The Ghost Island

"So, you want to visit logue town before entering the grandline ?" I asked Luffy.

"Yeah ! Yeah ! I want to see the place where the previous pirate king Gol D Roger was executed !" Luffy nodded with enthusiasm.

"Alright alright ! You don't need to jump. We have to go there anyway in order to get some much necessary supply before we venture into the grand line. But do you mind me paying a visit to a place before I leave the east blue ?" I asked Luffy.

"No, I don't mind. But what about our food ?" Luffy asked doubtfully.

"The place we are going to, has one of the biggest tangerine forests in the east blue. And don't worry, the tangerine there is juicy and tasty." I told Luffy.

"Alright ! Let's go !" Luffy cheered.

I wanted to pay Bellemeres' grave a final visit before leaving for the grandline. After the buster call, I left the island and came back three years later, when I gathered enough money. During those three years, the previous scars of the land given by the buster call had been healed to a certain degree. After returning I worked alone on that land and using the money I have collected I planted as many tangerine trees as possible all across the island.

Due to having blessed the land for agriculture, with minimum initial care, the entire Island turned into a Tangerine forest in the next couple of years.

I would go to the island whenever I got the chance to visit Bellemeres' grave. But in the last couple of years many things have changed. Suddenly one night when I reached the island in order to visit Bellemeres' grave, I started hearing cries of multiple people in the distance. At first I thought that there were some people on the island. But even after a lot of searching I never found out who was crying. The next day I left the island and ignored the matter thinking that it was just my imagination. But in my next couple of visits it was clear that whatever was happening in the forest was definitely paranormal activities. Not long after that, the news about the sinking of a ship of the world government which was passing through that area spread like wildfire. But the sinking of the ship was not the main topic of discussion. But the experience of the survivors in the Island where once the world government had created a river of blood, was the main topic. Even the marines agreed that they felt like someone was trying to choke them to death as soon as they entered the forest. They also mentioned the sound of multiple people crying in the forest.

From that day onwards, the island whose name was Conomi Island, became the Ghost Island of the east Blue. Of course, I had visited the place multiple times after that and I had also heard the cries of multiple people whenever I visited the place. But I never felt like someone was trying to choke me.

I didn't know if paranormal activities and ghosts were real in the world of the one piece. But where magical fruits, giants, mermaids and power like haki existed, it wasn't impossible for ghosts to exist.

And now I wanted to pay the dead on that Island final respect before leaving the east blue.

"Hey Nami, this Island… It is the island of ghosts ! Isn't

it ?" Usopp asked fearfully after rummaging through a lot of books he had brought.

"Well, it is called Conomi Island. But I guess a few people call it Ghost Island too. But why are you asking me this question ?" I asked Usopp ignoring the sheer amount of sweat flowing from his body.

"Why are you asking me ? Come on ! That's the last Island we should ever visit in the entire world ! No ! We should never visit that Island even if we have to go against the entire world government !" Usopp said to me without realizing that what he said was going to be true very soon.

"Relax, will you ? I have visited the place multiple times. I once lived there, you know. But some accidents happened and I ended up on another Island with my memory gone. And by the time I regained my memory, the world government had destroyed my entire Island with a buster call. Everyone and everything I knew was gone in a blink of an eye.

The haunted tangerine forest was actually a normal forest created by me after several years of the buster call in order to pay tribute to the villagers I grew up with. Back then I didn't notice any paranormal activities. But ever since those world government agents have gone to that Island, the paranormal activities have started. But you don't have to worry about being killed by ghosts as long as you don't work for the world government or a marine." I assured Usopp. Everyone was present in the cabin when I told something about my past. And their reaction varied. Sanji looked very angry and upset for my sake. Zoro was completely indifferent and Luffy had stars in his eyes.

"Nami ! That's so cool ! Can I see a real ghost ! If I meet one then I am definitely gonna invite them to my crew !" Luffy was practical jumping up and down after hearing about ghosts.

"Hey hey ! Luffy ! No matter what, you can't invite a ghost to our ship ! We will be haunted by it !" Usopp tried to convince Luffy to drop his idea about recruiting a ghost as their new crew mate.

I sighed looking at them. Honestly, after my first experience of hearing the cries of the ghosts, I have never entered the forest during the night. But this time, I was a little confident.

After a day of sailing from Baratie, we finally reached Conomi Island in the evening of the next day.
