Chapter 322 : Know Your Place...!
As Das maintained his calm and patient demeanour outside the camp's check post, the scenario soon took an unexpected turn. A platoon of soldiers emerged from the camp, their disciplined formation suggesting their affiliation with the Aries family.
At the forefront of this assembly was none other than the third husband of Sophia, who approached Das with a seemingly welcoming smile.
Addressing Das with a polite yet formal tone, he extended the invitation. "Sir, my Madam is awaiting your arrival. Please come with me." His words, though courteous, carried an air of formality that hinted at the hierarchy and dynamics within the camp.
Das observed the approach of the platoon and the third husband, his senses attuned to the nuances of the situation. Acknowledging the summon, he nodded in acquiescence, his expression resolute as he prepared to follow the third husband.
The third husband led the way, walking before Das's Range Rover, while the platoon of soldiers fell in line, their synchronised footsteps punctuating the air.
As they embarked on this procession towards Sophia's presence, Das's focus remained unwavering, his mind sharpened for whatever awaited him within the camp's confines. The sense of anticipation in the atmosphere was palpable, setting the stage for a potentially significant encounter.
As Das followed the marching soldiers, he couldn't help but feel a sense of curiosity mixed with caution. The Aries family soldiers were behaving oddly, treating him almost like a distinguished guest rather than an intruder. The car moved slowly through the camp, surrounded by soldiers standing in a rainbow formation, a display of discipline and order.
Finally, the procession led Das to the heart of the camp, where an elegant shelter stood in a commanding position. Inside the dimly lit tent, Sophia awaited him with an air of confidence.
She was seated before a table, her posture exuding a mix of allure and authority. Her choice of attire, a tight-fitting outfit that revealed a deep cleavage, seemed designed to captivate attention.
The atmosphere in the tent was serene, almost like a sanctuary of silence. The third husband, who had initially informed Sophia about Das's presence, gestured for him to take a seat before her. The other husbands of Sophia, the men who shared her life, stood at a respectful distance within the tent.
As Das settled into his seat, he couldn't help but observe the stark contrast between the ambiance and his expectations. He had anticipated a more confrontational environment, but what he found was an air of quiet tension, as if everyone present was aware of the weight of the situation.
The hushed surroundings and the way Sophia held herself conveyed a sense of control that intrigued and, to some extent, puzzled him.
It was clear that Sophia had orchestrated this meeting with a purpose. Her intent was not to intimidate him, but rather to engage in a conversation.
For a second Das felt like he came for dinner in a deserted place as the ambience is completely opposite of what he expected.
Inside the dimly lit tent, Sophia and Das found themselves sitting across from each other, their gazes locked in a subtle battle of wills. Sophia's seven husbands stood with unwavering focus, ready to execute her commands at a moment's notice. The air in the tent seemed to thicken with the tension that lingered between the two.
Breaking the silence, Sophia stood gracefully and walked over to a table where a bottle of rare wine bearing the Aries family insignia awaited. With practiced ease, she uncorked the bottle and poured the wine into an exquisite glass.
As she bent slightly to place the glass before Das, she couldn't help but anticipate his reaction to her alluring attire. However, her attempt to distract him with a subtle display of cleavage didn't have the intended effect.
Das's eyes remained fixed on her sky-blue eyes, seemingly impervious to the sensual tactics she had employed. His steady gaze bore into her, revealing a depth of understanding that unsettled her. Sophia had underestimated the man before her, and she found herself captivated by his unwavering composure.
As the wine glass found its place before Das, a fleeting moment of tension passed between them. Sophia couldn't help but wonder if he suspected any hidden motives behind the glass.
But what she don't know was, Das already scanned the wine glass for any foreign materials. More than that her sky blue eyes already revealed her family origin to Das.
With the wine glass in hand, Das adopted a relaxed posture, leaning back in his chair. He crossed one leg over the other, exuding an air of confidence that seemed almost untouchable. The subtle play of his fingers swirling the wine inside the glass spoke volumes about his analytical nature. As he finally took a sip, his demeanour remained composed, free of worry or nervousness.
Sophia couldn't help but be impressed by Das's demeanour and actions. She scrutinised his every move, studying his body language, and assessing the depths of his presence. What began as a strategic encounter had taken an unexpected turn, evolving into a subtle battle of intellects where every gesture and word held significant meaning.
A profound silence enveloped the tent, as both Das and Sophia engaged in a subtle battle of patience, waiting for the other to break the quietude. Eventually, it was Das who broke the stillness, setting his wine glass aside and directing an inquisitive gaze toward Sophia.
"Can you tell me why I owe this pleasure?" he asked, his tone laced with curiosity. However, his choice of addressing her informally did not sit well with her third husband.
"How dare to call her informally. Address her as madam or master. Otherwise..." the third husband who started razing up on Das immediately calmed down as Sophia gestured him to shut up.
"Know your place before meddling in my business. Kneel down," she ordered him sternly, her words carrying a weight of authority. The third husband obediently dropped to his knees, recognising his place in the hierarchy. Sophia's firm control over her husbands was clear, as she asserted her dominance.
Sophia quickly shifted her demeanour, softening her expression and adopting a cheerful tone. "Sorry for the inconvenience. My third husband has a bit of a short temper. Please ignore him," she said with a slight chuckle, attempting to ease the tension. "You can call me Sophia." Experience tales with My Virtual Library Empire
Das absorbed the scene before him, piecing together the dynamics at play. He observed the seven men standing behind Sophia, their expressions ranging from subservience to loyalty. It dawned on him that these men were, indeed, her husbands—a realisation that added an intriguing layer to the situation.
Sophia's aura of control and the unusual arrangement of her relationships made Das even more curious about her motives and intentions.
