Chapter 15: Chapter 15: The Hidden Truth
Aria sat next to Spy in a small abandoned café, surrounded by shadows and silence. The atmosphere was heavy, as if the air itself was heavy with secrets and mysteries. Aria took a breath before speaking, preparing to reveal the truth behind Spy's creation.
"Spy, there's something you need to know about your past," Aria began, her voice low and mysterious. "Something that can change everything you think you know about yourself."
But before she could continue, Spy interrupted her with an intense look, as if she was trying to chase away an inner demon.
"I don't want to know who I was," she said firmly, her voice filled with a determination that made Aria stop in her tracks. "I don't want to know anything about my life before the Consortium."
Aria paused, surprised by Spy's reaction. She had expected curiosity, not rejection. But something in Spy's eyes told her there was more behind her refusal.
"Why not?" Aria asked, her voice filled with curiosity. "What is it you're afraid of finding out?"
Spy shrugged, but Aria saw something in his eyes that made her think he was hiding something.
"It doesn't matter who I was or what I did before," Spy said. "What matters is what I am now and what I can do."
Aria slowly moved forward, understanding Spy's perspective. But she knew there was more to her story, more to the Consortium and its experiments.
"There's something else," Aria said, her voice low and mysterious. "Something that may explain why some people have powers and others don't."
Spy raised an eyebrow, intrigued.
"Tell me," she said curiously.
Aria took a breath before continuing.
"Years ago, the Consortium discovered a way to manipulate human DNA to create beings with superhuman abilities," she explained. "They used this technology to create people like you and me, people with unique powers and special abilities."
Spy frowned.
"Why?" she asked. "Why would they want to create people like that?"
Aria smiled sadly.
"Because they wanted to create weapons," she said. "Human weapons that could be controlled and used for their own purposes."
But then Aria paused, as if considering whether she should continue speaking.
"There's something else," she finally said. "Something that goes beyond DNA and genetics."
Spy leaned forward, eager to hear what Aria had to say next.
"What is it?" she asked curiously.
Aria surprised again, this time with a mysterious look in her green eyes.
