Chapter 6: A New Beginning
Alex's POV
Alex sat on the Seat of Honor in the Sefirah Castle, the mysterious and enigmatic structure that now belonged to him. His thoughts were a whirlwind of plans and uncertainties as he sifted through the memories of the body's previous owner.
This body belonged to Alex Holmes, an orphan who had lost his mother during childbirth and his father just a few weeks ago due to a sudden heart attack. The man was 25 years old, a history graduate from the local university. He worked at a small antique shop, earning just one pound per week—enough to cover his modest expenses. He had no siblings or other family to depend on.
As Alex mulled over his next steps, the serene silence of the Sefirah Castle was interrupted by Raphael's steady voice.
[Master, may I suggest that you begin acting as a Seer within a club? Based on my analysis of your memories, this would be the most effective way for you to digest the potion.]
Alex stopped tapping the armrest of the seat and nodded thoughtfully.
"I agree," he replied. "That does seem like the best option. Let's leave the Sefirah Castle for now and put this plan into action."
Moments later, Alex found himself back in the room of the body's previous owner. He pushed the blanket aside and stood up, glancing out the window. The moon hung low in the dark, tranquil sky, bathing the world in its silvery glow. A smile crept across Alex's lips.
"Let this truly be a new beginning," he murmured.
Omni POV
The next morning, Alex rose early, feeling a sense of purpose he hadn't experienced in what felt like an eternity. He prepared himself quickly, eager to set his plan in motion.
Walking along the cobbled streets of Tingen City, Alex took in his surroundings. The bustling energy of the city seemed different now—as though the world itself had shifted ever so slightly. Soon, he reached the modest but refined building that housed the club where he planned to act as a Seer.
Steeling himself, he pushed open the heavy door and stepped inside. The faint hum of conversation filled the air, and he made his way to the receptionist's desk. The young woman behind it was chatting with a colleague, but she immediately turned her attention to him when he approached.
"Hello," Alex greeted her with a polite smile.
"Good day, sir," the receptionist replied warmly. "How may I help you? My name is Alena."
"I'd like to join your club as a Seer," Alex said, his tone calm but confident.
Alena's brows lifted slightly in surprise before she regained her professional demeanor. "Sir, there are a few formalities to complete. There's also an annual membership fee of five pounds. You'll need to pay two pounds now, and the remaining amount can be paid in installments—one pound every three to four months."
Alex nodded, already prepared. He reached into his wallet, pulled out two pounds, and handed them to Alena. She handed him a form to fill out, which he completed swiftly.
After carefully reviewing the information, Alena smiled at him. "Everything is in order. The club operates in the afternoons, so you're welcome to come by from 3 PM to 6 PM. We look forward to having you."
"Thank you," Alex replied, his voice steady as he gave her a small nod.
After leaving the club, Alex made his way toward the antique shop where he worked. The end of the month was approaching, and he needed the money. The savings he'd used to pay for the club membership had come from his work at the shop, and he couldn't afford to deplete them further.
As he walked, he let out a low sigh, shaking his head with a wry smile.
"How ironic," he muttered under his breath. "A supposed mighty Old One, working in an antique shop to make ends meet."
The thought amused him, but it also fueled his determination. This was only the beginning.
