Bloodbound Secrets

Chapter 17: Chapter 17: The Mission

Roy stood silently as he looked at his hands, feeling the power flowing inside him, but it wasn't stable yet. He breathed slowly as he tried to comprehend the changes that had happened to him. His red eyes shone in the darkness as Sebastian watched him closely.

"You've changed," Sebastian said as he put his hands in his pockets, "But has your heart changed too?"

Before Roy could respond, a mysterious voice crept into his head, it was the deep and familiar voice of the Dark King.

"Your power is now unstable, your body has changed, but your soul has not yet adapted. If you want to truly control your power, you must perform a simple mission for me."

Roy felt a shiver run through his body, he didn't know that the Dark King was still able to communicate with him. "What do you want?" he asked in an inner voice.

"There's a girl named Rose, she lives at the end of the area, she has blond hair, she's neither tall nor short, she's in her twenties. This girl has a magical ritual that will help you connect your soul to the power of darkness, without this ritual you'll just be a child holding a sword that he can't hold."

Roy frowned as he heard the words, he knew that the Dark King didn't give anything for free, but at the same time he realized that his new power wasn't yet under his full control.

"And what do you want from me in return?"

The Dark King laughed softly, as if his answer was completely clear: "That's something you'll know in due time."

Roy's consciousness returned to the present moment, he looked at Sebastian who seemed to be watching his features change. "It seems like you have a lot to think about," Sebastian said as he advanced towards him, "But before you go, I want to test you."

Before Roy could respond, Sebastian attacked him with lightning speed. He barely managed to dodge the first blow, but he felt the huge difference between his strength and Sebastian's. He gathered himself and attacked, they engaged in a quick battle, but it wasn't a fight to the death, it was a test of Roy's new strength.

Roy's strikes were faster and stronger than before, but whenever he tried to hit Sebastian, the latter easily dodged the attack as if he read his moves before he made them. "You still need a lot of training," Sebastian said as he blocked Roy's attack with one hand, "But there's something different about you now… something more dangerous."

At that moment, on a distant rooftop, an unknown person stood watching the fight. His eyes gleamed in the darkness, studying Roy's every move. This person wasn't just an ordinary observer, he was carrying a message for someone, someone who might be more dangerous than Taiga himself.

Roy, who was panting as he wiped the blood from his lips, straightened up and looked at Sebastian with determination. "I'm going to go find Rose, I have to get stronger."

Sebastian smiled lightly, "If you're serious about this, don't go recklessly. Power alone won't get you anywhere, you have to understand how to use it." Roy didn't answer, he knew he had a long way to go, but he had no other choice. He had to become stronger, not just for revenge, but to survive what was coming.
