Capone: Fortress of Ambition

Chapter 12: Chapter 12: Bounty Hunter Debut

The fact that he hadn't mastered Armament Haki had always been a source of anxiety for Bege. Now, with a way to purchase the training method, Bege saw a glimmer of hope.

He knew all too well the importance of Haki in the world of One Piece. Even though the purchase price for Armament and Observation Haki was exorbitant, he had to acquire them.

After Wright left, Bege and Rod took stock of the family's assets. In the past month, the Capone Family had expanded rapidly, seizing considerable wealth from the various gangs and mafias they'd defeated. Currently, they could scrape together around 500 million Berries, enough to purchase the Armament Haki training method.

However, the Capone Family's territory had now expanded dozens of times over, and it had only recently been pacified. Restoring commercial trade would require a certain amount of capital investment; they couldn't just take all the money at once.

After discussing it with Rod, Bege decided to purchase the Armament Haki training method first. Later, they would earn bounty money by hunting pirate crews, just as they had done with the Black Tiger Pirates and the Iron Shield Pirates.

With Bege's strength, as long as he targeted pirate crews with bounties under 100 million, he could easily take them down.

Having made the decision, Bege immediately contacted the mafia members under the Capone Family's control, instructing them to gather information on nearby pirate crews.

Bege also contacted Wright using the Den Den Mushi Wright had left behind, confirming his decision to purchase the Armament Haki training method.

The next day, Wright arrived again. Money in one hand, goods in the other – Bege now possessed the training method for Armament Haki.

Bege gathered his core subordinates, including Modi, and informed them of the Armament Haki training method. Then, they began their training.

Several days later, the gang members under his command had begun to send back information on pirate crews near various islands.

Bege put aside his Armament Haki training, gathered a dozen or so elite subordinates, and quietly left Sassi Island on a small boat.

Aida Island was a small island in the nearby waters. Bege had received information that a pirate crew was currently resting there. Bege and his men arrived at Aida Island as quickly as possible.

After the boat docked, a group of strange individuals wearing bizarre masks and large robes that completely concealed their appearances disembarked.

This group was Bege and his men. This time, he planned to conceal his identity and play the role of a bounty hunter. He couldn't let the Marines know his true identity.

"Split into two groups. Hank, you take your men and eliminate the remaining crew members on the Raging Bull Pirates' ship. Secure the ship. We'll deal with the main force of the pirate crew," Bege said in a muffled voice, intentionally altering his tone.

"Yes, Godfather," Hank replied immediately. He took nine men and headed towards the pirate ship on the shore.

Bege, along with the remaining five men, entered the town. The entire town was gripped by fear and unease due to the arrival of the Raging Bull Pirates. Fortunately, the Raging Bull Pirates were wary of the Capone Family, who had recently conquered the surrounding seas, and had refrained from widespread slaughter and looting on Aida Island.

This was the deterrent power of the strong.

The absolute powerhouses of the sea, such as the Four Emperors who ruled the four seas in the age of great pirates, could protect an island with just their flag.

They casually asked someone on the street for the location of the Raging Bull Pirates. It turned out that the pirates were currently drinking in a tavern in the town.

Bege and his men arrived at the tavern's entrance. Inside, the tavern was filled with boisterous shouts and the sounds of the pirates drinking and reveling without restraint.

Bege pushed open the door and entered. Their peculiar attire immediately drew the attention of the Raging Bull Pirates.

A drunk pirate near them stumbled to his feet, pointed at Bege and his men, and slurred, "This place is reserved for the Raging Bull Pirates! Get the hell out of here!"

The moment he finished speaking, boom! The pirate flew backwards, smashing through the bar counter and crashing into the wall. The wall itself cracked from the impact. He slid down the wall like a corpse, his face completely devoid of consciousness.

This sudden turn of events silenced the tavern instantly. The pirates of the Raging Bull crew jumped to their feet, drawing their weapons and aiming them at Bege and his men.

A burly man among the pirates, his face dark, glared at Sam with eyes burning with fury.

"I am the captain of the Raging Bull Pirates! Are you looking for trouble? Who are you? State your name!"

"We are a bounty hunter group..."

"Bounty hunters? Damn it, kill them!" Before Bege could finish speaking, the captain of the Raging Bull Pirates, upon hearing the words "bounty hunter group," immediately pulled out his pistol and fired at Bege. The other pirates also attacked, with four or five guns firing simultaneously. The tavern erupted in gunfire.

Bege drew the sword at his waist, effortlessly deflecting the incoming bullets.

Clink, clatter, clink. Bullets fell to the floor.

"Boss, he blocked the bullets..." The pirates, seeing the bullets on the floor, were pale with terror, barely able to stand.

The captain of the Raging Bull Pirates also looked grim. They had traveled far and wide on the seas and had seen a lot. He knew that anyone who could block bullets was a powerhouse of the Grand Line.

"Brothers, these people are bounty hunters! If we want to live, we have to fight with everything we've got! Brothers, we have the numbers! We can overwhelm them! Charge!" The captain of the Raging Bull Pirates gritted his teeth and roared. His trusted subordinates pushed the other pirates forward, and dozens of pirates charged at Bege and his men, wielding swords and axes.

"Godfather, leave these small fries to me," Sam said with a contemptuous sneer. He drew a long sword from his waist, his figure blurring as he charged into the fray. One by one, the charging pirates were cut down.

Seeing this, the captain of the Raging Bull Pirates grew even more terrified. He didn't dare to engage in combat and hastily rushed towards a window, smashing it open and fleeing.

"I'll go get him," Modi said softly, his figure blurring as he swiftly left the tavern.

All the pirates in the tavern were brought down by Sam alone, collapsing to the floor with screams and groans.

"These guys are too weak," Sam said, looking unsatisfied.

"Today is just the beginning. There will be plenty of opportunities for you to fight in the future," Bege said with a smile.

Sam's face was filled with anticipation. Moments later, Modi returned, carrying a corpse – the captain of the Raging Bull Pirates who had tried to escape.

"This guy's bounty is only 30 million, but every little bit counts," Bege said, glancing at the head. If it weren't for the bounty, he wouldn't have traveled so far to bother with him.

"Take all those with bounties on their heads, and take those without bounties as well. The family is in need of manpower right now. These good-for-nothings are perfect for mining," Bege ordered.

Sam and the others tied up all the men on the ground and brought them to the harbor. The ship belonging to the Raging Bull Pirates was already under the control of Hank and his men.

"Godfather, we've tallied up the Raging Bull Pirates' treasure. It's a little over 20 million," Hank reported.

"Not a bad haul," Bege said, nodding slightly.

Bege and his men left the island on the pirate ship and their own small boat. On the vast, boundless sea, he locked up the pirates without bounties in his castle body, keeping the pirates with bounties to be delivered to the Marines for the reward money.
