Extra's Perfect Ending
Chapter 71: Preparation
The sun hung high in the sky it shone light upon the town of Tumidus. Reeva was done working at the food stall for the day, along with his "sister" and the maid.
Now, he was waiting for the most exciting plan for the day, since tomorrow he needed to Go to the auction that Holen had for him, he needed a card he could play. You never know when a demon or a church is going to pop up.
The white slate is added to his arsenal, instead of another gun he could use. Now he only had 3 left, one for everyone in his party. He wasn't planning on taking any of them for himself since he valued any of them, so he needed more net for him to fall into.
For that, he needs to know how exactly the white slate works.
"Hilda, could you put your mystic power into this?"
Reeva presented her with a white slate.
"Put into it?"
Hilda asks, not sure what her master needs her to do. Mystic power could be used by people but it famously couldn't be put into objects. It would just disperse like when it exits the body.
"You just need your power to touch it"
"Oh"
She holds the white slate in her hand. it could fit easily in her palm, the coldness of the item touched her as she moved her pure mystic force to make contact with the white slate. As soon as her power touches it, she immediately drops the white slate on the ground.
"It's real..."
When she heard what the white slate could do, she brushed it off as Reeva being over dramatic about not knowing how putting mystic power in an object would go. But she instantly realizes he's right when her power touches it.
She had to drop the thing before it suck her power dry.
"The church had this? What are they doing?"
"The church...." Theia said with a low voice
Cold sweat trickles down Hilda's neck, if a church has a hand in making this then it would be disastrous for a mystic that's not affiliated with a church like hers.
"I don't know, but as you can tell it's not the church's belief, and if this belief gets out of hand, it could spawn a demon. It would get ugly for everyone in the city."
"So that's why you go to Holen yesterday" Theia has an epiphany "I wonder if this is connected to the mystic that we fought before."
"Unlikely," Reeva said "The blood mystic that we encountered didn't have this belief and he wouldn't be greedy enough to not know that this is dangerous. With only himself, he could not control this belief. It would be a fool to keep them around. So it is possible but unlikely."
Reeva also brought the paper that Holen gave him for Theia and Hilda to see. Thankfully it wasn't damaged when he was duking it out with Theodore, However, one could still see a brunt at the edge of the papers.
"This is what I got, on the mystic that attacked us, He most likely has a star. And as you know a star needs a lot of blood to advance. Especially when he's about 3 stars. The easier way to get a lot of blood without someone noticing is a slave. So I was looking for the person who has dealt with slaves a lot, my prime suspect is this guy called Ulla Huron."
"Huron?" Theia perked up, she could still remember that annoying guy "That bastard's father?"
"Yes, his father has been purchasing slaves at an alarming rate and we would like to check that out."
"Why are we still on this case, didn't the mystic die?" Theia could see the reason but she wanted to know from Reeva's mouth.
"I don't like it when people show up unannounced and beat the crap out of me and more importantly it would make me happy to see them fall."
"I see..." Theia said, "How would you do it, burn his house down?"
Reeva looks at Theia weirdly with her suggestion.
"Never knew you had that in you. But no, I'm sure there's a better way to do things, I just need more information... Speaking of which do you have information on our restaurant Hilda?"
"We successfully secured the 500 stac loans from the bank and finalized the agreement of the building on the grand road. The renovation will take two weeks. The thing master asks for isn't "normal" for the blacksmith so they have a hard time working it out."
"We got a whole restaurant..."
Theia couldn't believe it, yellow mist seeped through her body. Her hard work has paid off. However Reeva is not as happy as those two, two weeks is all he had to figure out the cult that is behind the white slate belief and end it before it is too late.
"Thank you, Hilda"
"No problem master."
Hilda is as cold as ever, but she is also dependable in Reeva's eyes.
"um... Master, I got a... problem" Theia avoided his gaze. "Yesterday I encountered my sister.. at the burger stall and I think she might have caught on to who I was."
"You realize that we're not a cult member right? Why are you so nervous?"
Theia makes an uncomfortable face again. The thought of facing her sister face to face I not a good one for her.
"I told you that the black rectangle thing is my father's collection item, right? It's actually a family treasure and I stole it before I left home... It's the thing that my father defended with all his life until he fell ill... I'm afraid she might kill me when she finds me"
Reeva could see the problem from the story. Onia would be pretty pissed right now when their family treasure got stolen away by her sister no less. But there is one problem...
"Do you know why she's here?"
"I don't know. Is my sister that mad at me? Knowing her, that's properly what it is..."
"I think your sister want to take you back"
"What?"
Theia doesn't look convinced.
