Chapter 3: What’s been happening so far
Spring of 1982, Japan...
(2 years timeskip...)
Ryūhei's POV:
It has been a couple years since I've been reincarnated into body named, Ryūhei. Right now, I am doing some writing, mostly notes, plans, and ideas in English. Thankfully, none of my parents know any lick of English, so for them to read is not a possibility for it to happen. So far, my life is doing pretty good, I have made significant improvements and changes as Ryūhei. I'll admit, it was a bit different for me personally, living in a different time, and not having any modern technology at hand took some time to get use to. Yet, I managed as it made me more focus in living a more productive life.
So during the past couple years, there has been a quite a significant changes I have made since then. I first started going outside more, mostly to explore and visit other places around the town, either by walking or riding my bike. I have been to a few notable places in this town, I first visited a stationary store where I have gotten a few writing utensils, and some drawings supplies. The owner of the store is very friendly and helped me out a lot.
Another place I went to is the antique shop, I gotten a few items, like some old instruments, like an acoustic guitar and a capo along with it. Though my parents had to buy strings separately and the guitar pick I use now is something I made from just cardboard and glue. Either way, it was quite nice for my parents help buy me the guitar and wholeheartedly supported my endeavour to "learn" and practice guitar and music for that matter. Although, I already knew how to play, I merely just pretended to be inexperienced so my parents won't get suspicious on why I suddenly knew how to play well. Especially when Ryūhei himself previously was kinda lazy. Though there is something unique I found about this new life and why…
(Flashback...)
Two years ago...
As I was looking around at my bedroom, I noticed something I forgot, a note by my bedside...
It reads the following,
Dear Ryūhei (formerly known as Alfred Joshua),
I send this message to you as an omnipotent being tasked with your reincarnation.
I have noticed your life has been cut short unfortunately, something beyond your control and the fault of my own. I was experimenting on reincarnation on someone else but accidentally sent on you. I sincerely apologized...
To make up for my mistake regarding you, I have decided to not only reincarnate you to a better life, but also give you a few perks.
1. You heal faster than expected with "High Regeneration." It gives the benefit of reduced aging and recover faster than a trained athletic individual.
2. You gain a much higher learning comprehension from your last life.
3. Lastly, You will be keep out of mental intrusion and interference. I also give you minor bonus of Semi-Photographic memory. It will give you a better recall and recollection but not remember everything, only things you deem important and necessary.
I also sent you an a magical iPod device full of music from 1950's to 2025, the year of your death, just for you to enjoy or do whatever with it.
Note: this is only for you, others won't be able to use it and it will look different to other people when showing this device. It maybe updated to include some new features, though very rarely.
I have to say I am very sorry for your untimely demise but I hope this makes it up for you.
Sincerely,
The Supreme Being
Wow, I did not expect that at all! As I am surprised about this revelation and put down the note.
(End of Flashback)
So yeah, I got some interesting perks on me and a cool music device, so I can listen to music from whatever period I am interested in. I can now recreate some songs on my guitar based on my perfect pitch I have been developing recently. Although it is still a work in progress as of now.
Anyways, I also been visiting a town market close by, it was pretty interesting how much things you can buy and sell there. I didn't buy anything really but it is something to check out if I needed to get something. Other than that, going outside more often and exploring what's around me, I also use the opportunity to exercise more actively and on a consistent basis. Especially when this body was a bit weak and scrawny.
I only just do some basics like, push ups, squats, running, and a little bit of a stretching routine, plus some other callisthenics and a jump rope exercise for workout. Nothing much really, although I did try to grab a few of my dad's weight set, but he calmly told me not until I turned 13 and then I would start using them. A bit unfair, but it is what it is.
I also tried to stick to general diet, mostly putting on more meat, protein, and complex carbs intake. This doesn't mean I neglected the additions of fruits and vegetables, I just simply put certain foods on more emphasis. I added dairy to mix as well in order to develop stronger bones and possibly grow a bit taller. I do sometimes eat junk food once in a while. I just try to have a bit more self-discipline on myself. That's pretty much what I do, nothing to special about it.
I also tried to get more involved with my peers at the elementary school I am attending currently. The school's called Midoriteichi Shōgakkō. It was a bit nerve wracking as it been years since I had attended an elementary school and I was worried about possible corporal punishment if I mess up. Thankfully, none of that really wasn't a problem, my classmates were fairly decent kids for the most part. Although it was bit surprising for them when I started being more active and participated in more of their activities, but it was a welcome change for them nonetheless.
It is fun to play tag, hide and seek, even a bit Otedama (Japanese bean bag game). I then showed them dodge ball, since when I first entered to the elementary school, there was hardly anyone who knows about dodge ball. Now, it is one of the popular games to play at recess. Honestly, it is awesome to be a kid again.

I did make some friends, but they're not exactly ones I can call close yet. Frankly, some of my interests don't align with theirs even. Regardless, I did try to be more open and show some my interests with them, even if they don't fully understand or are confused about certain things. My parents are at least happy I don't spend my time watching tv pretty much all the time now.
