Chapter 25: Chapter 25: The Aftermath and Daisuke’s Counterattack
The meeting had ended, but the tension in the Uchiha compound was at an all-time high. While Shina, Itachi, and Shisui had successfully exposed Daisuke's true intentions, the victory felt uneasy. Daisuke had been publicly humiliated, but he wasn't defeated—just cornered.
And a cornered enemy was the most dangerous kind.

Whispers and Divisions
In the days that followed, the clan was divided. Some members, particularly the moderates and younger shinobi, saw Daisuke's exposure as proof that his rebellion was reckless and dangerous. Others, especially his loyalists, believed the recording had been taken out of context, a trick to weaken their cause.
Fugaku Uchiha had placed Daisuke under observation, restricting his movements, but that didn't stop whispers from spreading.
One evening, as Shina and Itachi walked through the compound, they overheard a conversation between two older clan members.
"This power struggle is tearing us apart," one muttered.
"The elders need to take a stand," another replied. "If we keep fighting each other like this, there won't be a clan left to protect."
Itachi exhaled quietly. "The division is deeper than I thought."
Shina smirked. "Well, at least they're realizing it before it's too late."
But Itachi didn't share his brother's confidence. "Daisuke isn't done yet. He'll try something."
And he was right.

The Late-Night Ambush
Two nights later, Shina was on his way home from a late training session when he sensed something off. The air felt too still. His instincts screamed at him.
He stopped walking. "Alright. Come out."
Silence.
Then—shuriken flew at him from the shadows.
Shina dodged effortlessly, flipping backward and landing in a crouch. His Sharingan activated, scanning the darkness. Five masked figures emerged from the trees, their weapons drawn.
"Daisuke's dogs," Shina muttered. "You guys really don't know when to quit."
They attacked without warning. The first came at him with a kunai, aiming for his neck. Shina sidestepped, grabbing the attacker's wrist and twisting it, forcing the kunai from his grasp before driving a knee into his gut.
The second and third launched fire jutsu at him, but Shina countered with a water-style technique, dousing the flames before darting forward. He grabbed the nearest attacker and slammed him into the ground with a brutal throw.
The remaining two hesitated. Shina grinned. "Smart choice. Run back to Daisuke and tell him that next time, I won't hold back."
They vanished into the shadows.
Shisui dropped from a nearby rooftop, arms crossed. "You're enjoying this too much."
Shina laughed. "What can I say? I like a good fight."
But Shisui's expression was serious. "This means Daisuke isn't just waiting. He's still pulling strings, even under Fugaku's watch."
Shina's grin faded. "Yeah. And that means we have to end this before he does something worse."

The Next Move
Back at Itachi's home, the three of them sat together, analyzing the situation.
"He's getting desperate," Itachi said. "Attacking you in secret means he knows he can't win in the open."
"But that also makes him reckless," Shisui added. "And reckless people make mistakes."
Shina leaned back, smirking. "Then let's make him desperate enough to make a big one."
Itachi nodded. "It's time to bring this to Father. Daisuke needs to be dealt with—for good."
