Chapter 828: Magic Overpowered by Physical Attack
Two days later, Thomas arrived in Atlanta, and after teaming up with Martin's lawyer, Hamlin, who had gathered detailed information, they filed a lawsuit in the Atlanta District Court.
Atlanta was Martin's stronghold, and with the full support of the Coca-Cola Group and state and city council members, the court immediately accepted the case.
After the summons was issued, the incident suddenly exploded in the media.
Inside the office building of Gray Film and Television Center, Kelly Gray appeared to be reading a piece of shocking gossip in a tabloid intensely.
"We have received confirmed information from the parties involved that a superstar born in Atlanta, during his school days at Marietta High School, had deep relationships with several female classmates. This public school had a concentration of ordinary Caucasians, Hispanics, and African descents. The high school nickname of this superstar was by no means weaker than now."
"In particular, an African-American girl got pregnant and insisted on giving birth to a boy named Paul, who benefited from his father's exceptional artistic talents and had been good at performing from a young age..."
At this point in the article, the first photo appeared, showing an African-American teenager whose skin wasn't very dark, looking quite like a certain superstar.
Kelly Gray and Martin had a deep understanding of each other; it was obvious who this so-called superstar was.
Louise Mel, who had just come over from the opposite side, was indulging in gossip online.
A highly popular anonymous post in a hot forum.
"Back when I was studying at Marietta High School, I was in the same class as Martin Davis. I remember very clearly that once during a school party, which had just started, the five prettiest girls all disappeared. Guess where they went? They were all taken away by Martin Davis alone! Martin was already a master at wooing girls back then!"
"When we found them, Martin Davis was taking on all five simultaneously, and he was particularly good at choosing them – blonde and blue-eyed, African descents, Hispanics, Asians, and Arabs, probably made him feel like he conquered the world, right?"
"This incident had a huge impact, several of the girls either dropped out or transferred schools. A few years ago, I met an African-American female classmate who was accompanying a teenager named Paul. The moment I saw him, I was reminded of my high school mate Martin Davis. How should I put it? Paul looked as if he was cast from the same mold as him."
In this person's account, not a single word mentioned that Paul was Martin's illegitimate son, yet it hinted everywhere.
Louise could tell at a glance that this was written by a professional.
Kelly Gray put down the newspaper and asked, "He looks a bit like him, could he really be Martin's illegitimate son?"
"Have you been eating too much protein lately, clogging your brain? All you think about is Martin stuff?" Louise mocked directly, "A black woman! You think Martin would hook up with a black woman?"
Kelly shrugged. "Back then, he was still an ignorant youngster."
Louise, however, shook her head. "The perceptions formed during the youth can deeply and permanently affect a person's life. His views weren't formed after meeting us, but were already there. With a black woman, not possible."
Kelly couldn't hide the disappointment on her face. "If it were true, we would have quite a spectacle to witness. Martin... haha..." She couldn't help but laugh. "That bastard has been riding on others' popularity since he started acting. It's funny to think that he might have his day of being frantically sought after."
"Martin's lawyer has sued this Paul," Louise said, "but I have a feeling that the other side was just waiting for Martin to sue, ready to use this matter to expand their own influence."
"You're right." The open office door allowed Martin to walk in, followed by Thomas and Bruce.
Louise couldn't help but jest, "Congratulations on gaining a son."
Martin ignored these silly remarks, snatched the mouse from Louise, and opened the YouTube link, landing on the YouTube homepage where a video featuring Martin's son, Paul, had made it into the hot search rankings.
Louise wrestled the mouse back and clicked on the video.
Kelly Gray also turned around, standing behind Louise.
It was a rap video featuring Paul.
He was dressed in red clothes, drinking Coca-Cola, frolicking among a group of beautiful girls. The song was a typical black rap style, with lyrics focusing on father and son.
It was filled with profanities and resentment towards his father.
After the video ended, Thomas spoke first. "This song is really hot right now, trending on YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram."
Martin frowned slightly. "Why does it feel so uncomfortable?"
"Because he's using your best tactics to market and hype himself up, and he's making you a stepping stone," Kelly explained.
Martin pondered for a moment. "I've never been this ugly a go-getter, nor pretending to be someone else's son. My success today mainly relies on 'being kept' by influential figures like you two."
Louise spoke softly, "That too, piggybacked."
Kelly laughed heartily.
Martin felt these words were too damn accurate and had no desire to argue.
Piggybacking was a real skill too!
At that moment, Thomas's phone rang. He answered and then stepped outside for a few words, returning soon after. "Quick, check out Atlanta Channel Six; that bastard is giving a TV interview."
Kelly pulled out a remote from a drawer, turned on the wall-mounted LCD TV, and quickly switched to Atlanta Channel Six.
