Blessings of The Receptionist

Chapter 11: The Blessings of Forever

Kazuma and Luna found themselves walking hand-in-hand under a blanket of stars, the town quiet and peaceful in the late-night hours. They had just returned from a celebratory dinner that had started as a simple night out but had quickly turned into something more meaningful. It was as if the evening itself had conspired to give them this perfect, intimate moment alone.

They strolled slowly, savoring the silence that seemed to settle just for them. Every so often, Kazuma would give her hand a gentle squeeze, glancing over at her with a look that was both affectionate and nervous, as if he were searching for the right moment to speak.

When they reached the top of a small hill on the outskirts of town, Kazuma stopped, his gaze shifting from the twinkling lights of the village to Luna, who was staring up at the stars, a soft smile playing on her lips.

"Luna…" Kazuma began, his voice low and serious, though his usual teasing grin threatened to break through. "You know… I never thought I'd be standing here, feeling this way, with someone who gets me like you do."

Luna turned to him, curiosity sparkling in her eyes. "Oh?" she asked, her voice soft but with a playful glint. "And how exactly are you feeling, Kazuma?"

Kazuma took a deep breath, scratching his head in that sheepish way he always did when he was nervous. "Honestly? I feel like… I don't want to wait anymore. That mission we just did, fighting side by side, coming out of it together… it made me realize that I want to be with you for everything. Not just for tonight, but for always."

Luna's heart fluttered, and she couldn't help the soft laugh that escaped her. She reached up, pinching his cheeks lightly, her voice teasing but warm. "Baka," she whispered with a grin, "you're already talking about 'always' without even giving me a ring."

Kazuma's cheeks turned a deep red as he looked at her with a sheepish smile. "I know, I know," he mumbled, scratching his head. "But I just… I can't help it." His voice softened, and the usual playfulness in his gaze shifted to something more serious. "I really want us to tie the knot."

Luna's teasing expression faded, and her eyes softened as she took in the depth of his words. She took a step closer, her hands moving to rest on his shoulders as she looked at him with a serious, thoughtful expression. "Kazuma," she began, her voice gentle but searching, "are you really serious about this? Marrying me… that's a big step, you know."

Kazuma nodded, a seriousness in his gaze that Luna rarely saw. He took her hands in his, giving them a gentle squeeze. "I know it's big," he replied quietly. "But it feels right. When I'm with you… I don't want to be anywhere else. I don't want to wait, wondering if there's some 'perfect time' down the road. I'm ready for this now. With you."

Luna felt a warmth spread through her chest as she listened, her heart racing as she realized how deeply he meant every word. She bit her lip, trying to keep her emotions in check, but she couldn't hold back the way her eyes shimmered with tears. "Kazuma… are you sure? I mean, really sure?"

Kazuma's face softened, and he lifted one hand to gently cup her cheek, his thumb brushing away a tear that had escaped down her cheek. "Yeah," he said, his voice barely more than a whisper. "I've never been more sure of anything." His gaze was steady and warm, his touch gentle as he held her face, as if she were something precious. "Luna, I want you with me, always. For every single adventure, every quiet night, every moment. Will you be mine?"

A tear slipped down Luna's cheek, and she let out a soft, breathless laugh, her hand covering his as it rested on her face. "Yes," she murmured, her voice thick with emotion. "Yes, Kazuma. I will."

A wide, relieved smile spread across his face, and he moved even closer, his hand still cradling her cheek as he leaned in. Luna felt her heart race as she tilted her head up, closing the distance between them. Their eyes met for one last lingering moment before their lips finally touched, a gentle, tender kiss that carried the promise of every word they had shared.

They both wrapped their tongues around each other, they did this for about a minute until they both needed air, Kazuma wrapped his hands around her waist, he always loved her sexy body figure.

When they finally pulled away, Luna's cheeks were flushed, and Kazuma was grinning, his hand still resting gently on her face.

"You know," he said, his voice playful as his grin grew wider, "You might regret this. I have a feeling I'm going to be a handful as a husband."

Luna laughed, leaning into his hand and squeezing his other hand as they began their walk back home. "I think I'm ready for the challenge," she replied, her voice soft, her head leaning on his shoulder as they walked in comfortable silence.

