Chapter : Introduction
"Long before the sun-drenched spires of Solara graced the fertile plains, and before the obsidian fortresses of Aeridor clawed at the storm-wracked peaks, there was the Age of Unity. One kingdom, known as Aethelgard, ruled the land, its kings wise and its people prosperous. But even in the brightest of days, shadows lurk.
The seeds of division were sown by the twin princes, Solaris and Aeridor, sons of the last High King. Solaris, favored for his gentle spirit and love of peace, was destined to inherit the throne. Aeridor, consumed by ambition and a thirst for power, grew bitter and resentful.
Upon the High King's death, Aeridor challenged his brother's claim, igniting a war that fractured Aethelgard. Solaris, though reluctant to shed blood, was forced to defend his right, and more importantly, his vision of a harmonious kingdom. The war raged for years, leaving scars upon the land and hearts of its people.
In the end, Solaris prevailed, but at a terrible cost. Aeridor, rather than surrender, retreated to the desolate mountains, taking with him those who shared his hunger for dominion. There, amidst the crags and storms, he forged a new kingdom, Aeridor, a land of iron and shadows, fueled by resentment and a burning desire for revenge.
Solaris, weary of war, established Solara in the fertile valleys, a kingdom dedicated to peace, art, and the pursuit of knowledge. He sought to heal the wounds of the past, but the shadow of Aeridor remained, a constant reminder of the brother he had lost, and the war that had shattered their shared heritage.
Generations passed, and the bitterness between the kingdoms festered. Solara, bathed in sunlight, became a beacon of hope and prosperity, while Aeridor, shrouded in darkness, grew strong and ruthless. The Treaty of Broken Bonds, signed after a particularly brutal border skirmish, established a fragile peace, but the embers of ancient hatred still smoldered beneath the surface.
Now, with King Lucian of Aeridor ascending to the throne, whispers of change echo through both kingdoms. Some speak of a new era of cooperation, while others fear the rekindling of old flames. Princess Elara of Solara, raised on tales of her ancestor's wisdom, yearns for peace, but the shadows of the past loom large, threatening to engulf her kingdom and her heart."
