Capone: Fortress of Ambition

Chapter 30: Chapter 30: Lawless Zone

Bege and his crew quickly arrived at Grove 29. Although Groves 1-29 were collectively known as the lawless zone, the most heinous criminals were primarily concentrated in Grove 16.

"You guys, go find out which pirate crews are currently docked on the island. We'll meet up at Grove 16," Bege instructed four of his disciples.

"Yes, sir!" The four disciples immediately acknowledged and quickly dispersed.

Bege, along with Modi and the others, headed towards Grove 16. On the streets of the lawless zone, you could see people carrying weapons everywhere. Civilians would go out of their way to avoid them.

Some of these people were bounty hunters, while the others were pirate thugs.

"Bege, we don't know these criminals. We need some information," Modi pointed out.

"There are plenty of bounty hunters here. Their targets are those criminals and pirates. They must know the criminals on the island like the back of their hands. Why don't we just ask a few bounty hunters?" Bege said casually.

Just then, five men carrying weapons approached them head-on. The leader was a burly, imposing man. They walked down the center of the street, and any civilians who encountered them immediately moved aside.

"Get out of the way!" As the five men approached, the burly man barked.

Bege raised his eyes and met the burly man's gaze. The burly man's face instantly froze, revealing a look of terror, and he gulped nervously.

"Our boss told you to get out of the way, didn't you hear?" the red-haired youth behind the burly man shouted arrogantly.

The red-haired youth, who was intending to use his boss's authority to intimidate others, was promptly slapped to the ground by the burly man. The burly man then obsequiously moved aside.

"Sir, my subordinate is ignorant. Please don't take offense."

His subordinates were dumbfounded. Their boss's change of face was too quick.

"You damn fools, get out of the way for these gentlemen!" The burly man berated his subordinates, who quickly and sheepishly made way.

"Please, sirs, go ahead," the burly man said hastily, then pulled up the red-haired youth and, along with his three other subordinates, quickly fled.

"Boss, who was that? Why were you so afraid of him?" the red-haired youth, who had been slapped, asked aggrievedly.

"You idiot! Can't you use your eyes? That was a murderous god! If I hadn't stopped you, you might be dead already." The burly man felt a lingering fear. When he had locked eyes with Bege, it felt like he was being stared down by a monstrous beast, about to be killed at any moment. Only a truly strong person could possess such a gaze.

"Thank you, Boss, for saving my life!" The red-haired youth, believing that his boss knew who Bege was, quickly expressed his gratitude.

"Wait a moment."

Suddenly, a light voice drifted into their ears, causing the five men to freeze. The burly man turned around with difficulty, fawning, "Sirs, is there anything else?"

"Are you bounty hunters?" Bege asked.

The burly man's eyes darted around, and he quickly nodded in affirmation.

"Then you should know which high-bounty criminals are in the lawless zone, right?" Bege continued.

The burly man hurriedly said, "I do, I do! I have wanted posters of those criminals. Red, give the wanted posters to these gentlemen."

"There's no need for that. You'll come with us and lead us to those criminals," Bege said calmly.

The burly man's face stiffened, and he stammered, "Th-This... Sir, my wife is about to give birth. I don't have time. Sir, please find other bounty hunters."

His four subordinates looked at him with disdain. Their boss didn't even have a wife.

"Godfather, this guy is being disrespectful. We should just kill him," Hank said with a sinister grin.

The burly man's heart pounded, and he looked fearfully at Bege. Bege's indifferent, terrifying gaze made him break out in a cold sweat.

"Sir, I have time! I'll take you there right now."

"Good. Lead the way," Bege nodded slightly.

"What are you waiting for? Hurry up and lead the way for these gentlemen!" The burly man snapped at his four subordinates, then obsequiously ran to Bege's left front. The five of them, like quails, led the way.

They arrived at Grove 16. The buildings on the island were dilapidated, some even broken. There were sword and knife marks on the walls, clearly the result of many battles.

He also saw a skeleton wearing a Marine uniform nailed to the wall of a dilapidated building.

The burly man suddenly stopped, fear evident on his face. "Sir, do you see those buildings? That's where the criminals often gather. It's called the 'Den of Scoundrels.' There are even extremely vicious criminals with bounties over 100 million inside. The Marines don't dare go in, let alone us."

"What's there to be afraid of? Lead the way. If you keep talking nonsense, I'll break your legs," Hank said irritably.

"Take us there quickly. I guarantee your safety," Bege glanced at him.

The burly man had no choice but to continue forward. They arrived at a cluster of dilapidated buildings. Seven or eight Marine skeletons were hanging on the gate outside the complex, a chilling sight.

"The Marine Headquarters is nearby, yet they allow such a lawless place to exist right under their noses. Hmph!" Bege snorted coldly, showing his disdain for the Marines.

Bege entered the gate. Inside was a street, where four fierce-looking men were chatting.

"Are they bounty criminals?" Bege asked.

"The bald one has a bounty," the burly man said, trembling.

Bege nodded and said calmly, "These people are all villains. They've all taken lives, so show no mercy."

"Godfather, I've been waiting for you to say that!" Hank's small face twisted into a ferocious grin, and he charged out excitedly.

"Where did this little brat come from? Looking for death?" The four criminals grinned savagely, grabbing the large swords at their waists and walking towards Hank.

Hank moved in a flash, passing through the four men. Five claw marks appeared on each of their throats, tearing open their windpipes. Blood spurted out.

Hank grabbed one man by the neck and flung him, smashing him through the wall of a building. He looked displeased.

"These guys are too weak."

The burly man and his four companions were dumbstruck, staring at Hank, who was standing in a pool of blood, their bodies trembling.

The commotion in the alley attracted the attention of other criminals. One by one, criminals emerged from the buildings, surrounding them.

Hank's displeasure turned back into a ferocious grin. Without a word, he launched himself at them. Screams and the sounds of gunfire echoed through the alley.

One criminal after another fell beneath Hank's claws. This group of criminals was utterly helpless against him.

Suddenly, Hank's pupils contracted, and his entire body tensed. A strong figure charged out from the street, arriving in front of Hank in an instant. His large fist, encased in an iron gauntlet, smashed towards Hank.

Hank's expression changed, and he crossed his arms to block. The fist struck Hank, sending him flying backward.

Hank rolled several times in the air before landing on the ground, grimacing in pain and letting out a low, pained growl. His arms hung limply.

That punch had nearly broken his arms.

"He's here, he's here..." The burly man looked at the giant of a man in front of him with terror.

"Heavy Punch—Homan!"