For tonight, and all the nights to come, they had each other. And for them, that was all that mattered.

The days following Kazuma's proposal were a whirlwind of excitement, nerves, and endless lists as he and Luna threw themselves into planning their wedding. Their cozy home quickly transformed into "Wedding HQ," with every available surface covered in notes, sketches, and catalogues of flowers, fabrics, and cakes. It was a new kind of adventure, and for once, Kazuma found himself almost as excited as Luna—almost.

Kazuma was hunched over the kitchen table, his brows knitted in concentration as he scribbled furiously on a piece of paper. "Alright, so we need a venue, food, decorations, maybe some sort of entertainment," he muttered, jotting down items as they came to him. "And, most importantly, we are not letting Aqua near anything that costs money."

Luna leaned over his shoulder, laughing as she watched him frantically scribble. "You're really getting into this, huh?" she teased, giving him a playful nudge. "But you're forgetting the most crucial part."

Kazuma blinked, looking up at her with genuine confusion. "Huh? What am I missing? I've got the cake written down like three times."

Luna let out a sigh, part amused, part exasperated. "The dress, Kazuma! My dress. You don't expect me to walk down the aisle in my usual clothes, do you?"

Kazuma flushed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Oh… right. Of course, I knew that. It's, uh, right here." He added "dress" to his list with a hasty scrawl, pretending he'd remembered all along. "So, what kind of dress are we talking about?"

Luna's eyes softened as she drifted into thought, a dreamy smile spreading across her face. "Something elegant, maybe with a bit of sparkle, but nothing too flashy," she said, almost to herself. "And definitely something that's easy to move in. You know, just in case we have to fend off monsters or something mid-ceremony."

Kazuma chuckled, shaking his head. "Only you would be thinking about monster-fighting while picking out a wedding dress."

"Well, you never know," she shot back, raising an eyebrow. "And who'd fight them if they showed up, hmm? You'd probably be too busy cramming cake into your face."

"Hey!" Kazuma objected, holding his hands up defensively. "First of all, you're the one insisting on three different types of cake. But yeah… you're absolutely right." He winked, scribbling "extra cake" on his list as an additional note.

Luna shook her head, still smiling, as she settled across from him, resting her chin on her hands as she watched him work. There was something strangely endearing about Kazuma in wedding-planning mode, fully absorbed in the details. His usual laid-back, lazy demeanor had vanished, and she could see he was actually excited. Luna couldn't help but marvel at this side of him, wondering what else she'd discover about him in the days leading up to the wedding.

"Alright," Kazuma said, pausing to look up at her. "What about guests? We're not exactly… you know, popular. So who's on the list?"

Luna tapped her chin thoughtfully. "Well, obviously Aqua, Darkness, and Megumin. They're family at this point."

Kazuma groaned, already envisioning Aqua's antics. "She'd better not try to 'bless' the wedding with one of her holy water stunts… or 'test' the wine by drinking half of it before anyone else has a chance."

Luna snickered. "True, but she'd be heartbroken if we left her out. Besides, I'm more worried about Megumin. You know she'll try to work an explosion into the ceremony somehow."

Kazuma sighed but shrugged in agreement. "Honestly, it might be kind of cool. Imagine a massive blast going off right as we say 'I do.' Talk about a memorable wedding."

Luna rolled her eyes, though she couldn't help but laugh. "And Darkness… she'll probably take her role as 'protector of the ceremony' way too seriously. She'll be standing at the altar, challenging anyone who even looks like they might interrupt."

Kazuma chuckled, imitating Darkness's intense, dramatic voice. "'Dare to disturb the sacred union of Kazuma and Luna, and I shall smite thee!'"

They both dissolved into laughter, imagining the chaos their friends were bound to bring. Kazuma leaned back, looking unexpectedly content. "This is actually kind of fun," he admitted, surprising even himself. "Who would've thought planning a wedding would feel like… like we're planning a quest?"

Luna smiled, reaching across the table to squeeze his hand. "Maybe it's because it is our adventure," she said softly. "Just us, planning our future."

Kazuma squeezed her hand back, his expression softening. "Yeah… I guess you're right."

