[Ding! Xia Qingge is in a happy mood, +789 emotional points]

“Uncle Xu, are you satisfied with the report I gave you?” Xia Qingge asked with a smile, looking up at Xu Hao.

Xu Hao gently patted her head and nodded approvingly. “I’ve never doubted your ability to work. Keep up the good work…”

“Understood,” Xia Qingge replied sweetly, then rolled her eyes playfully. “So, does this mean I need to report to you every day from now on?”

“Of course,” Xu Hao replied with a smile. “As long as I’m in the office, you’re welcome to come by whenever you want…”

(At Shanghai University)

The bell rang, signaling the end of class.

Two sisters, Xu Shiqing and Xu Huayi, headed home together. Ever since they started calling Xu Hao “Dad” and moved back home, they had become much more lively.

The duo stood at the school gate, waiting for their ride.

Xu Hao had arranged for a skilled female driver to pick them up every day. Just then, a white Audi pulled up in front of them.

The sisters frowned. This wasn’t the car they were expecting.

The driver’s window rolled down, revealing a mature woman with striking beauty and a graceful figure. It was their third sister, Xu Hongjiao.

She had sent them a message recently, worried that they might be deceived by Xu Hao, and decided to come back to check on them.

“Wow… the school beauties are so gorgeous and cute.” Someone nearby remarked.

“The two sisters really do look identical. I can’t even tell who’s the older sister and who’s the younger one.”

“You can tell by their demeanor. The older one is more serene and gentle, while the younger one is more lively.”

“Also, look at the lady in the car. Her appearance and elegance rival even the school beauties.”

“Whoa, beautiful women really do attract beautiful women.”

Ignoring the chatter around her, Xu Hongjiao smiled at her two younger sisters and waved for them to get in the car.

Without hesitation, the sisters hopped in, chatting excitedly.

“Third sister, when did you come back? Why didn’t you tell us?”

“Did you bring us any gifts?” Xu Huayi eagerly asked, already anticipating something special.

“Of course I did! How could I forget my lovely little sisters?” Xu Hongjiao replied with a smile, taking out two exquisite small boxes while driving.

“Let me see what it is,” Xu Huayi said as she eagerly opened her box, revealing a delicate necklace inside.

“It’s a necklace…” Xu Huayi sounded a bit disappointed.

“You ungrateful girl! I put so much thought into choosing this gift, and you’re complaining?” Xu Hongjiao teased, rolling her eyes. It was all in good fun, just sisterly banter.

“Huayi, that’s no way to speak to our third sister,” Xu Shiqing scolded gently.

Xu Huayi picked up the necklace, pouting. “But the craftsmanship isn’t great, and these diamonds aren’t as nice as those colored gemstones…”

Xu Shiqing examined the necklace, realizing it was true.

Compared to the necklaces their dad had given them, this one didn’t quite measure up. But she couldn’t say that out loud. She didn’t want to hurt their third sister’s feelings.

At this moment, a few black lines appeared on Xu Hongjiao’s forehead. “This necklace cost hundreds of thousands at an LV store, and you think it’s worse than your fake one?”

Xu Shiqing couldn’t stay silent. She wouldn’t allow anyone to insult their dad, not even their sister.

“Third sister, how many times do I have to tell you? The necklaces Dad gave us are real.”

“…” Xu Hongjiao still didn’t believe it.

“Didn’t you hear what the eldest sister said? These necklaces are custom-made, and their designs have never appeared on the market. She estimated their value at no less than 10 million yuan. Do you really think that heartless man would give you something so valuable? It must be a fake.”

Xu Shiqing and Xu Huayi were so frustrated, their teeth were practically gnashing. They wanted to show the third sister the necklace and prove her wrong, but they had left them at home. After all, carrying something so valuable around was nerve-wracking.

“I’ll show you when we get home. You’ll see then.”

Xu Hongjiao smirked. “I came back to expose that guy’s tricks. There’s no way he gave you something worth 10 million yuan. I’ll be staying in the city for a while, so why don’t you move in with me? Otherwise, you’ll end up brainwashed by that man.”

