Chrono-God

Chapter 4: Awakening 1

Mike sits down at his desk across from Jerry. It's just a plain black metal desk with three drawers on the left and two file size drawers on the right. It's very cluttered with research papers, print outs from the REG's, and unfinished computations. Mike puts his hand down in something sticky and realizes it's been awhile since he let the maintenance come in and do their regular rounds. He stopped their nightly visits months ago when he came in one day to find his latest findings were missing, and after excruciating investigating it turned out that it was just put away where it belonged. Who puts things where they actually belong? He knows exactly where every piece of important paperwork is. There is no way he's letting anyone mess up his filing system again! Mike goes into his bottom right drawer and grabs a folder out that has a lot of pages shoved unevenly inside. Some of the papers in there are even napkins he's jotted ideas down on. Jerry looks at the folder and starts to feel a little uneasy. He tries not to let it show but sometimes he gets overwhelmed with all that Mike actually knows. Mike tends to sell himself short a lot of the time, but the man can do quantum mathematical calculations in his head!

"OK so now that we have that out of the way, this folder is the accumulation of all the research I have done over the last ten years. And it is also the answer to your problem." Mike says with a smug smile on his face.

"Once again for the umpteenth time I don't HAVE a problem", Jerry growls thru clenched teeth. Feeling very annoyed that Mike could find his continued suffering to be some kind of amusement. As if reading his mind Mike replies," I meant no disrespect with my little smile. I'm just too excited by what I have discovered. You see everything that has happened to you from your nightmares to the strange events of today have all confirmed one thing for me. You are undergoing an awakening that will literally change not only you but everyone alive on the planet. You my friend will usher in a new age of human existence. And it all stems back to the day you were born. You were born under a celestial event that has never before nor ever will again be witnessed within our solar system. Every planetary body that orbits our Sun was in perfect alignment at the exact second of your birth. For reasons that I'm still researching so that I can fully comprehend why, you have been gifted with an awareness of our cosmos that allows you to traverse the universe with your mind. This includes its different dimensions and time lines, and if my theories are correct you should be able to travel thru the different planes of existence as well."

Jerry looked at his friend with his mouth hanging open feeling like someone just dumped cold water over his head. That's it he thought. Mike has finally lost his ever loving mind! What do you say to a crazy person. He felt bad for his friend and Diane and the kids. Mentally bracing himself he started planning ahead. I'll help with the kids as much as I can. Ill drive everyone back and forth from the hospital so they can visit him. Maybe we can arrange for some hospice care, and he can just stay home and receive some care. While these thought were going thru Jerry's head he completely missed what Mike was saying. So when he saw his friend looking at him with an expectant expression, he knew he missed something.

By the blank stare on Jerry's face Mike couldn't help but laugh. It started out as a low chuckle, but quickly grew to a gut wrenching open mouth bawl. Wiping the tears from his eyes Mike says, "You seriously think I'm crazy right now! I could actually see the plans forming in your head to have me committed to a psych ward. If I didn't spend the last ten years doing all this research I would probably feel the same way you do. My assistants don't even understand exactly what they have been working on. I have purposely kept them concentrating on only one aspect of the entire project so that they will never understand its true brilliance. With your help I will prove the existence of time travel. And not just time travel but inter dimensional teleportation. If I can record the energy reading of you while you time travel I believe I can create a device to simulate exactly what it is you do."

Jerry didn't know what to say to that. He didn't feel like he could do any of this. Was what happened with Ms. Sanchez really that important? Yes it was strange but to base this outlandish theory on one random event was too much of a stretch for anybody's imagination. But he knew Mike had spent the last decade working on this. Could he really just dismiss his best-friend's life work as crazy ramblings? No he couldn't. The least he could was hear him out, and when it didn't work he could be there to console him. Maybe even convince him to start spending more time with his wife and kids.

Diane had asked him plenty of times to try and get him to stop working so much, but Mike has been so focused that wasn't even listening when Jerry talked to him. So Jerry gave up a long time ago even trying. Maybe Jerry failing to do whatever it is Mike thought he should be able to would break his focus enough to finally get thru to him. "OK Mike what do I have to do to make this work?"

