A Nameless Tale

Chapter 5: Dark Prison

The Nameless Knight awoke to find,

His world had shifted, left behind.

No cave, no light, no earth, no sky,

But walls of black that pressed him nigh.

A prison vast, yet small, confined,

A box of void, a cage designed.

Yet still his heart did not despair,

For he was bound by holy prayer.

---------------------------

A voice did speak, both cold and sweet,

A woman's tone, with dark deceit.

"Thou art my guest, O knight of light,

Trapped here by Ivil's cursed might.

I made a pact with shadow's lord,

And gained the power to strike thy chord.

This prison holds thee, firm and tight,

Thou shalt not leave this endless night."

---------------------------

The knight did rise, his gaze did burn,

And in his hand, his blade did turn.

He swung it once, with holy grace,

And shattered space, and time, and place.

The black box fell, its walls did fade,

And light did pierce the dark cascade.

The witch stood there, her face agape,

Her plans undone, her pride did scrape.

---------------------------

Yet still she smiled, though shaken sore,

"Thou art a thorn, but I have more.

If walls of void cannot thee bind,

Then earth itself shall be thy grind."

She raised her hand, the cave did quake,

The stones did fall, the ground did break.

The ceiling crashed, the walls did fold,

And all the world seemed dark and cold.

---------------------------

Yet still the knight did stand his ground,

His blade did glow, his heart did sound.

He swung it once, a single strike,

And all the cave did burst, alike.

The rubble fell, the dust did clear,

A crater vast did now appear.

The witch did stare, her breath did catch,

As light did rise from shadow's match.

---------------------------

The knight did leap, his blade did sing,

And cut the air, though far from wing.

The witch did scream, her leg did fall,

Yet still she rose, though wounded, tall.

Her flesh did knit, her form did heal,

And through the skies, she took her wheel.

"Thou think thou'rt strong? Then face my might!"

She summoned meteors, vast and bright.

---------------------------

From heavens high, they came to crash,

Yet still the knight did slash and thrash.

His blade did cut through rock and flame,

And none did touch the earth's own frame.

He leapt on air, his strength did soar,

And grabbed the witch with mighty roar.

He hurled her down, her form did break,

And mountains fell beneath her wake.

---------------------------

Yet still she rose, though bruised and torn,

Her pride now shattered, her will forlorn.

She drank a potion, dark and deep,

And woke a power none could keep.

Her form did shift, her essence grew,

She was a concept, vast and true.

Reality bent beneath her hand,

And all the world did heed her stand.

---------------------------

With but a thought, she erased the knight,

And laughed aloud in shadowed light.

"Thou art no more, thy light is gone,

Thy journey ends, thy hope withdrawn."

Yet as she laughed, her form did split,

Her body halved, her soul unknit.

She stared in shock, her mind did reel,

For who had struck her? None did feel.

---------------------------

The knight did speak, though none could see,

"I am still here, though none can be.

Thy power fades, thy pride doth fall,

For I am bound by God's own call.

No prison holds me, no thought can bind,

For I am light, and thou art blind."

---------------------------

The witch did scream, her voice a wail,

"This cannot be! Thou art but tale!"

Yet still the knight did reconstruct,

His form did glow, his blade did suck.

He pierced her head, his sword did burn,

And from the world, she did adjourn.

Her essence fled, her form did fade,

And light did cleanse the dark she made.

---------------------------

The knight stood firm, his task complete,

His heart did beat, his soul did greet.

The world was cleansed, the shadows fled,

And hope did rise where once was dread.

He sheathed his sword, his gaze did turn,

Toward the path where light did yearn.

For still the pillar loomed ahead,

And still his journey must be led.