Over the next few days, their list continued to grow—and so did their team of "helpers." Aqua insisted on accompanying them to nearly every vendor in town, critiquing everything from the wine to the flowers. Megumin was busy drafting elaborate blueprints for her "explosive effects" to add a "theatrical touch" to the ceremony. Darkness, true to form, had taken it upon herself to "train" in advance, promising to guard the ceremony with her life.

The days passed in a blur of excitement, laughter, and (just a little) frustration as Kazuma and Luna's plans started to take shape.

One afternoon, Kazuma and Luna found themselves touring a beautiful garden on the outskirts of town. Cherry blossom trees lined the path, their soft pink petals fluttering in the breeze and carpeting the ground in a gentle pastel hue.

"What do you think?" Luna asked, her eyes wide with wonder as she took in the serene beauty. "Isn't it perfect?"

Kazuma nodded, unable to hide his awe. "It's beautiful," he said softly, glancing at her. "But isn't it a little… fancy? I thought you'd go for something more, I dunno, monster-proof."

Luna laughed, bumping his shoulder. "A little fancy wouldn't hurt, would it? Besides, this is our wedding. It should be beautiful. And if monsters crash it, you can handle them, right?"

He scratched his head, a bit flustered. "I guess you're right. If it makes you happy, then I'm in."

They walked through the garden, envisioning how it would look on their wedding day, with guests seated along the path and petals drifting down as they said their vows. Kazuma couldn't help but picture Luna in her dress, standing beside him with the cherry blossoms as their backdrop. He swallowed, feeling unexpectedly emotional at the thought.

"This is perfect," he murmured, squeezing her hand. "It's like… something out of a dream."

Luna smiled up at him, her cheeks tinged pink. "It'll be the best day of our lives." She gave her a quick peck to his cheek, "I know you'll take good care of me neh." She smiled, she then pressed her breasts on his chest, rubbing them slightly.

Causing Kazuma to make his mind blank, Luna stirred in her laughter.

"I love torturing you with my body." She stuck her tongue out and him, with Kazuma leaned in and kissed, they then wrapped their tongues on each other, Kazuma reached his hands and squeezed her breasts, causing Luna to moan, he then slipped his hands and felt her ass, squeezing them tightly.

Luna then let go of his mouth, "Saying our vows, I can't wait for that moment with you." Luna closed her eyes and enjoyed his embrace, Kazuma cupped her cheek, they both looked into each others eyes, And they both liked what they saw, Luna leaned and and kissed his neck, her lipstick leaving her mark and biting his ear lobe.

Back at home, Kazuma sat at their small table, tapping a pen against his chin as he struggled to write his vows. Every time he tried, though, the words came out clumsy, not quite capturing what he wanted to say. He groaned, rubbing his temples in frustration.

"What am I supposed to say?" he muttered, scratching out yet another failed attempt. "'Luna, I promise to… uh… never forget to take out the trash'? That's not exactly romantic."

When Luna came home, she found him surrounded by crumpled pieces of paper, his hair mussed from repeatedly running his hands through it.

"Having trouble?" she asked, stifling a laugh at the sight.

Kazuma looked up, flustered. "I'm trying to write my vows, but everything I come up with sounds stupid," he admitted, embarrassed. "I just… I want them to be perfect."

Luna moved to sit beside him, taking his hand. "Just say what you feel," she said softly. "It doesn't have to be perfect, Kazuma. It just has to be real."

He looked at her, his frustration melting away at her words. "You make it sound so easy," he said, his tone halfway between relieved and defeated.

She squeezed his hand, smiling. "Because it is, when it's true."

Kazuma looked down at their intertwined hands, feeling his heart swell. He took a deep breath and started writing, letting his thoughts flow naturally. And this time, the words seemed to come a little easier.

As the days passed, Kazuma and Luna continued to tackle their wedding planning, checking off items from their ever-growing list. Between choosing flowers, finalizing the guest list, and making sure Aqua didn't single-handedly bankrupt their wedding fund with "necessary upgrades," they both found themselves exhausted—but happy.

