Coiling Dragon: Reborn As The Armored Razorback Wyrm

Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Comprehending Sword Intent Through the Bloodviolet Sword

Within the mountain cave, Sadius continuously utilized his spiritual connection with the Bloodviolet Sword, attempting to awaken the sword's sentience.

In the original Coiling Dragon, Linley had once witnessed the boundless killing intent within the Bloodviolet Sword during his training.

Sadius aimed to find his opportunity to break through to the Saint-level by comprehending that very killing intent.

However, the killing intent of the Bloodviolet Fiend was simply too terrifying. As a mere Rank-Nine magical beast, he feared that he would not be able to withstand the spiritual assault of such overwhelming slaughter.

Thus, he only sought to have the Bloodviolet Sword release a mere fraction of its killing intent—just enough to aid in his training.

Lying beneath the Bloodviolet Sword, Sadius directed his spiritual force towards the sword embedded in the formation's core.

Darkness-elemental energy surged into the sword's interior, causing it to emit a low hum.

In that instant, Sadius felt a horrifying sword intent surge into his very soul, rendering him motionless.

The sword intent left behind by the Bloodviolet Fiend was washing over his spirit.

And yet, this was merely a minuscule trace of its original power—yet even so, it left Sadius frozen in place, his very soul trembling under its weight.

After a long while, Sadius finally regained his senses.

His previously vacant eyes now shone with exhilaration.

As long as he could maintain this minuscule outflow of sword intent, he was certain that sooner or later, he would gain enlightenment.

Recollecting that brief sensation, Sadius knew that even a mere trickle of the residual sword intent was an incredible opportunity.

Without hesitation, he lay down and began meditating once more.

For the days that followed, Sadius used the trace of sword intent from the Bloodviolet Sword for his comprehension training.

Since he currently possessed the body of a dragon, he could not train like a typical swordmaster. Instead, he used the razor-sharp claws of his draconic form to mimic sword techniques, performing simple strikes within the cave.

In the blink of an eye, another three months passed.

Sadius had now been in the Yulan continent for half a year.

On this particular day, sensing a breakthrough approaching, he slowly crawled out of his mountain cave.

Outside, the beast-filled mountain range was now blanketed in a thick layer of snow.

Most magical beasts had retreated to their respective territories, seeking warmth.

Suddenly, as Sadius's massive head emerged from the cave entrance, nearby magical beasts instinctively sensed the presence of a Rank-Nine Armored Razorback Wyrm. One after another, their gazes turned towards the cave.

Sweeping his eyes across the valley's beasts, Sadius let out a deep, commanding roar in the draconic tongue.

"You two Rank-Eight raptors over there—get over here."

Two enormous raptors in the distance heard his voice but did not immediately respond.

They both knew this Rank-Nine Armored Razorback Wyrm—Sadius. A cunning and ruthless figure among the dragon race.

No one wanted to be caught in his sights.

"If you don't come, I'll eat you!" Sadius threatened coldly.

The two raptors immediately scrambled to their feet, shaking the snow from their bodies as they rushed over.

"Lord Sadius, spare us!"

Sadius was not as cruel as his body's original owner. The threat of devouring them was nothing more than a scare tactic.

"I'll spare you this time, but hesitate again, and I will feast on your flesh."

The two raptors hastily nodded in agreement.

Seeing this, Sadius wasted no more words.

"I have made some progress in my training and require a battle to test my gains."

"Lord Sadius, please spare us! We are no match for you. A single swipe of your claws would leave us in pieces!"

"Enough talk. When I say fight, you fight. I will hold back—I have no intention of taking your lives."

Truthfully, Sadius wished to find a worthy opponent of equal strength so he could go all out.

Unfortunately, in the Misty Valley, he was the sole Rank-Nine magical beast. The Rank-Nine Violet Tattooed Bear had long fled after its battle with his body's previous owner.

With no better options, he could only use these unfortunate Rank-Eight raptors as sparring partners.

High above the valley, numerous Rank-Eight fire dragons and emerald dragons gathered along the cliffs, eager to witness the fight.

The two Rank-Eight raptors adopted defensive stances. They did not wish to fight—not because they were unwilling, but because the sheer defense of an Armored Razorback Wyrm was too formidable. They could not hope to harm Sadius.

But Sadius paid them no mind, his massive body charging forward. His twin claws, now as sharp as swords, slashed down.

As the two raptors instinctively tried to flee, Sadius's claws, wreathed in an eerie, invisible energy, slashed toward one of them from an impossibly sharp angle.

It was not darkness-elemental energy—it was a sliver of killing intent.

As his claws descended, Sadius deliberately altered his attack at the last moment, striking a massive boulder instead.

The boulder instantly shattered, and deep fissures split the ground beneath it.

The raptor barely escaped death, dashing away without hesitation, too terrified to remain.

Sadius sighed in boredom. If they could not even withstand a single strike, this battle was pointless.

He gazed at the deep gashes left in the earth by his claws.

Throughout the fight, he had not activated his darkness-elemental energy. Instead, he had relied solely on the sword intent he had been comprehending these past few months—and the result was terrifying.

Excitement surged through him.

If he had infused that strike with his darkness-elemental energy, its destructive power would have been unimaginable.

With that thought, Sadius let out a mighty roar, scattering the gathered dragons, before retreating back into his cave to continue his training with the Bloodviolet Sword.

This time, he exerted greater control over the sword, allowing its emitted sword intent to grow even stronger than before.

Suddenly, a vague image flashed through his mind.

Amidst a sea of corpses and rivers of blood, a lone man stood wielding a sword. Only his back was visible.

And yet, just that silhouette alone exuded an overwhelming killing intent.

Sadius was stunned.

The impact of that fleeting vision on his soul was immense.

Taking a deep breath, his dazed expression quickly sharpened into one of cold determination as he resumed his arduous training.

Beyond the Misty Valley, deep in the snow-covered forest.

A towering Rank-Nine Violet Tattooed Bear stood motionless, gazing toward the valley's eastern region.

A ghastly scar ran across its massive head, one of its eyes completely ruined.

After half a year of recuperation, its wounds had finally healed.

"Sadius, I will reach the Saint-level before you... and when I do, I will return to end your life!" the Violet Tattooed Bear roared with fury.

The thick mist veiling the valley obscured its view of what lay within.

With unwillingness lingering in its eyes, the Violet Tattooed Bear turned away and disappeared into the distant forest.
