I, the creator of the evil god!

Chapter 10 - Rubbing the Evil God’s Wool

Chapter Ten: Rubbing the Evil God’s Wool

The ritual of the evil god is a sacred affair in which the followers of the god build an altar to offer sacrifices in exchange for divine rewards.

Now that the followers of the evil god were wiped out by a single move from the Fear Balloon, the altar that Lu Yu had previously seen was rendered meaningless.

As an altar used in service to an evil god, it was inevitable that the altar would house a precious item, a medium for communicating with the deity.

Seizing the opportunity before the military personnel could react, Lu Yu quickened his pace and headed to the building where the evil god’s followers had been. Following the memory of his earlier observations, he arrived at the front door, casually destroying the surveillance cameras along the way.

Standing before the closed door, Lu Yu gave a faint smile and raised his foot slowly.

Boom!

The door flew open with a single kick. But instead of charging in immediately, Lu Yu tossed the Fear Balloon inside to scout the area.

The balloon, unaware of Lu Yu’s true intentions, merrily floated around, calling out to Lu Yu as though inviting him to join in. However, Lu Yu ignored it.

Once sure there were no traps, Lu Yu confidently stepped inside. But as soon as he crossed the threshold, a strong stench of blood mixed with rotting flesh assaulted his senses.

“Ugh, that smell is horrible!”

Lu Yu frowned as he took in the structure of the room.

The floor and walls were covered in strange and evil symbols drawn in blood, with several dried-up hearts and dismembered limbs placed at key points. The source of the nauseating odor became clear.

At the center of the formation stood a massive, fleshy root, adorned with twisted symbols. It seemed to resemble a name, its curving lines resembling the eight eyes of a spider from afar.

The appearance of evil gods has always been nothing more than human imagination. No one has ever seen them or truly understood what they are. Even their names are mere phonetic representations, not their true identities.

Thus, it’s not surprising that there were no statues of the evil god present.

Besides this, a few mutilated corpses lay in the corners of the room. Judging by their clothing and the photos scattered nearby, they appeared to be the original inhabitants of the house.

Lu Yu looked at the terror-stricken, agonized expressions frozen on their faces and sighed.

“They’ve already been killed by me. You can rest now,” he murmured.

With that, Lu Yu summoned the Hellfire Whip and sent it out to ignite the corpses. The black flames spread along the blood, enveloping the remains and consuming them.

Whether it was Lu Yu’s illusion or not, as the bodies burned, their faces seemed to relax, no longer contorted in pain. They turned to ash and scattered with the wind.

Having done what he needed, Lu Yu approached the statue. Observing it for a moment, he reached up and removed one of its eight eyes.

“It’s not black diamond, but obsidian? This is used for warding off evil. Are you sure you want to use this material for the evil god’s statue?”

Lu Yu couldn’t help but mock, for in his past life, obsidian was used to make protective amulets, not idols for dark deities. But remembering the terrifying power of the evil god, Lu Yu understood.

It wasn’t that obsidian lacked power; rather, it was the overwhelming force of the dark forces at play.

“Who cares if it wards off evil or not?” Lu Yu thought. “In the end, it’s all about who has the stronger punch.”

Although he mocked, Lu Yu’s body obediently gathered the eight pieces of obsidian. No matter the situation, they were valuable, and he could surely sell them for a good price.

After taking the eyes from the statue, Lu Yu searched the room but found nothing of real value.

“But with just a few pieces of obsidian, this hardly counts as treasure,” he muttered to himself, gazing at the statue. That’s when he noticed something strange about the material—it still gave off a faint fragrance, despite the overwhelming stench of decay in the room.

“Could it be…?” Lu Yu’s thoughts sparked.

He immediately activated his ability to extract material from the statue.

Crack, crack, crack!

The statue began to crumble, and a white light slowly emerged. It seemed he had successfully extracted it!

“What star-tier material is this?” Lu Yu wondered, praying for a five-star material, or at least a four-star one.

But as soon as he reached out to touch the material, everything changed.

Crack, crack, crack!

Before his eyes, the world shattered into intricate web-like patterns, as though the world itself were a piece of broken glass.

“What’s happening?”

Lu Yu’s heart raced, but before he could react further, the world around him began to shift. The webs multiplied, growing larger, as though he were entering a gigantic spider’s realm.

In the midst of the vast, uncountable webs, Lu Yu saw a vast, terrifying, indescribable reflection.

He caught a glimpse but could only see a darkness as deep as an abyss. When he tried to look closer, his instincts screamed at him to stop. He must not look any closer…

You must not gaze upon the divine!

Even though the god seemed unaware of his presence.

The Evil God, Atlac-Nakya.

The terrifying spider god resided deep within that ethereal web world. It appeared to be sleeping, or perhaps trapped in a dream-like state, between reality and illusion.

Yet even in its slumber, the air it exhaled felt like a breeze—but one imbued with the poisonous essence of the abyss. It filled Lu Yu’s mind with madness, threatening to tear his thoughts apart.

His body began to twist painfully. His bones, flesh, and organs contorted as though he were about to become a spider!

“Damn it!”

Lu Yu struggled to resist this overwhelming force. Even if he had to die, he refused to transform into a grotesque human-spider hybrid.

Evil God aura detected… activating protection mode… Preparing to break through the boundary and leave the dream world… Countdown: 10 seconds… 7… 6…

The cold, mechanical voice of the system echoed in his ears as a stronger force surged through him, dispelling the deforming energy within his body. The space around him began to fragment. It seemed the system was about to pull him out of the dream world.

Lu Yu tore his gaze away, avoiding looking at that terrifying figure. After all, staring too long could leave an eternal shadow on one’s mind, turning it into an unshakable nightmare.

But leaving the god’s domain empty-handed wasn’t Lu Yu’s style. As he pondered, a bold idea crossed his mind!

If the system’s power could rival that of this spider god…

In other words, his backup might be strong enough to handle this!

The system’s voice continued:

“3… 2… 1…”

At the final countdown, a shimmering light surrounded Lu Yu, surreal and eternal, as it prepared to whisk him away.

Lu Yu raised his head and glanced one final time at the distorted reflection of the spider god. As soon as he looked directly at it, a horrific force surged into his body through his eyes, attempting to twist his very being into a monstrous form.

But the system’s power was more domineering. It erased the malignant influence, ensuring Lu Yu’s body and soul remained intact.

As Lu Yu confirmed the strength of his support, a triumphant smile spread across his face.

“Atlac, my old friend, I’ve finally visited. It’s only right I bring something back with me. But don’t worry, I won’t trouble you—I’ll take it myself.”

With those words, the light whisked him away from the spider’s web world.

In the shattered void, a pair of massive blood-red eyes opened. The entire web world, unable to withstand the immense pressure, shattered into pieces.

Amid the crumbling chaos, an incomprehensible voice echoed:

“Who stole my body?”
