American Comics: The Strongest Villain

Chapter 201: Chapter 200: Superman Justice League?

"Aren't they going to wake Astra first?" Su Sheng asked with interest.

Indigo shook her head. "Astra is still under the effects of the Black Mercy flower, right? I don't know how you managed it, but it's going to be difficult to wake her up. Faora has taken over Astra's role and is now working as Superman's lieutenant alongside Non."

"The priorities are reversed," Su Sheng smirked. "The last time Astra attacked Rhodes Technologies, was it part of her plan for the Great Cleansing? Is that plan still in motion?"

"I'm not sure," Indigo replied, shaking her head. "I wasn't with them before this, and after discovering your power, they deliberately blocked my signal, so I couldn't gather much in-depth information. But one thing is certain: the satellite network of Rhodes Technologies hasn't been successfully breached yet."

"Keep collecting news about Superman. I'll review it when I have time."

"Understood."

As night fell, Jesse helped prepare dinner and then made an excuse to leave, probably to avoid witnessing what was likely to happen. Indigo retreated into the bracelet and continued gathering information on Superman while also digging into Siobhan Smythe's background. It became clear that Siobhan was a schemer, habitually using various plots to achieve her goals, but she lacked the strength to see them through. Conspiracies without power usually don't end well, and it seemed Siobhan had never fully succeeded. Interestingly, she hadn't used her femininity to her advantage before, and Indigo's research suggested she had never had a boyfriend.

It seemed that after arriving in National City, Siobhan had decided to change her tactics, with Su Sheng as her first target.

Siobhan dressed up in a beautiful outfit, carefully applying makeup before arriving at Su Sheng's home. She flirted over a few glasses of wine, and things quickly escalated from the dining room to the bedroom.

Just as the situation was about to heat up, Siobhan suddenly stopped Su Sheng, asking with a hopeful expression, "Will you be with me?"

Before Su Sheng could respond, his phone rang.

He reached for it, and Siobhan saw the caller ID: Kara. Her face showed a flash of irritation. "You're going to answer that? Now?"

"Why not?" Su Sheng replied with a smile.

With a look of disappointment, Siobhan said, "Maybe I was wrong. I should probably leave..."

As she started to get up, she suddenly felt a sharp pain and cried out.

"What are you doing?" she exclaimed in shock, not expecting Su Sheng's sudden move.

"You shouldn't make a sound," Su Sheng's tone turned cold as he covered her mouth with his hand, then calmly answered the phone. "Hey, dear, miss me?"

"You went to Metropolis? How did it go?" Kara asked, referring to Superman's recent siege of Congress. As his cousin and someone who had always looked up to him, Kara was naturally concerned, especially since Superman's actions were becoming increasingly extreme.

The news wasn't good.

Kara recounted how she had gone to Metropolis, only to find Superman mingling with the criminals of Rozburg. Instead of persuading him, they had a huge fight. She couldn't understand why Superman had become so extreme.

"Did you know? Superman has actually formed the Justice League with the people of Rozburg? They're all criminals, yet they've created a Justice League and plan to oversee governments and everything on Earth. They've even issued an ultimatum: the Earth must enter a period of peace, or else it will be suppressed by force."

"He's changed, completely changed!"

As Su Sheng listened to Kara's words, he smiled inwardly while he continued to engage with Siobhan, who was caught between pain and disbelief.

The phone call lasted an hour. When it finally ended, Su Sheng tossed his phone aside and looked at Siobhan with a smirk. "What were you asking before? About being with you?"

"You forced me... I'll sue you, expose you, tell Kara, and let everyone know what kind of person you are!" Siobhan weakly threatened.

"Don't be ridiculous."

"We both know what this is about. You came here for your own gain, and now you want to sue me? What kind of professional are you?" Su Sheng chuckled dismissively. "Would you have come here if you didn't know I was a shareholder of CatCo?"

"Don't think you can just latch onto me. Even if you moved from National City to Metropolis, you wouldn't stand a chance."

"Check your bank card when you leave tomorrow. You'll find it worth your while. Of course, if you want more, you know what to do."

Each word Su Sheng spoke caused Siobhan's expression to shift. By the time he finished, her anger had completely faded, replaced by resignation.

Su Sheng continued without a second thought.

The night passed in silence.

The next morning, Siobhan woke to find Su Sheng gone. Exhausted, she dragged herself up and noticed a young woman sitting in the living room. Jesse glanced at her and said flatly, "You're awake? You can leave once you're ready. And don't forget to check your bank card."

"Where is he?" Siobhan asked, still feeling dissatisfied.

Jesse didn't bother to answer.

Realizing Su Sheng was nowhere to be found, Siobhan begrudgingly gathered her things and left. Not long after, she received a notification from her bank—$100,000 had been deposited into her account.

"One hundred thousand dollars?"

Siobhan was stunned.

While $100,000 was a significant amount, it didn't satisfy her. Su Sheng was wealthy, and she had expected more. Did he really think she was that cheap? Seeing Jesse, she knew Su Sheng wasn't the type to be faithful to one woman. Even if Kara was his current girlfriend, it didn't mean Siobhan didn't have a chance.

Returning to CatCo, Siobhan planned to provoke Kara, but she found the office in chaos. Kara was nowhere to be seen, and the entire company was abuzz with activity. It was unusual for a media company to be this busy, so there must have been a flood of news. Without even asking, Siobhan saw countless reports about Superman and aliens interfering in various governments.

The words "Justice League" appeared in every headline.
