Chapter 4: IMPENDING DOOM
** Episode 4 **
Detective Jun stood up abruptly, frustration evident on his face as he pointed a finger at Min-Jun, struggling to find the right words.
Sensing his behavior, he definitely won't say anything until he see his lawyer just as he mentioned.
"Aahh!" he exclaimed in exasperation before storming out of the room.
Min-Jun heart sank again. His breathing increase rapidly, feeling his heart again, pounding against the wall of his chest. He prayed silently for his lawyer to come anytime soon. How on heaven names is he going to survive just any minute here. Just glancing at the detective face, he could tell he's not a fan, definitely the opposite.
"How'd it go?" Officer Bung asked as the detective exited.
"He won't say anything. Take him back and lock him up," Detective Jun ordered.

Manager Ma arrived at the station with Barrister Kang. Kim Min-Jun couldn't control the joy when he got notified of their arrival.
"What took you so long, Manager Ma? I waited all through yesterday for you," Min-Jun said, a bit of relief washing over him at their presence.
"I was kinda busy. The company was in chaos," Manager Ma explained, not looking really happy seeing him.
Min-Jun gazes moved from manger Ma to the barrister. He was so glad he's finally here after waiting all through for his arrival.
"Barrister Kang, thank goodness you're here," Min-Jun said, his voice tinged with urgency, looking into his face.
Barrister Kang move closer to him from his side of the chair, his fingers interlaced together and he asked"Did you say anything to them yet?"
Min-Jun shook his head at once, still staring straight at barrister Kang face.
Barrister Kang went on asking Min-Jun to say all he know about young A-Yeon death but Min-Jun insisted he know nothing about it.
"I didn't do it. Yes, I did went to see her that day at the hotel. We had a misunderstanding, but I left immediately after we cleared things up peacefully. She was perfectly fine when I left." Min-Jun explain but the expression on both faces show they didn't believe a single words coming out for him.
"What time did you leave her at the hotel?" Barrister Kang asked further.
"I think it was around 4:30 PM."
"And she was murdered just few minutes after you left her?"
"What?" Min-Jun exclaimed, disbelief flooding his voice. Just few minutes? Something seem really fishy. Someone definitely us after him, someone definitely had it planned out intensionally. But who could've__
"What?" Min-Jun bellowed again still in unspeakable shocked.
"Keep your voice down," Barrister Kang cautioned. He exhaled, cleared his throat and went on, "Min-Jun, all the evidences are pointing to you right now. It's only a 0.1 percent chance we might win this case, but__ I'll do my very best."
Min-Jun heart sank at the statement of barrister Kang. "What do you mean all the evidence are pointing to me? I did nothing." Min-Jun rambled, anxiety creeping into his voice.
"The surveillance system shows you leaving her room in a hurry around the time she was murdered. Your handprint was found on the knife that was found on her stomach. And there are claims that you killed her because she broke up with you."
"She didn't break up with me! I ended things!" Min-Jun insisted, his voice rising again. His eyes was burning red, with tears struggling to remain faithful. He turned to manager Ma and manager Ma quickly looked away, obviously avoiding Min-Jun burning eyes.
"Min-Jun, please," Barrister Kang interjected softly, urging him to calm down.
Just as manager Ma wanted to press further, a cop announced their time up immediately.
Barrister Kang stood up, briefcase in his hand, followed by Manager Ma. "See you in court. Remember, don't say a word to anyone," Barrister Kang advised as they made their way out.
Manager Ma was quite satisfied with the cops coming just right in time. He might loss his composure seeing Min-Jun in that state. He felt pity for him and wished he could get him out immediately but it was just too difficult not to believe he's guilty with all the evidence provided.
Min-Jun watched them go, fear and determination swirling within him as the cops drag him back and locked him up.
Manager Ma had just entered the company when Duri, who was eventually leaving, spotted him and approached. Duri was the closest to Min-Jun in the group and he'd been the most so worried about him since the cops took him away.
They were all warned from visiting him at the station all having anything to do with him for now.
"Manager Ma, I heard you went to the station. How is Min-Jun doing, he's not being treated rashly right?"
Manager Ma let out a heavy sigh before saying, "I'm not sure, but he'll be taken to court soon."
"I heard all the evidences are pointing to him. Are you sure barrister Kang is going to win this case?" Duri asked, concern all over him.
"That will be known soon, but Barrister Kang has promised to do his very best." He wasn't sure how to answered to any further questions coming from Duri, so he quickly find a way out from Duri presence. "You were heading somewhere, right?"
"Yeah, I was going home."
"Okay. Drive safe." He said and hastily left Duri.

Min-Jun found himself in court. Barrister Kang fought valiantly, but he struggled to provide compelling evidence to prove Min-Jun's innocence. The opposing counsel presented a mountain of evidence that painted Min-Jun as guilty. Just as the tension reached its peak, the judge called for a recess, extending the final judgment to the following day.
As the police escorted Min-Jun out of the courtroom, a throng of reporters awaited them, cameras flashing and questions flying. Anxiety gripped him, and cold sweat trickled down his forehead. The officers managed to usher him into a police van, but Min-Jun couldn't shake the feeling of impending doom. He was certain he would be sentenced to death; Barrister Kang couldn't possibly win against the overwhelming evidence.
If only he could take time back, he would've listen to manager Ma and not visiting her at the hotel.
That night, sleep eluded him. He tried to calm his racing heart, preparing himself for the worst, but thoughts of death haunted him, sending shivers down his spine.
All he had worked for for year is finally getting to a tragic, shameful end. He broke down and cried his eyes out for the first time since he lost his grandma who raise him after his parents died. He cried, maybe for the last time before he face his doom.
And then, the door suddenly creaked opened. Two officers entered and roughly pulled him out of his cell.