They are also quite content with me "learning" and practicing my guitar, learning how to sing, even me drawing things on my sketchbook. They are also quite happy that I even took up writing as a hobby. They gave me a bit more allowance to help me buy more art and writing supplies for myself. Though I would say it doesn't happen very often.
I notice a bit recently, how my parents are showing a bit more pride towards me now. From my grades dramatically improving in the past couple years to me socializing more, and even being more active regardless of what activity I do. They are glad I am not as lazy anymore, waste my time watching tv for the majority of my time, and jacking off. Especially when my dad showed a bit of a slight smile when I decided to actively exercise more.
My sister, Mayumi is now 10 years old. She keeps growing up as time goes on. She's not as clingy and close to me now, but we still have a pretty good relationship regardless. I tried my best to be a good older brother to her. I help her when she needed help, and try to watch out for her whenever she's in trouble. I obviously try my best not to coddle her and honestly she wouldn't like that either as she wants to be more independent. She is also growing taller and taller, in the past couple years, she went from 3'10 to 4'3 in height.
(Mayumi Image)
While I have grown from 4'10 to around 5'2 after a couple years. Mainly it is from my diet, my exercises, and having plenty of sleep that contributed to my significant growth spurt. It is not massive or anything but I am now considered one of the tallest of my class. I am probably about as tall as an average westerner at aged 12.
I did try to teach how to play guitar to Mayumi since a year ago now, and so far it is going fairly smoothly, she can now strum and pluck well enough that it sounds fairly decent. Not only guitar, I helped her get better at singing through my guidance and practice, she has now become a fairly decent singer as well. My sister is pretty smart overall!
As I kept contemplating about what has happened since my reincarnation since a couple years ago, I hear my sister called out to me.
Mayumi: Onii-Chan! As she exclaimed while she knocking at my bedroom door.
-What is it, Mayumi? As I went to the door and opened.
Mayumi: You're taking me somewhere with you remember. Tou-san and Kaasan are out work today. You have to take of me, Onii-chan! As my sister pouts and as she look at me with boredom.
-Well, what do you want to do? My arms cross.
-Alright! Let's go out and play. As I sighed softly but I was glad to be doing something else.
Mayumi: Yay! As she excitedly walks to her room to grab her stuff to go out.
I then grabbed my bag, filled with some notebooks and other utensils just in case. I also grabbed the house key as well. And let's not forget my wallet too. I decided not to bring that special iPod due to my fear of losing it, so it is left in my room.
As I opened the door, my sister arrived beside me and the we head on out. I then grabbed my bike and closed the door as we rode along while my sister sat behind me.
(End of Ryūhei's POV)
3rd person POV:
As they both went out, Ryūhei and Mayumi rode along across their town, Heichibasho. Seeing the various sites and places of their town. They first stop at a convenient store, because Mayumi wanted some candy to snack on. So Ryūhei stopped there and they went inside. After choosing a few brands of candies, Ryūhei paid for it, which was totalled to about 85 yen.
(Different part of the town)
Ryūhei couldn't believe the prices when he looked at some of them. Some of those were a bit pricey for a kid like him. Especially that he only has 245 yen in his wallet. They ate pieces of candy along the way as they rode.
After that, they kept riding along until they stopped at a park nearby the one of the neighbourhoods they rode past by. It was a quaint and modest park, and it has a playground area made of wood. The ground is made of stone and it has grass mostly all around it. Still it was a good area to play in.
They played hopscotch, using a chalk Ryūhei bought from home. They played hide and seek for some time. They also used the playground, which looks a bit old but still in good condition. Ryūhei uses the monkey bars to go across while Mayumi uses the slide. Though Ryūhei tried to do a pull up, but unsuccessfully.
After a while, they sat down at a bench to take a rest, before they went home of course. Ryūhei brought out a sketch book and pencil from his bag and started drawing the sites they have visited and the playground as well. Mayumi looks at his drawings with aww and kept watching his process, not even bothering him until he was done. Mayumi is without a doubt a well behaved little girl.
After Ryūhei finished his sketches, he put his sketchbook and pencil back in his bag, while they stood up and went back to the bike to go home. After Ryūhei finished his sketches, he put his sketchbook and pencil back in his bag, while they stood up and went back to the bike to go home.
(30 minutes later...)
They arrived home and Ryūhei opened the door as Mayumi then ran in and went to the living room to watch tv. Ryūhei made sure to lock the door after he gets in.
Ryūhei then went back to his room and decided read mangas he has on his bookshelf. While also practicing on making manga. They arrived home and Ryūhei opened the door as Mayumi then ran in and went to the living room to watch tv. Ryūhei made sure to lock the door after he gets in.

(End of 3rd person POV)
Ryūhei's POV:
Today was good day, and at least I bonded with my sister a bit closer now. I don't fully know why she decided to spend time with me today, but I am happy she is doing great.
-I wonder if I should start practicing my guitar after drawing and writing? As I put down my pencil and contemplated...
