Chapter 16: Chapter 16 Back to the Trivia
"Well, there's no one else now, so tell me, what's the deal like?" In the middle of the month, Anthony's brother and sister were asleep, looking out the window at the night view of Manhattan, New York, James poured two glasses of wine, and handed one to Anthony asked.
Anthony took the wine, looked at a solemn James, smiled, raised one hand in surrender and said, "Okay, I admit, this time the deal went a little wrong. Our mysterious big buyer seems to have some problems, so we can't continue the transaction for the time being. But that's okay, we have something better to offer."
'Oh? James was curious, knowing that he had seen the treasures in the Chamber with his own eyes, and that selling even a fraction of them would be a sum of money he had never thought possible. Now his own son said there was a better deal. What could it be?
Anthony, too, opened the box he was carrying to reveal a stack of photocopied documents, which he passed to his father with a sign: "Look at it."
Puzzled, James took the file and flipped through it. Much of the jargon was unclear, but he could understand things like effects. When he read one of the pages, he had the same look that Anthony had had when he read it: "Is this true? Has it been verified?"
"I've already done it," Anthony said, smiling and nodding, his eyes flashing with excitement. "Then we'll find a place to test it on people with similar conditions to my mother, and we'll give it to my mother!"
"That's great! 'roared James, shaking his fist in the air in delight.
James is not a man who cares much about money. He cares more about family. That's why he was so irrational when he heard that his wife had had an accident. Therefore, when I heard that my wife, who was unconscious and could not even help a famous doctor, might soon recover, I felt as happy as a child.
After a calm mood and a careful review of the documents in his hand, James looked up at Anthony with a solemn face and said, "Are you sure that the effects of the things recorded in these documents are real? If nothing else, it is the repair fluid that can speed up the healing of the injury, its effect is too exaggerated!"
Anthony nodded, with a serious look on his face. "Of course it's real. I worked really hard to get it."
"If they're real, that's going to be a problem, if you know what I mean, son," James said as he put the papers down and looked at Anthony.
Anthony, glass of wine in hand, walked to the window and looked out at the night view of Manhattan, his eyes deep. "I know, of course, that with the power we have now, if this kind of thing were to get out of our hands, the real big men who run this country would just eat us up, down to the bottom! So even if these things are rotting at the bottom of the warehouse, I will not take them out when I am not strong enough. I would buy a small private hospital and find someone there to test the medicine that could cure my mother's disease. Nothing will go wrong, you can count on it, Dad."
"It's for the best," James said, glancing again at the document in the book and locking it back into Anthony's box. Then he picked up a glass of wine and went over to Anthony. He put his arm around Anton's shoulder and said apologetically, "I'm sorry son, but your father was useless. He left you too little of a legacy. Cause you to do things have to worry about the shortest time, you can not maximize the benefits of their own things."
"Don't say that, dad," Anthony said, patting his father on the shoulder. "The Angry gang is good. My starting point is already higher than too many people. And the most important thing is that you've given me the perfect family."
'Have you? It makes me feel better when you say that, "James and Anthony said, tapping their glasses and gulping down the wine as they watched the Manhattan skyline at night.
"Congressman Chris, it's been a long time, you are still so spirit," after the return, after dealing with some trifles Anthony began to participate in some upper-class wine party, there is no way, in the comic world, maintain some official relationship is very important. In fact, Anthony himself is not interested in this kind of upper-class wine party, if you can, Anthony actually prefer to accompany his family at home.
When Councilman Chris saw Anthony, he said, "Anthony, it's been a while. What have you been up to?"
Although Congressman Chris is only a city councilman in New York City, it took Anthony a lot of effort to get in touch with him. In addition to the necessary political contributions and political promises, Anthony also used the ability of inception to plant something in his subconscious to his advantage. Otherwise he would have been like a New York City alderman and would not have paid any attention to himself as the boss of a small gang in New York City.
"I am thinking of buying one or two private hospitals and setting up a pharmaceutical company along the way. They are not big, but they will help create a few jobs in the city." Anthony continued with a smile.
Soon after, Anthony was introduced by Councilman Chris to meet some of New York City's top society figures. But although they smiled and talked to Anthony because of Councilman Chris, Anthony could see in their eyes that they were dismissive of a man of Anthony's stature.
"Come, Anthony, I'd like you to meet George, the new deputy commissioner of the New York City Police Department. Mr. Stacy, "I have to say that the subconscious command is really powerful. Congressman Chris introduces Anthony to everyone, even the police commissioner to Anthony, the mob boss.
"Chief George, it's an honor to meet you." Anthony smiled and extended his hand. Why does his name sound so familiar, anyway, Stacy? Looks like the Amazing Spider-Man's girlfriend's last name is Stacy, and it looks like her father is a police officer, too. Is this the one right here?
Chief George, because of Councilman Chris's face, can only reach out his hand to shake the mob boss Anthony, but as if he had touched a snake, he quickly retreated, then said sorry with a sullen face and turned away.
Anthony smiled and looked after him, muttering, "Funny, Spider-Man's father-in-law? I'll see you again."
After laughing and joking with acquaintances at the posh party, and making a token donation to charity, Anthony was seen off in his car like the rest of the crowd by Councillor Chris, the charity's host.
From the limousine, Bullock reports to Anthony Wire, "Boss, we've already made arrangements. FBI agent Mike should be on the hook tonight."
"Well, you guys can handle that," Anthony said casually. "I'm more concerned about what's going on with Big John."
"It sounds like he's actually negotiating with the Hand Club," Brock replied.
Anthony laughed: "Is old John crazy to get involved in this business? Pull teeth out of your hands. The golf guy is not a nice guy. It looks like Brooklyn is going to be a mess again in a few days."
When Brock didn't seem to understand, Anthony snuffed out his cigar and sneered, "He's dead!"
