Chapter 13: Escape plan
*Stella's pov:*
As I asked my mom why she was smiling, yet her grin deepened instead, and she whispered, "There's a way out, my dear. Call Fiona."
Fiona? How was she related to my dress and competition? Suddenly, the pieces fell into place. This was the same gown Fiona had bought because she wanted to look like a rich lady.
Excitement surged through me as I realized my mom's plan. I rushed over to hug her, giving her an extremely sweet kiss on her cheeks. My mom quickly gestured for me to keep quiet, warning me not to arouse my dad's suspicions.
I quickly called Fiona and filled her in on the plan. She agreed to help, and I felt a deep sense of gratitude towards her. My mom comforted me, and I felt assured that everything would work out.
With renewed confidence, I put on the gown and swapped my sneakers for heels. As I headed downstairs, my dad's eyes widened in awe of my beauty. He reminded me of the location and boasted about how I inherited my genes from him. I smiled to myself, knowing fully well that I got my looks from my mom.
After making sure the coast was clear, I slipped out and made my way to the flowers. There, I found the box my mom had left for me, containing everything I needed. I booked a cab and headed to the competition, feeling determined and ready to take on the challenge...
*Adrian pov:*
I woke up feeling invigorated, ready to take on the day. My dad had been eagerly anticipating this day, convinced that his long-lost love would finally show up. I knew better, but I couldn't help feeling a spark of excitement maybe it was of Mrs confidence, I hit my head after thinking of rubbish early in the morning...
As I checked my watch, I realized I had overslept – it was already 4:56 am. I quickly got dressed and headed out for a morning exercise routine. After a refreshing shower, I slipped into my customized black suit, worth millions. My wardrobe was dominated by black attire, earning me the nickname "Black Demon" among some. I didn't mind; being their nightmare suited me just fine.
With my hair perfectly styled and a spritz of my signature perfume, I headed downstairs to grab some breakfast. That's when I spotted Federick sitting calmly in the dining area. My instincts immediately went on high alert – what was this devil doing here?
I approached the table, my presence prompting Federick to stand up and greet me. "Good morning, Master Adrian."
I gestured for him to join me, and he sat down, though he didn't touch his utensils. Instead, he pulled out his files and began briefing me on the day's schedule.
"Today's competition starts at 8 am and ends at 4 pm. Your father ensured that—"
I cut him off, impatient. "I know, just get to the point."
Federick nodded and continued, "Your meeting with Karen Limited is scheduled from 8:30 am to 10 am, giving you enough time for the opening speech and the meeting."
I raised an eyebrow. "Is that all?"
Federick hesitated before responding, "Yes, that's all for now."
I made a decision. "Tell Karen that I want to meet him at the competition for the deal. If he wants a contract with me, he'll be there."
Federick nodded, taking note. "I'll get it done."
As we finished our meal in silence, I gestured for Federick to follow me. We headed out to the competition in my sleek, black Lamborghini, discussing business matters along the way.
As we arrived at the venue, I rolled down the window, and my eyes landed on an ethereal beauty...