One evening, Kazuma found Luna sitting at the table, going over what seemed like an endless list of tasks. Her fingers were rubbing her temples, and her eyes were fixed in a focused, slightly frazzled gaze as she muttered about place settings and flower arrangements.

Kazuma couldn't help but chuckle as he watched her, sneaking up behind her quietly. Placing his hands gently on her shoulders, he began to rub them, kneading the tension he could feel there. "You're looking a bit stressed, Ms. Soon-to-be Kazuma," he teased, his thumbs pressing into a particularly tense spot.

Luna let out a small sigh of relief, her shoulders relaxing under his touch, though she tried to hide it. "I'm fine," she said with a small smile, even as he continued to work out the knots in her shoulders. "It's just… there's a lot to handle, and if I don't keep track of it all, I'm afraid Aqua might rearrange the whole thing into a 'divine celebration of her existence.'"

Kazuma chuckled, leaning down so that his voice was right by her ear. "You sure you're not turning into a bit of a bridezilla?" he teased, grinning. "All that focus and attention to detail… it's almost scary."

Luna laughed, swatting at his hand playfully. "Me? A bridezilla?" she scoffed, though the grin on her face betrayed her. "Please, I think I'm handling this with grace."

"Oh, is that what you're calling it?" Kazuma replied, moving his hands up to her neck, giving it a gentle squeeze before running his thumbs up the back of her neck. "Because I could've sworn you were muttering to yourself about 'perfect symmetry' and 'the sanctity of the flower arrangement' just a minute ago."

She tilted her head back, giving him a mock glare. "I don't think you understand just how important perfect symmetry is, Kazuma," she quipped, though she was smiling.

Kazuma chuckled, pressing a quick kiss to her cheek. "Hey, I'm just here to keep you from losing it completely." He paused, his tone softening. "But really, Luna, you're doing amazing. It's going to be perfect because it's us, not because of the flowers or the cake or the music."

Luna's smile softened, and she reached up, squeezing his hand. "Thank you, Kazuma. I know you're right… I just want everything to be perfect for us."

Kazuma brushed a strand of hair away from her face, letting his hand linger as he looked at her. "Trust me, the only thing I care about is standing up there with you." His voice was quiet, sincere. "Everything else is just background."

For a moment, they stayed like that, her hand on his, their eyes locked. And then, as if unable to resist, Kazuma leaned in, closing the distance between them and pressing his lips softly against hers. The stress and planning seemed to melt away as they shared a quiet, tender kiss, the world around them fading into nothing.

"Okay," Luna whispered as they pulled apart, her cheeks a little flushed. "Maybe I'm a little stressed. But I think you've got a good solution for that."

Kazuma grinned, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her close. "Then let me help you de-stress, Ms. Bridezilla," he teased, planting a quick kiss on her forehead. "Or should I say my bridezilla?"

She laughed, giving him a playful nudge but letting him hold her. "Careful, or you'll end up with a whole wedding theme based around explosions and monster fighting."

Kazuma chuckled. "Honestly? I'd take anything if it means I get to marry you."

The day arrived in a wash of golden sunlight, cherry blossoms fluttering softly in the breeze, as if nature itself had joined in the celebration. The garden they had chosen was more beautiful than they'd imagined—rows of white chairs lined the path, delicate flower petals creating a gentle aisle leading up to the altar. Friends and family were seated, murmuring with excitement, and Kazuma's friends were scattered throughout the crowd, each dressed in their finest attire.

Kazuma stood at the altar, shifting his weight as he adjusted his collar for what felt like the hundredth time. Darkness patted his shoulder reassuringly, and even Aqua, seated front and center, held back her usual antics, watching him with a quiet smile. Then, the music began, and a hush fell over the guests.

Luna appeared at the start of the aisle, and Kazuma's heart skipped a beat. She looked breathtaking, her gown flowing around her like water, delicate beads catching the sunlight. Her smile was radiant, and as she looked at Kazuma, her eyes filled with a mixture of joy, excitement, and that steady, unwavering love they'd shared from the very beginning.

When she finally reached him, Kazuma took her hands, unable to stop himself from whispering, "You look like an absolute goddess."

Luna blushed, whispering back, "And you… you actually look like a respectable groom." She winked, squeezing his hands as they shared a private laugh.

