A catgirl's unnamed life

Chapter 50: How it's gonna end?

You smile gently, satisfied with her response. You give her ear another fond tug, earning a slight pout and blush in response.

"Take all the time you need. I'm not going to force you to do anything you're not ready for, you know that, right? Just take things slow, okay? For now, just relax and get some rest."

As Hanna drifts off to sleep you stay awake for a while longer, watching over her as she slumbers. Your thoughts return to the conversation you had earlier, to her promise to be honest with you, to not push you away. You hope that this is just the beginning, that she'll start to open up more as time goes on.

Slowly, you feel yourself start to doze off as well, Hanna's small body still snuggled against yours. You take one last glance at her, her face relaxed and peaceful in sleep, before closing your eyes and drifting off to sleep yourself.

Hanna looks around, her expression confused and a bit scared. She doesn't recognize this place, she doesn't know where she is. The cold air stings her skin, the snow seeping into her thin clothes and making her shiver.

"Where...where am I?"

Hanna looks down at her clothes, grimacing at the ragged and dirty state they're in. She wraps her arms around herself, trying to conserve as much heat as possible. She looks around again, her expression a mix of confusion and fear.

"How did I get here...?"

Hanna stands up on shaky legs, her teeth chattering from the cold. She follows the direction her heart guides her, her steps slow and hesitant. The snow soaks through her thin shoes, her feet and toes starting to feel numb from the cold.

Hanna blinks, her vision partially obscured by the thick, white fog. The air is so cold, she can see her breath as she exhales in short, foggy puffs. She keeps walking, her eyes straining to see through the fog, her heart beating a bit quicker with every step.

The fog is so thick that Hanna can barely see a few feet ahead of her. She keeps walking, her eyes straining to see through the white, misty air. Every step takes effort, the snow making it difficult to move quickly. She's starting to shiver from the cold, her teeth chattering, her breath coming in short, ragged puffs.

Suddenly, Hanna's eyes catch a glimpse of something in the distance, a faint glow just visible through the fog. She squints, trying to make out what it is. Her heart skips a beat, a mix of hope and trepidation coursing through her.

She sees you...with another girl, Hanna's eyes widen in horror, her heart stopping for a brief moment. She tries to blink away the sight, telling herself that it's just a hallucination, a trick of the fog. But she can't tear her gaze away, frozen in place as she watches the two of you together.

"Maste-" Hanna's call is cut off abruptly when she trips and falls face first into the snow.

She lands with a cold, wet thud, the snow sticking to her hair and face and soaking through her clothes. She lays there for a few moments, too stunned to move, her heart racing as she realizes what just happened.

Hanna lays there for a few more moments, asking herself "It this how everything is going to end?". Her thoughts spiraling as she contemplates her situation. The cold snow stings her skin, the bitter air causing her breath to shiver in her lungs. She can't help but wonder if this is how it all ends, if she's doomed to die alone in the cold, unnoticed and forgotten by the world around her.

A wave of despair washes over her, her heart threatening to break. She desperately wants to cry, to scream, to let out the emotions that are welling up inside her. But she can only lay there, cold and wet and exhausted, her voice refusing to work, her body refusing to move.

Hanna's eyelids flutter closed, her body too exhausted to do anything else. Her breaths are quick and shallow, her chest rising and falling in an unsteady rhythm. She can feel the cold seeping deeper and deeper into her bones, her consciousness starting to fade as the darkness closes in around her.

Her mind drifts to memories of you, your voice playing in her mind like a broken record. She recalls every moment spent together, every conversation, every hug and smile. Her heart aches with the realization that it was all just a dream, that her happiness was never meant to last. With a heavy, final sigh, she lets her consciousness slip away into the cold, dark oblivion.
