Chapter 13: Unfortunate Downpour
That Night,
The rain came down in sheets, pounding against the ground with relentless fury. The wind howled and whipped through the trees, causing the branches to sway menacingly. In the midst of this chaos, Helena's tent struggled to stay anchored to the earth.
With one final gust of wind, it gave way, tumbling through the air before crashing to the ground.
Meanwhile, across town, Xavier stood at the large windows of his villa, lost in thought. His gaze was fixed on the darkening sky, and he couldn't help but wonder how Helena was faring in her makeshift shelter. Suddenly, he noticed the approaching storm clouds and felt a surge of concern for her well-being.
Grabbing an umbrella, he rushed out into the rain, determined to find Helena and offer her refuge from the storm
Xavier's car sped through the rain-soaked streets, water spraying up from the tires as he desperately searched for Helena. His heart pounded in his chest as he worried about her safety, the rain making it nearly impossible to see through the windshield. Finally, he spotted her, struggling to salvage what was left of her tent. He slammed on the brakes, skidding to a halt beside her.
"Helena!" Xavier called out over the roaring wind and rain. He jumped out of the car, umbrella in hand, and made his way towards her.
Helena looked up, surprised to see Xavier standing there, his dark hair plastered against his face. "What are you doing here?" she asked, her voice tinged with suspicion.
"I couldn't leave you out here in this storm," Xavier replied earnestly, extending the umbrella over her head. "Come on, let's get you to safety. You can take shelter at my villa until the storm passes."
Helena hesitated for a moment, torn between her mistrust of Xavier and her need for refuge from the elements.
