Chapter 3 Social Ruin or Qi Lin’s Terms—Your Choice

Wang Siling cautiously glanced at Qi Lin, hoping that mentioning she already had a boyfriend would make this wealthy second-generation heir give up. Surely no guy would still want to pursue a girl who was already taken, right?

Unfortunately, Wang Siling was too naive, unaware of the reality of men’s thoughts.

Having a boyfriend wasn’t a deal breaker—in fact, it often added intrigue. Besides, did Qi Lin believe her claim? Not for a second.

Her nervous, sweaty palms betrayed her lack of experience. This was clearly a girl who’d never even held hands with a boy before, let alone had a boyfriend.

“Oh, you do? Well, in that case, let’s go to the school office right now. As long as you dare to tell the director you’re dating that little hothead, I’ll drop the compensation issue entirely.”

Qi Lin smiled pleasantly, but his expression was more similar to a devil lurking in the depths of the abyss.

Wang Siling’s face turned pale. She opened her mouth, but no words came out. If she admitted to dating someone at school, her reputation would be destroyed, and she’d face social death. Her parents would be furious, and the shame would be unbearable.

This outcome seemed no better than owing Qi Lin 12,000 yuan. Seeing the tears welling in Wang Siling’s beautiful eyes and the way she bit her lip nervously, Qi Lin knew she was on the verge of a mental breakdown.

If he pushed too hard now, she might panic, scream, or worse. It was time to retreat just a little, only to strike again.

“Fine, I won’t make it difficult for you. Let’s revise the terms—I won’t kiss you. You just have to kiss me on the cheek, and I’ll waive the compensation.”

Qi Lin leaned slightly closer to Wang Siling, his voice soft but deliberate.

“Just… on the cheek?”

The strategy worked. Hearing the change, Wang Siling felt a sliver of relief.

A kiss on the lips would mean losing her first kiss, but a peck on the cheek?

She could rationalize that as a gesture of gratitude, even if it felt wrong. Still, as a girl, Wang Siling hesitated. Her silence and inaction spoke volumes.

For someone like Qi Lin, who had completely discarded morality, dealing with hesitant girls was second nature.

“Ah, so even this tiny condition is too much? I guess I’ll have to go talk to your brother and let him handle the bill.”

Qi Lin sighed, reaching for the door handle.

“No!”

Panicking, Wang Siling lunged forward, grabbing Qi Lin’s hand to stop him from opening the door. Her movement brought her close to Qi Lin’s chest, and she froze, her delicate form leaning against him.

Though she wore no perfume, a faint lily-like fragrance wafted from her, a natural scent that was rare and alluring.

“I… I’ll do it. Just one kiss, and you’ll waive the fee, right?”

Tears glistened in Wang Siling’s eyes as she gazed at Qi Lin, resigned to her fate. She thought of Yu Chen, her childhood friend, who had always been by her side. Though they had never expressed their feelings openly, an innocent bond was forming.

Yet now, it wasn’t Yu Chen she was about to kiss, but a shameless, idle rich heir she loathed.

“Go ahead. I keep my word,” Qi Lin replied, his eyes narrowing slightly as he relished her mix of resentment and pain.

A perfect villain finds joy in collecting negative emotions from others, and Qi Lin excelled at his role.

Resigned, Wang Siling clutched the hem of her school uniform, her hands trembling. Her big, watery eyes shut tightly, and her long eyelashes fluttered nervously.

She leaned closer, her soft lips inching towards Qi Lin’s cheek. But Wang Siling underestimated the cunning of a fully awakened villain.

“Mmmpf!”

Her tear-filled eyes shot open in shock. Instead of Qi Lin’s cheek, her lips had met his. At the last second, Qi Lin had turned his head, wearing a devilishly playful expression.

Tears spilled from her eyes and streamed down her cheeks. She shook her head furiously, trying to pull away. Her hand swung up, aiming to slap him.

But how could a delicate girl possibly overpower Qi Lin? He caught her wrist effortlessly. With his free hand, he cupped her chin, preventing her from escaping.

The kiss lingered, tasting faintly sweet, before Qi Lin finally let go. Wang Siling’s tear-streaked face was filled with anger and humiliation.

“You scumbag! Bastard! You said it’d just be on the cheek! Why would you do this to me?”

Her naive attempts at cursing were ineffective. Rather than feeling offended, Qi Lin found her childish outburst amusing.

“You already called me a scumbag, yet you still believed me? Aren’t you a little fool yourself?”

He chuckled and lightly flicked her cheek.

“Don’t touch me, you jerk!”

Wang Siling shoved his hand away and shouted tearfully. This day would be etched in her memory as an absolute nightmare. A blooming girl in the prime of her youth, yet her first kiss had been taken by a despicable rich boy she despised.
