Adeptus Anew

Chapter : The Warp Storm

The scene outside the windows settled, were there was the churning maelstrom of the warp now there was the inky blankness of space. Then the wailing began, it ripped through my skull as the machine spirit of the ship wailed its anguish transmitting directly into my head via the cables plugged directly into my skull. The binary prayer comes easily to my mind and my vox unit begins to broadcast the prayer across all Vox frequencies. Finally the machine spirit begins to settle and calm.

"Report." "Arch Magos we have successfully exerted the warp. Skitarii squad Ohm-R3 has been deployed to investigate the Navis Sanctum as the servo skulls inside have been destroyed and no communication has been received contrary to protocol."

This was worrying I don't recognise the stars here and without a navigator it will take a long time to travel to the nearest forge world for repairs.

"Any Losses?" "Reports are still coming in but so far losses are confined to the lower decks and the majority of those are from the Skitarii bringing the serfs back into compliance." The vox master pauses "We have lost Magos Sonok, he was found fused to his work station."

Magos Sonok's death is highly inconvenient he held much knowledge and not it is lost.

"Scan this system I want to know were we are and where the closest forge world is." "Arch Magos the navigator is dead." The Vox master seems nervous. "Squad Ohm-R3 reports that he was mutating rapidly and requested a quick death."

My Mechandrites thrash as I process this, without the navigator we are stranded unless we wish to risk that warp storm again. I feel the ships Auspex activate, it seems the machine spirit is attempting to be helpful. Through the Auspex I can detect some sort of small space station over a nearby planet it's designed is unusual and it can't be more that 3 or 4 kilometres in size to small to service any Imperium Of Mankind ship. Before I can decide on my next order I feel the ship's machine spirit calling to me as I respond the it draws my attention to the view from a external optical. We are being approached by a grey triangle shaped ship.