The two sisters exchanged glances, both speechless.

Why didn’t their sister believe them? The idea that they’d been brainwashed by their dad was laughable.

“You can live alone if you want, but don’t drag us along. We’re perfectly happy at home,” Xu Huayi said, clapping her hands in disapproval.

Living with their third sister didn’t sound fun at all. Living with their dad was much better. He’d been teaching her calligraphy, and she was improving rapidly. There was no way she was leaving now.

Xu Shiqing nodded in agreement. “We’re all one family. Why do you want to live alone? There’s plenty of space at home, and your room is still reserved for you. Dad even has the maids clean all your rooms regularly…” Xu Shiqing said, trying to speak well of Xu Hao.

This was the advantage Xu Hao had gained by winning the sisters over early. The two sisters constantly praised him in front of the others, gradually changing their impressions.

Xu Hongjiao felt her head spinning. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing.

“You still say you haven’t been brainwashed? Didn’t you say in the group chat that you envied all the sisters who moved out? You even said you wanted to graduate early so you could leave that house.”

Xu Shiqing: …

Xu Huayi: …

This was awkward. They had indeed sent those messages in the group chat, but that was then, and this was now. Dad had been so good to them. Why would they want to move out? They planned to live with him forever.

“Third sister, if I remember correctly, you studied music and singing, right? You’ve never acted, so why are you so worried about our inner lives?” Xu Huayi teased.

Xu Hongjiao’s face darkened.

These two ungrateful girls… She had rushed back just for them!

As the three sisters continued to playfully bicker, the car pulled into the Xu family villa.

After getting out, Xu Huayi immediately dashed to her room and returned with the necklace their dad had given her.

“Third sister, take a look. Is it real or fake?” Xu Huayi asked proudly, clearly enjoying the idea of proving her third sister wrong.

Xu Hongjiao took the necklace with a serious expression.

When the sisters had sent photos in the group chat, it hadn’t seemed real. But now, holding it in her hand, she could tell immediately—she had been wrong.

The material and craftsmanship were exquisite, the gemstones sparkled brilliantly, and the design was so intricate that it captivated her.

Holding it made her feel like she never wanted to let go.

The necklace was already dazzling, but the two engraved words at the bottom brought it to life, adding a lively and lovely artistic touch.

Xu Hongjiao was shocked. How could anyone create such beautiful handwriting?

The two words perfectly captured Xu Huayi’s personality, far beyond what any calligraphy master could achieve.

The eldest sister’s estimate was way off.

How could this necklace be worth just 10 million? If auctioned, it would start at 100 million yuan, at least.

“Did Xu Hao really give this to you?” Xu Hongjiao asked in disbelief.

Xu Shiqing nodded with pride. Xu Huayi, however, seemed displeased with how she addressed him.

“Xu Hao? Is that what you’re calling him now? You should call him Dad…”

Xu Hongjiao couldn’t help but smirk. She thought of how Xu Hao had treated them in the past—moody, distant, and ruthless. The idea of calling him “Dad” seemed impossible, no matter how hard she tried.

As Xu Hongjiao stood there in shock and the twin sisters basked in their pride, the sound of footsteps echoed through the house. It was Su Wanqiu, the elegant and mature matriarch of the family, returning home.

“Hello,” Xu Hongjiao greeted her.

Although Su Wanqiu was her stepmother, the age difference between them was minimal. But everyone knew how kind she was.

When Xu Hongjiao was in school, Su Wanqiu always gave her pocket money and bought her gifts.

Because of this, all seven sisters held deep respect for their beautiful stepmother.

Yet, Xu Hongjiao was surprised.

Su Wanqiu had always been beautiful, but she used to carry a worried and melancholic air. Now, that sadness was gone, replaced by a sense of luxury and grace, as if she had been reborn.

“Oh, Hongjiao, you’re back? Why didn’t you let me know earlier? I would have prepared something delicious for you!” Su Wanqiu said, her initial surprise giving way to happiness.