"You need to... hold on before I explain this, do you know how to align your chakras?"

"Yeah kinda, don't I just need to meditate or something like that?"

"You are close but not completely accurate. In Hindu metaphysical and tantric or yogic traditions and other belief systems chakras are points or knots, in the subtle body. They are located at the physical counterparts of the major plexuses of arteries, veins and nerves. Chakras are part of the subtle body, not the physical body, and as such are the meeting points of the subtle (non-physical) energy channels, called nadiis. Nadiis are channels in the subtle body through which the life force (prana), or vital energy moves."

"So your saying that chakra points are where universal energy interacts with our physical bodies and these points are where we have major clusters of arteries, veins, and nerves."

"Yes now here's what you have to do. Close your eyes and starting at the base of your spine you are going to envision the colors of the rainbow traveling up your spine. Red at the base of your spine. Orange in your navel area. Yellow at your stomach area. Green at your heart area but centered on your chest. Blue at your collar bones. Indigo where your third eye is, center of your forehead. And finally a violet so bright that it looks white at the top of your head. I know you have never done this before so take your time and go slow. Picture each color at these locations for at least two seconds before moving on to the next one. Let me know when you have done it."

"I'll try but don't expect any miracles." Jerry says, then he closes his eyes and starts aligning his chakras. He pictures the red light at the base of his spine. Then orange at his navel. Green at his heart. Blue at his collar bone. Indigo at his third eye. Finally a bright white light at the top of his head. And then nothing..... He sat there waiting for some momentous event to happen and.... nothing. He opened his eyes to see Mike with a very excited grin on his face. He almost couldn't bring himself to break his heart, but then he remembered Diane and he knew what he had to do.

"I don't know what you were expecting to happen, but nothing did. I know you worked really hard and long on this but maybe..."

"Oh it wasn't going to work the very first try," Mike interrupted. "that was just step one. Now repeat the process but when you imagine each color try to feel that color at the same time."

"How the heck am I supposed to feel a color?" Jerry asked looking very confused.

"Try to think of a feeling each color represents to you. When you see the color in your mind allow that color to expand around your entire body and feel it surrounding you comforting and protecting you with whichever emotion it invokes in you. But the emotions have to be positive. You can't use hate for example. Each emotion has to be right and true and just."

"Okay I'll try again but don't be too disappointed when nothing happens again." Jerry says while shrugging his shoulders. The look on his face made it clear to Mike that he thought this was a waste of both of their time.

Mike makes a placating gesture, nodding his head. "Just humor me.", he says.

Jerry closes his eyes again, sits with his back straight and starts envisioning the colors again in their respective places. What emotion does red mean to me Jerry asked himself. As he thought about it first came hot, but he laughed thinking hot is not an emotion. Hot made him think of angry, but anger isn't a positive emotion. But righteous anger is so that is the one he chose. While making himself feel righteous anger he expanded the red glow until it surrounded his entire body. Since he had his eyes closed he didn't know that the glow was visible for Mike to see. Mike's excitement was almost too much for him to contain. He knew if he made any noise right now that it would distract Jerry and ruin everything. Nothing could stop the cheesy grin from spreading across his face though. Next was orange, the first thing that came to his mind was fruit. He chuckled to himself, fruit is not an emotion. But then he thought of eating and being full after a good meal. That makes you feel content, so he surrounded himself with orange contentment. Yellow was easy, he thought of a bright sunny and enjoying the good weather. So a yellow glow of joy joined the other two colors. Green was a little harder. The first thought he had was of green grass, which led him to think of planting seed and watching it grow to a lush lawn. The satisfaction of a job well done entered him. He nodded at the thought of green satisfaction. Blue was even harder. Hmmmm..... blue water... swimming.... I like swimming he thought. It made him feel strong to use his muscles to propel thru the water. So blue became strength to him. Purple was actually very easy because it was Her favorite color. Purple love surrounded him. White figured itself out. He felt such a sense of peace when thought of white that it naturally surrounded him on its own. At this point he shined so bright that Mike had to shade his eyes due to the glare. Jerry opened his eyes and was stunned by what he saw.
