A Journey That Changed The World.

Chapter 1398: I'll Give You Thirty

Archer was flying across the Eastern Wilds that separated his new lands from the Goldenmane Empire that he had decided to explore. After an hour, he spotted a border town in the distance.

He glided down, dismissing his wings as he landed near the road. His eyes caught a caravan of merchants trudging along, their laden carts creaking. 'Probably from the Duskfire Empire,' he mused, intrigued by their journey.

Following that, he pulled out a cloak and wrapped it around his body before putting the hood up to hide his hair. Ten minutes later, he arrived at the entrance of the town, which was guarded by giant lion men.

'They make the Lionheart soldiers look like children,' he mused with glowing eyes. 'Having these men and women in the legions would improve their fighting capabilities.'

By the time Archer reached the entrance, there was a queue that he stepped into, but he noticed people were giving him suspicious looks. He chuckled before using Mana Manipulation to transform himself.

He was now a brown haired Wood Elf exploring different lands. This amused him to no end as the soldiers wouldn't be able to tell. Only a Pseudo God could see through his disguise, and by the time he reached the entrance, he was welcomed.

Archer entered the border town that should have been called a city as the place as massive and reminded him of ancient Greece with its buildings and roads. People walked around in thick winter clothes.

Afterward, he wandered around and noticed things were different compared to Draconia as there was homeless people trying to keep warm. While doing this, he spotted a family huddled together as a man tried to start a fire.

Without warning, Archer approached them and used his mana to create a small fire, which shocked the poor people. He crouched down while handing over several slices of fresh pizza.

''You cannot have our children!'' the lion woman exclaimed.

He shook his head with a smile. ''No need to worry, I'm just helping out because I'm becoming a Father and can't stand seeing your little ones go hungry.''

''Thank you sir,'' the father thanked him.

''Call me Archer,'' he replied. ''Just eat and get warm. It's been years since I've seen homeless people; it's been wiped out in my homeland.''

When the family heard this, they all looked at him like he was crazy. This made him laugh before his father sarcastically questioned. ''And where do you come from? Where is this magical place where we poor people live decent lives?''

''The Draconia Empire,'' he revealed with a smile. ''I just traveled through there and not one homeless person was on the streets.''

After speaking, Archer opened a Gate to the Draconia's Government center. The scene shocked the watching family but he continued. ''Step through here, tell them the emperor sent you and you'll be given an apartment, allowance and medical treatment.''

They looked skeptical but he dismissed his disguise only for the lion people to back away as his face was well known among the Alliance nations. He took out a pouch of gold coins and handed it to the father.

''Take this to get yourself started,'' he said while standing up. ''It's your choice, but I swear on all that I hold dear that I mean you no harm and just want to help.''

Just then, the little girl stepped forward and asked. ''What about our friends?''

Archer cast Cleanse on the family before using a healing spell on them, which surprised the family as he answered. ''I'll take all the homeless from Goldenmane and give everyone a new home so they can contribute to my empire.''

Following that, the mother and father entered the portal after thanking him. Once they were gone, he summoned his Shadow Creatures and ordered them to spread out across the enemy empires to kidnap all their innocent homeless.

He couldn't help but chuckle while thinking. 'The nobles are going to love this but once they realize that I've gained more loyal people who will take the citizen oath as we got rid of the Terravians artefacts.'

Archer shook his head and entered an empty part of the Domain, where he created a massive walled-in area that was impossible to break out of. After that, he created a river that was would to a nearby lake and flow through the walled in area to give them water.

It took him a few minutes until he was finished and used his mana to create a sea of tents that the homeless could stay in. Moments later, the Shadows started grabbing families and bringing them into the Shadow Realm.

The last thing he did was create crates of long-lasting foods, clothes, along other stuff they would need to start a new life. Pleased with what he did, he started bringing the homeless people out, and they appeared on the soft grass.

Archer watched them wake up as he spoke to the first group. ''You ten will be the leaders of this place. If there's any trouble inside here, I'll know and will deal with it instantly.''

''Huh?'' A giant of a man spoke while looking confused. ''Where are we? All I remember was the local gang coming for me.''

Archer studied the stranger, a tall, broad figure with half a tail and one ear missing. Intrigued, he mused. 'A warrior, perhaps? Fallen on hard times to end up homeless?'

''Well, I don't know the circumstances that led you here, but I'm Archer Wyldheart, the man who owns this realm,'' he introduced himself. ''I realized the Alliance didn't care about the homeless, so I'm here to offer you a place to live and thrive.''

When the stranger heard this, he quickly calmed the others down before turning back to him with a suspicious expression. ''What's in it for you, White Devil? That's what those Novgorod bastards call you, correct?''

Archer chuckled, shaking his head. ''That's irrelevant. I'm not here to take anything from you. I have plenty of soldiers, I don't deal in slavery, and all I offer is citizenship in Draconia, work, pay taxes, and live like everyone else.''

The lion man nodded, extending a hand. ''I'm Javan, former General of the Goldenmane Empire, banished for opposing the Alliance representative.''

Archer's interest piqued. ''Is the Alliance still meddling in the empire?'' he asked.

An enraged expression appeared on the older man's face before he answered. ''No, but they'll return in the spring. No doubt to pass the empress into another pointless suicide charge against your walls.''

''Interesting,'' he muttered while rubbing his chin. ''I guess I'll go kidnap them when they arrive, but enough of this. You people will stay here for now. Overcrowding in the Draconia Empire is a problem, and my floating cities aren't ready yet.''

''Floating what?'' Javan asked.

Archer took out some plans and showed the older man. ''A few days ago, one of my wives came to me saying it was getting harder to house people. So that got me thinking about how to solve the issue.''

He pointed out the floating platform that would use the Mana Generators to float on the surface of the ocean and be protected by waves thanks to the barriers that are powered by Manaheart Crystals.

When Javan saw this, his eyes widened before he mumbled in awe. ''This is amazing, if the people live here, they would strive to no end. I bet there are loads of jobs willing to hire us on them things.''

Archer nodded. ''That's the point. My company will set up different businesses that will hire tens of thousands of people, along with the Mining Platforms that pay well nowadays. If I remember correctly, it's five gold a day, which is way above the old salaries.''

''How can a small empire like Draconia pay so much? Those wages would bankrupt any other nation,'' Javan muttered.

''That's right, but the resources I have are out of this world, along with the increased taxes that the people's council voted on,'' he revealed. ''I had no hand in the matter; my wife Aisha deals with the politics. Though the business owners opted to pay even more, thanks to the profits they earn since setting up on Draconia.''

''Before the army, I was a foreman in the famous Goldenmane Manacheart Crystal Mines,'' the older man revealed. ''My nose is good at finding long-lost veins of valuable resources that could benefit Draconia.''

Archer looked at Javan while asking. ''What's your price? I lack mines on Avidia and could use your nose.''

''Twenty gold a day, a manor on the shore with my family, and you'll get my undying loyalty for the rest of my days,'' he revealed.

He laughed at the man's offer before countering. ''I'll give you thirty a day and personally build a mansion on the southern shores of Draconia, but you have to find me at least three mines a week. Once there's a suitable amount, your pay will return to twenty as I need time to conquer more land.''
