Chapter 307: MadWhite's Offer

GRROOOWWLL The sound of a low growl resounded through the area as Morgaine and Ryuk's actions paused. They both turned their heads behind them, where they saw a huge head staring down at them, its claws folded into a fist over its huge maw, while its snow-white eyes stared at them with a narrowed gaze. And immediately, they both succeeded in moving away from each other's embrace like frightened mice. 'What's happening here....' Isha's voice resounded in Ryuk's head, as he scratched the back of his head, but before he could reply, he felt a body wrap around him tightly, as Morgaine's taunting voice rang out. "He belongs to me now!" she said, before racing off with Ryuk, quickly followed by Isha, who chased after both of them. Ice and golden energy erupted from the chase, and the one who bore the painful fruit of it all was none other than Ryuk, who could only helplessly watch as his girlfriend and his pet engaged in a battle of possession. ___________ 6 days later... DRIIIIING DRIIIIING DRIIIIING The sound of a ringing resounded through the cozy room, where laid an ultra-large and comfy-looking bedroom with a total of three figures, one thrice bigger than the remaining two. They were none other than Ryuk and Morgaine, but an extra presence was present, sleeping right in the middle of both, and it was none other than Isha, who acted as a median separating the two, while her claws and tail wrapped around Ryuk, whose eyes were opened, heavy bags underneath them. For the past six days, life had not been as peaceful as he wished. DRIIIIING Looking at his Apex Watch, he saw the ringing in them, as a head stretched from the side, none other than Morgaine's sleepy eyes. "MadWhite?" she asked, before stealing a quick kiss on Ryuk's cheek, following the low growl of Isha, who stared at her with narrow eyes, eliciting a triumphant giggle from Morgaine. A kiss like that had not happened for close to three days now, and only a single giant-looking Frost Wyvern could be thanked for that. Ryuk rolled his eyes at their little banter before rising up from the bed, picking up the call. THUMP The door was gently shut behind him as he came before a medium-sized, but extra-luxurious living room. He picked up his clothes from the golden sofa amidst the sound of a voice from the other side. "What's up, kiddo? Still snoring?" MadWhite's voice resonated from the other side, as Ryuk wore back his clothes before stepping out of the living room, the fresh morning breeze assaulting his nostrils and he stretched his back a bit. "Just woke up. Sore as hell though. How about you? Done with the guns yet?" Ryuk replied, and then... KA-CHA CLIIIING He heard the sound of a gun being pulled, followed by metal falling to the ground. "Just finished the guns. The materials were quite a lot, so I made another version, just for you. I don't think you're a gun-type person though..." MadWhite said, as Ryuk helplessly shrugged his shoulders. "I've never used one before..." "Don't worry about it. You got yourself a gunslinger mentor after all. Hahaha, I'll teach you a few of my tricks when you get back." "Speaking of which, just where are you anyway? Still in the Academy?" MadWhite asked with a raised eyebrow. "No, I've left the academy. I can get back in less than a few hours though. What's up?" Ryuk asked, as he got to the edge of the valley and took his seat, his snow-white hair ruffling to the rhythm of the falling blue sea waves before him. "Got a highlight from a dear friend. Seems like the 'Leaders of Endearth' have some information on where the next second Knull Attack will be happening, and just like before, they're planning on deploying the human race army over there." "Except this time, they'll be making sure no one can save the day," MadWhite's voice resonated amidst the sound of a gun being slung and filled with bullets. "What are you planning?" Ryuk replied with furrowed eyebrows. "I'm thinking of paying them all a visit at the roundtable. Maybe, get them to change their mind..." MadWhite said, as Ryuk rolled his eyes. "I don't think that'll be happening peacefully." "Who said anything about peace? If everything will go down in peace, then my new babies will have to starve. As a good father, I don't want that." "Don't tell me you're planning on crashing the party?" "That's quite a Brutish way to put it, but I won't say it's very far from the truth. Still, I can't watch humanity be thrown to the frontlines again, can I?" "This time, I'm planning on knocking some brains into the Ten Failures and showing them this isn't a war where one group will act as meat shields." "As nauseating as it sounds, we all will have to band together to face this war. That's what I want to tell them." "The next Knull Attack, I guess, will be pretty devastating compared to the first." "There's no time to experiment with playing chess at the front. We all have to band together soon to face them, and that's what I'm planning to tell them." "Fair enough," Ryuk replied. For what he had heard about the Knulls from Asteralaixa, taking the Knulls unseriously would lead to the wipeout of the entire Endearth. The Ten Families to Ryuk were not taking it seriously enough. If they were, they wouldn't be sending humans on the frontlines to see how powerful the Knulls are as that is just stupid. What they all need is some sort of eye-opening speech, that will force them all to bind together, and it seems MadWhite wanted to be at the front of that. It was something Ryuk didn't find that bad. Although, to change the view of the most powerful group on Endearth would require more than just a few words and coercion. It would be anything but easy. "So what do you say? Wanna join in the fun then?"