With two daughters now living at home, the house was feeling more like a true home. The return of the third daughter was a good sign.

How wonderful it would be if all the sisters could live together under one roof…

“It’s okay, I just came back to take a look. There’s no need for any trouble,” Xu Hongjiao replied.

“What trouble? You’re home! You all chat for now, and I’ll go cook something for you.” Su Wanqiu said, heading toward the kitchen.

Xu Hongjiao raised her hand, wanting to suggest they go out to eat instead, but seeing how enthusiastic Su Wanqiu was, she let it be.

“Why does it feel like Mother Su has become a different person?” Xu Hongjiao murmured.

“Hehe… You don’t know, do you?” Xu Huayi leaned in with a mysterious grin. “Third Sister, let me tell you a secret.”

“What secret?” Xu Hongjiao asked.

“I’m telling you, Mother Su was completely won over by our dad. Every night, her voice changes because of…” Xu Huayi’s sentence trailed off, leaving a look of confusion on Xu Hongjiao’s face. But soon, she saw the mischievous glint in her sister’s eyes and the blush on Xu Shiqing’s face. She understood.

Xu Hongjiao’s cheeks reddened slightly. Then she began to scold her sister. “Xu Huayi, what are you learning in school? Instead of learning good things, you’re picking up nonsense…” She also blamed Xu Shiqing for not guiding their younger sister properly.

Xu Shiqing looked aggrieved. “I tried to discipline her, but she doesn’t listen.”

Just as the three sisters were in the midst of their banter, the door opened with a “click.”

Xu Hao walked in.

The three women fell silent as Xu Hao, holding a document bag, approached with a quick pace.

“Dad, let me help you with that…”

Xu Hao was about to praise his youngest daughter when a series of system prompts appeared:

[Ding! Xu Hongjiao is angry, +354 emotional points]

[Ding! Xu Hongjiao is filled with resentment, +586 emotional points]

Good grief, how much anger and hatred is this?

She’s already contributed so much emotional points just by seeing me. In response, Xu Hao could only think, “Keep going, don’t stop.”

Following the resentful gaze, Xu Hao saw his third daughter, Xu Hongjiao.

She was tall, about 1.75 meters, with a flawless oval face that could captivate anyone.

Her lips were well-defined with soft contours, and her long, silky hair flowed freely. She exuded a unique charm and allure. Her sharp eyes reflected determination and confidence, while a fierce aura surrounded her.

An ordinary person wouldn’t have the courage to meet her gaze, but Xu Hao was no ordinary person.

“Is Hongjiao back?” Xu Hao smiled as he walked closer, taking a seat on the nearby sofa. “How are things outside? I support you in pursuing your dreams, but if you encounter any difficulties, you must tell your family. I can still provide some help…”

Xu Hongjiao was taken aback.

Xu Hao was indeed different from before.

In the past, they were like strangers, barely exchanging words. But now, he was actually talking to her and offering help. She composed herself, trying to stay calm.

“He’s putting on a show,” she thought. To get her poetic and picturesque sisters to call him “Dad,” Xu Hao must have changed his approach.

But why? For her sisters’ sake, she was determined to expose Xu Hao’s true nature.

She immediately responded with anger, “I’m doing fine outside. The air is sweet, and I don’t need any help from you.”

Xu Hongjiao’s reaction was exactly what Xu Hao had expected, so he remained unfazed. Only he knew how he had treated them before he regained his memory.

The younger daughters were easier to handle, but with the older sisters, the challenge had significantly increased—especially after the death of his first wife.

Although she had been more of a caretaker for the children than a real wife, his daughters didn’t know that. They believed she was their biological mother, and Xu Hao had treated her with the same coldness as he did Su Wanqiu. It was no wonder they were angry with him.

“One day, they’ll call me “Dad.” Ignore me now, but you don’t realize you’re chasing after the crematorium.” Xu Hao thought, looking forward to the day when they would finally come around.
