Exchanging the Gold for money in a milk shop

"So, you want me to lend you some money ?" Nami asked Zoro.

"Yeah. I use 3 sword style. And two of them broke during my fight with Mihawk." Zoro replied with a flat expression.

"I hate to break it to you but we don't have cash on us now. Food is very necessary especially with Luffy's appetite so I have already given 100,000 berries to Sanji to buy our food supplies. And I have already given all of you 10000 berries each for your personal expenses. With that all of our cash is gone. I will have to exchange the gold here to get some cash first. So either you can accompany me to the trader's office to get the money or you can wait here." Nami told Zoro. She was a money grubber. But she was not that ruthless towards her crewmates. That's why she didn't hesitate while giving a large sum to Sanji in order to buy their food.

"I would rather go with you than wait here. But seriously, why are you giving so much money to that perverted

cook ?" Zoro grumbled.

Hearing Zoro, a tick mark appeared on Nami's forehead. Last time she had spent 200000 berries on buying food and it barely lasted till they reached Logue town. On top of that Nani didn't like Zoro questioning her authority so many times.

"Are you really complaining ? Why don't you try to manage our fund yourself Mr swordsman !" Nami yanked Zoro's collar and asked him angrily.

"Jeez ! I get it, I get it ! I won't complain ! Now let's go." Zoro wanted some money in the future. Not to mention for some reason Nami's strikes hurt like hell. So he was not eager to try them at the moment.

Luffy had left on his own to the town to see the execution platform on which the previous pirate king Gol D Roger was executed. Sanji had left with the money to buy the supplies for their next voyage. Finally the three remaining members were about to leave with all the gold. They have left their ship for the pet Falcon of Nami to watch over. Of course he would get some delicious treats letter for his job, but for now the blue bird was lazing on the deck of the ship.

Nami, as an ex-smuggler knew where to exchange the gold for the cash.

So without any detour, they reached a normal looking shop with a giant hoarding of "milk" at the entrance.

Usopp was new to this kind of place. So he was a little nervous but when his other two crewmates entered the establishment he followed them as well. The entire shop was covered with shelves containing large bottles of milk and dairy products. There were quite a few customers buying different things as well.

Nami, on the other hand, ignored all the counters and went further into the shop. On a dark corner there was a small counter with yogurt written on the top.

"I am here to exchange milk." Nami said to the attendant directly. The dark skinned woman who had surprisingly big bazongas comparable to Nami, nodded and opened the counter for them to enter. She then opened a secret door on the wall behind her and let the three of them enter.

Nami walked forward confidently.

"Nami, what is this place ? I have a very bad feeling about this." Usopp asked Nami fearfully.

"You should. This please might be the most dangerous place in this entire Island apart from the Marine base. Its name is "milk shop" as you read it earlier. This is the place where all types of smuggling happens, whether it is an antique item, gold, expensive alcohols or rare drugs. You can buy and sell anything and everything. There is also many whore houses connected to this establishment. So you can guess that not many civil people enter this route. But don't worry. I have been doing business with these guys for a long time. As long as you are with me you have nothing to worry about." Nami assured Usopp as the three of them continued to go even deeper into the secret passage. It was a narrow route with a single way so there was no chance for Zoro to go any other way. Not to mention, Usopp was keeping a close eye on the green haired swordsman.

They passed through the narrow corridor leaving many closed doors behind. From some of those doors, moans could be heard, even if it was the middle of the day. Nami ignore everything and went on until she finally reached a particular door. Unlike the other doors they have left behind it was black in color.

She didn't even knock and directly opened the door.

Usopp was surprised when he entered the room after Zoro. It was fairly luxurious compared to the dark corridor they just came through.

"Oh, the infamous cat Burglar….. It has been a while." A middle aged man greeted Nami. He was sitting behind a normal looking desk while doing some paperwork. But with how silent the office was some suspicious slurping and choking sound could be heard clearly coming from the desk.

Nami didn't bother to engage in some formal greeting and put the sack filled with gold on his table with a light thud.

"Markus, I am in a hurry. So I would appreciate it if you finish this transaction first before engaging in other activities." Nami said in a no nonsense tone.

"Gold ?... Of course ! I would not dare to make you wait for something so insignificant !" The man named Markus said with a sly smile, after checking the contents of the bags. Immediately the suspicious sound stopped with a final pop and a woman with disheveled clothes came out of the desk. She immediately collected all the sacks of gold and went further into the room. After waiting for around 10 minutes, the woman returned with a piece of paper with some data written on it.

Of course Nami had already checked all of the gold before handing them over for the exchange. The man red the contents, nodding to himself and handed over the paper to Nami. After checking the contents, Nami nodded silently as the man began calculating the price of the gold.

…

"This is heavy !" Usopp grunted, lifting one of the bags filled with cash. He still couldn't believe his eyes when he saw Nami lifting the other two bags with relative ease.

Compared to what he thought, the transaction of money had gone smoothly. They have gotten around 320 million berries after negotiation.

"Let's go to a tavern first. After that we can divide the money and go our own way." Nami said after exiting the establishment.
