Chapter 1453 Having A Feast With The Family
-----
As we were about to eat lunch, the druids arrived in their animal forms, rapidly polymorphing back to their original human bodies, they came with a fourth member though. Someone that wasn't quite human… nor whatever I thought a Spirit could be either. It wasn't hard for me to quickly guess this fourth "person" with them was in fact the Urban Spirit they were talking about, or one of them.
"Goddess Elayne, we've come to eat with you as Rudras asked us," Granny Jannis said, walking to my side.
"We decided to bring along one of the Urban Spirits Rudras told you about," Judith said, as she quickly called the spirit to come forward.
"Oh? Urban Spirit, huh?" I wondered. "Hi! I was wondering what Urban Spirits were but… you're certainly not what I imagined.
"A-Ah… hello…" the Urban Spirit muttered.
His appearance was that of a boy, perhaps in his fourteen years of age? He had long purple hair and red eyes, and his skin was very pale.
The boy was wearing a black and gray colored school uniform, covered with blood and it looked ragged and old.
These clothes… as weird as they looked, were part of his body.
I also noticed a knife stabbing his chest.
It was certainly… Uh, quite unwelcoming of an appearance.
Although he looked cute, he also had quite a gloomy vibe.
"I have never seen an Urban Spirit before, but you remind me of a ghost instead…" I said. "Ghost usually keep wounds in their bodies and-"
"P-Please don't compare me with ghosts, lady goddess… Ghosts are souls that linger in our world because they have strong grudges…" the boy sighed. "I am an Urban Spirit, born from Urban Legends."
"O-Oh?! I had no idea that's how they were born!" I gasped. "I'm Elayne by the way, and… Uh well, the druids call me a goddess, but I don't really consider myself a goddess."
"I-I see…" the boy gloomily said, he had a slightly girlish voice, and he spoke with a very low tone of voice. "Me and a few others moved nearby because of you, Lady Goddess. Your presence and your Domain supplied us with plenty of spirit energy, helping us continue existing without threatening our souls with disappearing."
"So that's why you came here…" I nodded. "From where you came from, dear?"
"I am Julio the Stabbed… I am an Urban Legend Spirit that was created five years ago…" the boy said. "Children from a few schools began fabricating a tale about a boy that wandered the streets at night and was stabbed at one point or another… Uuh, and I was born!"
"E-Eh?! That simple…?" I asked.
I have never heard of such an Urban Legend though, but I guess anything can become one if a lot of people just create it and spread it, even if it didn't exist at all before.
"Urban Spirits are born this way, through belief and faith similar to how gods are made," explained Jannis. "However, they're passing beings, their existence is very short as so are the Urban Legends created. However, their existence is based on the collective belief of these people. And because they're so few, and they never become famous, they disappear once their energy depletes."
"However, if we work hard enough to make our Urban Legend believable by scaring people, we can continue existing as the belief of our existence increases!" the boy became more energetic. "But… uh, that doesn't work quite well with me."
"I see, so you're like ghosts then…" I nodded.
"I-I'm not a ghost…!" the boy cried, looking a bit sad.
"A-Ah, sorry, sorry…" I apologized. "Well, we could talk more while eating… Though your appearance is a bit scary. Can't you take out the knife at least?"
"It's part of my body…" Julio the Stabbed said. "They used this knife to stab my body fifty times… According to the tale. Did you know?"
"O-Oh…" How exactly are these spirits not ghosts?!
"But I could cover it with my hair tied like this…" Julio the Stabbed tried his best, wrapping his long, ghostly hair around his chest and waist, looking a bit funny, but at least he wasn't as gory anymore. "I-Is this better, Lady Goddess?"
"Sure is!" I nodded. "Now, um, do you eat food?"
"I-I can…" he said. "But, um, what type of food? I like… sweets."
"I could give you sweets, sure," I shrugged. "Come on, sit down, let's eat and talk some more. We should introduce you to my family as well. Are there more like you around?"
"Yeah, I'm the youngest and weaker of the bunch…" the boy nodded. "Our leader is a Wendigo."
"W-Wendigo?" I asked. "A monster?"
"Not a monster, he's a spirit like me…" Julio the Stabbed said. "Wendigo are, after all, Urban Legends as well."
"Are there multiple Wendigos?" I wondered.
"Yes, it is among the most famous Urban Legends in the entire world after all…" He nodded. "We are usually bound in a single area or space, it took me a lot of effort to get here from my designated area of existence… but once I got here, my exhaustion was relieved. Well, our leader is different, Wendigo can go anywhere because their belief is so strong."
"Wow…" I nodded. "There's so many things I don't know about this world…"
The more I learn, the more amazed I am at what was hidden beneath my own noses this entire time, it's honestly quite surprising and incredible.
Anyway, we sat down to finally eat and enjoy the food, I called my daughter and Gabriel to join us as well. Katherine and Kaguya didn't really like eating meat or having lunch either, so they skipped it.
"Alright everyone, I hope you like the food we made!" I said. "First of all I want you to taste this Jurassic burger and tell me how it is!"
"Jurassic Burger…" Mark muttered. "Wow, it's huge."
"Let's eat!" I said happily, taking a big bite out of it.
Everyone else followed me too, taking a big bite out of the hamburger.
And…
The flavors, juices, everything came together deliciously with the soft bun, the melted cheese, the tomato, onions, lettuce, and sauces.
Oh wow!
FLUOSH!
And I even felt a surge of energy through my entire body.
A single bite made me feel super energized, it was insane! Experience tales with My Virtual Library Empire
