Clark didn't hesitate for even a second.

With that, he kicked the Mother Box away, sending the metal cube flying before it crashed toward the ground below.

Down below, Cyborg shot forward and caught the Mother Box mid-air.

Every thruster on his body fired at full power, turning Victor into a silver meteor streaking away at high speed.

But Homelander wasn't in a hurry to chase after him.

He had already marked Victor's mind. Whenever he wanted, he could use Mental Transmission to catch up instantly.

However, even if he managed to retrieve the Mother Box, it wouldn't mean anything unless he got rid of Superman first.

Homelander turned to Clark and said, "I know you want to use the Mother Box to bring Lois back."

"How about this—lend it to me for a day."

"I read a lot of books, hoping to find guidance from those who came before us."

"And tonight, I finally understand."

"Bringing Lois back might bring me some comfort, but it won't change the world."

"So… I should change the world instead."

Homelander paused.

A thought crossed his mind.

What if he pushed Clark a little further?

If he could influence, or even shape, the fate of the most important man in this DC universe…

The rewards would be unimaginable.

After a moment, Homelander said, "You won't change anything."

"Humanity is a primitive and violent species."

"If you read even a little history, you'd know that."

"If you want to ensure that nothing like what happened to Lois ever happens again…"

"You'd have to remove violence from the human race itself. But is that even possible?"

"Even if you use the Mother Box, I doubt it can be done."

"Humans have been trying for centuries—that's why we have laws, police forces."

Superman exuded an overwhelming presence, his entire being radiating an iron will that left no room for doubt.

Homelander felt that.

"Well, I think I deserve some special treatment."

Despite the sheer pressure emanating from Superman, it wasn't enough to make Homelander back down.

Homelander's grin widened.

Clark's entire body tensed.

The next second, his eyes blazed red as he let out a furious roar.

"You dare?!"

Superman shot into the sky like a meteor, streaking toward Kansas at breakneck speed.

Though he was incredibly fast, he wasn't quite at the speed of light. It still took him a moment to reach the farm—the place that held his childhood memories.

Or rather… what used to be his home.

Now, it was nothing but ruins from the previous battle.

Clark landed on the ground, scanning the area.

Then he saw her.

Martha.

She was searching through the wreckage for something.

Hearing the sound of his arrival, she turned around, surprise flashing across her face.

"Clark?" she asked. "What are you doing here?"

"Has the disaster passed?"

Clark froze.

And then he knew.

He had been tricked.

But seeing that his mother was unharmed, he let out a quiet sigh of relief.

Shaking his head, he said, "Not yet. Mom, this place isn't safe."

"I need to take you somewhere secure."

But as soon as he said that, another thought struck him.

If 'John' hadn't come here to harm his mother…

Then where had he gone?

Meanwhile, Victor Stone was still flying across the night sky.

But then, in an instant, everything around him blurred.

A firm hand clamped down on his shoulder, stopping him mid-air.

Victor's eyes widened as he looked up…

Right into the grinning face of Homelander.

"Why the rush?" Homelander asked.

"Come on, my thing is still in your hands."

The next moment, beams of searing heat shot from Homelander's eyes, blasting Victor out of the sky.

Then, wasting no time, he turned to the Mother Box, preparing to awaken it.

He had successfully tricked Clark into running back to Kansas.

But he knew that wouldn't buy him much time.
