Chapter 73: Master! You’re Truly a God!
Chapter 73: Master! You’re Truly a God!
After expending an enormous amount of effort, Ye Shu finally managed to reassemble the limbs of the Earth Spirit puppet body.
Standing before him now was a complete figure—long flowing hair, an alluring face, and a flawless physique. It was the kind of beauty that would leave any man unable to forget her at first glance.
The bewitching woman opened her mouth and spoke, “Master, do I look good?”
Her fingers traced over her smooth, eggshell-like skin as she cast a flirtatious glance at Ye Shu.
“Shut up and put some clothes on!” Ye Shu didn’t even bother glancing at her. This puppet body wasn’t real—it was just like the technology from his past life. He could shape it however he wanted, but it lacked any sense of authenticity.
At his harsh words, Succubus Demon shivered slightly. Under the lamplight, her pale skin shimmered with movement.
Seeing how stern Ye Shu was, she reluctantly dressed herself, then stood by his side, tentatively reaching out to tug at his fingers.
“Behave yourself! If you cause any more trouble, I’ll lock you back inside!”
Ye Shu swatted away her restless hand and fixed her with a cold stare. “Don’t forget what you promised me. Once I let you out, what identity did you agree to take on?”
Succubus Demon blinked, pouting reluctantly. “I haven’t forgotten, Master. I’m just your maid, here to attend to your daily needs—that’s all.”
She had already changed how she addressed Ye Shu, calling him “Master” now.
They had agreed beforehand: while outside for three chapters’ worth of time, Succubus Demon could only act as a maid serving Ye Shu. She couldn’t engage in anything overly intimate. If others found out, it would tarnish Ye Shu’s reputation, and she would face punishment as well.
“Good. Keep that in mind and don’t make me remind you every single time. If you annoy me, you’ll be sent back into my dantian—and you won’t come out again,” Ye Shu said sternly.
“Yes, Master!”
Upon hearing this, Succubus Demon immediately complied and bowed respectfully.
She absolutely didn’t want to return to Ye Shu’s dantian—it was dreadfully boring, with no one to talk to. Being outside allowed her to stay close to Ye Shu every day, admiring his handsome face, which was infinitely better than being trapped inside.
Even thinking about it made her feel that being a maid wasn’t so bad after all.
“And besides, being a maid has its advantages too. If I can gain Master’s favor and become a concubine, I’d gladly accept that role,” Succubus Demon thought to herself, giggling softly.
Ye Shu turned around and asked, “What are you laughing about? Are you plotting something again?”
But honestly, since her life was entirely under his control, she couldn’t stir up much trouble. There was no need to worry too much.
“By the way, what’s your name?” Ye Shu suddenly asked.
He had brought her back from the Slaughter Tower but had forgotten to ask her name. It wouldn’t do to keep calling her “Succubus Demon” when meeting outsiders—it would raise awkward questions.
“I don’t have a name.”
At this, a flicker of disappointment crossed Succubus Demon’s face.
She had been a wandering soul trapped within the Slaughter Tower. Unlike naturally born spirits, she carried fragmented memories of her past life, though they were hazy and unclear. She was certain she once had a name, but her chaotic memories made it impossible to recall.
A hint of understanding flashed across Ye Shu’s face. “In that case, how about I give you a name?”
“Yes, yes, yes!” Succubus Demon nodded eagerly.
For a ghostly spirit, having an identity was incredibly important. A name represented existence. With a name, one could resonate with the heavens and earth, significantly boosting their strength. Furthermore, depending on the power of the person bestowing the name, the recipient might receive corresponding fortune.
With adoring eyes, Succubus Demon gazed at Ye Shu. She held deep admiration for him. If he were to name her, she believed she’d receive a great deal of luck.
Seeing her expectant expression, Ye Shu stroked his chin thoughtfully before suggesting, “How about we call you Xiaomei?”
“Xiaomei? Does Master think I’m beautiful? Of course, I am!” Upon hearing this, Succubus Demon playfully arched her hips and caressed her body seductively.
“No, I just couldn’t be bothered to think too hard,” Ye Shu bluntly replied.
Succubus Demon fell silent. “…”
“If you don’t like it, I can suggest another name. I’m quite skilled at naming things—Wangcai, Laifu, Dahuang, Xiaogou… Which one do you prefer?” Ye Shu offered nonchalantly.
“I’ll stick with Xiaomei,” Succubus Demon quickly shook her head. Compared to those names that sounded like they belonged to dogs, Xiaomei was clearly the better choice.
Ye Shu nodded approvingly. “That’s settled, then.”
Just as she accepted the name, a loud thunderclap boomed outside, nearly scaring the soul out of Succubus Demon.
“Who’s setting off firecrackers?” Annoyed, Ye Shu prepared to go outside and confront whoever was responsible.
Suddenly, streaks of golden auroras poured in through the windows, door cracks, and crevices, converging onto Succubus Demon’s body.
“It feels so good~”
She let out a soft moan of pleasure.
Basking in the glow, she absorbed the light completely, leaving no trace behind.
“This is Heavenly Bestowed Soul Fortune!” Ye Shu muttered quietly upon witnessing the phenomenon.
According to ancient texts, such a spectacle was described as a sign of immense fortune for ghosts or spirits. Known as Heavenly Bestowed Soul Fortune, it indicated divine approval. The energy was delivered through lightning—the very thing spirits feared most—and upon absorption, it granted them immunity to lightning-based attacks, completing a transcendent transformation.
For ghostly beings, gaining immunity to lightning was a highly coveted ability. Moreover, this heavenly blessing came with numerous other fortunes, ensuring smooth progress on the cultivation path. It was truly an extraordinary boon!
What caused this?
Was it simply because Ye Shu gave her a name, or was there some other unknown factor at play?
Ye Shu was puzzled, but judging from the current situation, his act of naming her seemed directly linked to the phenomenon.
“Master! You’re truly a god!” Succubus Demon, now named Xiaomei, cried out ecstatically. She could feel subtle changes occurring within her body, and her admiration for Ye Shu overflowed from her eyes.
She was absolutely certain that the fortune she received stemmed from Ye Shu giving her a name!
Overwhelmed by gratitude, she collapsed weakly and rushed toward Ye Shu, intending to offer herself fully in repayment.
“Master~”
Her ample curves bounced playfully in the air, resembling two rabbits leaping about. She threw herself toward him.
“If you dare take another step forward, I’ll lock you back inside!” Ye Shu glared at her coldly.
Xiaomei froze instantly, not daring to move a muscle. Gazing longingly at Ye Shu, who was now tantalizingly close yet unreachable, tears of regret welled up in her eyes. “Wuwuwu…”
While she had gained a great fortune, Ye Shu also possessed the power to strip it away.
Ye Shu felt that if she dared cross any boundaries, a mere thought from him could drag her from heaven to hell, condemning her to eternal torment.
This was why Xiaomei still feared Ye Shu deeply.
“Behave yourself. If you perform well, I’ll reward you appropriately. Do you understand?”
Ye Shu raised a finger, addressing her firmly.
He exuded the same authoritative presence Luo Jiuyan once had when dealing with him.