The officiant welcomed the guests, leading them into the ceremony. And finally, it was time for the vows. Kazuma took a deep breath, looking into Luna's eyes, his usual bravado softened by emotion.

"Luna," he began, his voice catching slightly. "When I first came to this world, I thought I'd just be another adventurer trying to survive, trying to make a name for myself. But then I met you, and… you were the one who really caught my eye." He paused, his voice quieter now. "At first, it was little things—how you always took care of everyone at the guild, how you looked out for everyone, no matter how crazy things got. But over time, I realized that you were more than just… well, someone I admired. You became the person I looked forward to seeing every day."

Luna's eyes shimmered with tears, and Kazuma continued, his voice filled with sincerity. "You made me feel like maybe… just maybe, I could be more than I ever thought I could. You've always believed in me, even when I barely believed in myself. You've been my strength, my laughter, my reason to keep going." He swallowed, his own eyes growing misty. "Luna, I promise to keep you laughing, to keep trying, to stand by you, always. I can't imagine this life without you. You're my adventure, my home, my everything."

The guests were silent, many dabbing at their eyes, and even Kazuma's friends looked touched, watching him with respect and admiration. Kazuma took a steadying breath, giving Luna's hands one last squeeze as he finished.

Then, it was Luna's turn. She took a breath, her voice soft but steady as she began.

"I always thought I'd be just a receptionist at Axel's guild, helping adventurers with their quests and getting everyone organized. I never expected that one adventurer would change everything for me," she said, a tender smile spreading across her face. "But then Kazuma came into my life, and… well, it wasn't anything like I expected." She laughed softly, the sound warm and full of affection.

"Kazuma, you made every day an adventure—an adventure filled with your jokes, your wit, and the way you always tried to make me laugh. And it worked, every time." She glanced at him, her eyes shining with love. "You brought this… light into my life that I didn't even realize I was missing. Somehow, every moment with you made my world a little brighter, a little more fun, a little more… full."

The guests chuckled softly, and Kazuma looked down, his cheeks turning pink as Luna continued, her voice filled with happiness.

"And it's funny," she said, a hint of laughter in her voice, "because when you asked me out, you were so nervous. You tried to play it cool, but I could see how much of a dork you were being." The crowd erupted in laughter, Kazuma looking down, blushing and scratching his head in embarrassment as he grinned sheepishly.

Luna smiled, squeezing his hand. "But I'm so glad I said yes to that nervous, dorky adventurer. Because that 'yes' led me to this moment, to standing here with you." Her voice softened, her eyes filling with emotion. "Kazuma, you are my joy, my partner, my love. I promise to be there for you, to share all of our laughter, our challenges, and our victories. I promise to keep you grounded when you're dreaming, and to let you dream when I know that's what you need."

Kazuma's smile softened, his eyes meeting hers as a tear escaped down his cheek. She lifted her hand, brushing it away gently, her own eyes shimmering with unshed tears.

"I love you, Kazuma," she finished, her voice breaking slightly. "You're everything I never knew I needed."

The officiant waited a beat, giving them a moment before announcing, "You may now kiss the bride."

Kazuma smiled, stepping closer to Luna and gently cupping her cheek. For a moment, they stood there, gazing into each other's eyes, savoring the final second before this dream became real. Then, he leaned down, pressing his lips to hers in a kiss that carried every promise, every shared laugh, and every quiet moment they'd shared.

The guests erupted in applause as they kissed, cheers and laughter filling the air. Kazuma felt Luna's arms wrap around him, pulling him closer, and for that brief, shining moment, the world melted away. There was only the two of them, holding each other as husband and wife.

When they finally pulled apart, Kazuma whispered, "So… how's it feel to be Mrs. Kazuma?"

Luna laughed, her eyes sparkling with joy. "I think I could get used to it."

He grinned, tugging her closer. "Good, because you're stuck with me now."

"Forever?" she teased, her voice soft and playful.

"Forever," he replied, giving her another quick kiss, his heart racing as they laughed together.

And with that, they walked back down the aisle, hand-in-hand, ready to face the next adventure as partners in every sense of the word.
