Chapter 195: Beautiful Guard~
The Obsidian Tech Tower gradually faded into the distance as Pyris made his way back home, his convoy of well-armed guards surrounding him like a moving fortress. Yet, beside him sat the only true guardian he needed—Mira, a being so powerful she could obliterate the entire mortal realm without even needing her physical body.
"I understand your choice of companion for this mission, Young Lord," Mira began, her voice soft but tinged with concern. Her words faltered, though she knew Pyris would never change his mind. Still, she felt compelled to speak her thoughts aloud.
"But why Alera, of all people? I understand that she's strong—perhaps stronger than all your women, except Ammit. And with the Shadow Nexus you two share, you might survive the Abyssal Labyrinth. But it's not enough to guarantee your safety," she finished, her worry palpable.
Pyris turned slightly, a teasing smile tugging at his lips. "Oh? Is my beautiful guardian truly so worried that she would question both my decision and my woman?"
His voice was playful, but there was no denying the gravity of his presence.
His aura, dense and oppressive in its intensity, rippled through the space between them.
Mira's shadowy form trembled slightly—not from fear, but from the sheer weight of Pyris' power. It was something she had never truly acclimated to, not even now that he had reached Rank 16.
Pyris watched her battle with herself, amused by the conflict in her eyes. He was only teasing her, but he could see how much his words—and his presence—affected her.
'I'm I close to...'
[Don't dream now!] Lia poured cold water on him although she too couldn't understand how he gets the phantom venerable to act like that, like a maiden.
"Young Lord…" Mira's voice faltered again, her thoughts caught in a loop. She wanted to say more, but the words wouldn't come. With a sigh, her shoulders sagged in a quiet surrender.
"Mira," Pyris called softly, his tone warm but filled with command. He reached out and lifted her chin gently, forcing her to meet his gaze.
His eyes, sharp and unyielding, seemed to cut through her like a blade, reading her as if she were an open book. Yet, hidden beneath the sharpness of his gaze was a flicker of something more—affection, perhaps—that sent her mind reeling.
'Is it because this isn't my true body?' Mira mused, struggling to make sense of her emotions. Only a fraction of her soul resided here. Could that be why she felt herself growing attached to this man—this boy—after just not longer than two months by his side?
'No,' she tried to convince herself. 'I am the Void Sovereign. I can't fall in love, especially not with him. That's impossible.' And yet, she couldn't deny the warmth in his touch or the way her thoughts spiraled every time she stood too close to him.
Pyris smiled knowingly, as though he could sense her internal struggle. His fingers brushed her chin softly, the simple act sending a ripple of sensation through her.
"Yes, Young Lord," Mira finally responded, though her voice wavered slightly. Her body, despite its ethereal nature, trembled under the weight of his presence.
'Damn it,' she cursed inwardly. 'Why do these images keep returning?' Memories of Pyris and Ammit together flooded her mind, the intensity of their nights together echoing through her thoughts. Then there were the other nights—the nights he spent with Alexa, Aurelia, at the office with Suzie and the others.
The nights she couldn't unsee, no matter how hard she tried.
'Why did I assign myself the task of always staying in his shadows?' she wondered. 'Why don't I just… leave when he's with his women?' But deep down, she knew the answer. Part of her didn't want to leave. Part of her liked what she saw.
'That big thing...'
"I understand your concerns for my safety, Mira," Pyris said, his voice cutting through the haze of her thoughts. "But I don't need a cocoon of protection to grow. There are certain things I must handle myself." His words rang true, and despite the turmoil in her heart, Mira nodded. Pyris smiled at her quiet acknowledgment.
"Tell me, Mira," he continued, his voice now thoughtful, his sharp eyes locked on hers. "You're the leader of the most feared beings I know. Even the gods tremble at the mention of your name. And yet, after my mother helped hide your Phantoms from the gods' watchful eyes, you didn't just stay in the shadows. You chose to protect my house, personally. First my mother, and now me."
His gaze became even more intense, probing her as he pressed on. "You could have simply commanded your Phantoms to assist from a distance. After all, even the weakest among you could eliminate the strongest person in Argos in a matter of moments. So why, Mira? Why are you here? Why, of all beings, did you choose to protect me directly?"
Mira swallowed hard, her thoughts a jumbled mess. Pyris was too close now—too close for her to keep her composure. His hands slid around her waist, pulling her against him, and her own hands found themselves resting on his chest. She shivered, not from cold, but from the raw intensity of his presence.
Luckily a mirror seperated them from the driver...
Pyris' smile deepened, knowing he had her ensnared. Even the Void Sovereign couldn't resist him.
"Tell me, Mira," he whispered, his breath warm against her ear. "What honor is it that you would choose to protect my family personally? Even your second-in-command, Song, is part of this 'small quest' of yours. What are you really after?"
Mira's breath hitched as his words, though soft, carried a weight she couldn't ignore. Pyris didn't need powers to control people; his very essence radiated an irresistible allure.

As both a Lust Dragon and a Golden Dragon, lastly the Champions Of Lust, his very existence was infused with a primal, magnetic force that touched the deepest corners of the soul. His power wasn't just physical—it was elemental, a gravitational pull that drew everyone around him toward him.
Even gods would have difficulty resisting his pull, they should be ready.
Mira, a being who had defied the gods themselves, was no exception. No matter how hard she tried to fight it, she was already ensnared by Pyris' charm. His mere presence made her feel vulnerable in a way she had never experienced before.
"It's not a small quest, Pyris," Mira whispered, her voice filled with a mixture of fear and urgency. "You… you're our only hope. You're the only one who can stand against them."
