Chapter 17: CHAPTER 17 THE SPARRING SESSION

Chapter 17: The Sparring Session

After days of rigorous training, learning basic spells like Strength Spell, Speed Spell, and Shield Spell, it was finally time to test their abilities. Ojiisan, their mentor, gathered everyone and announced a sparring session.

"Each of you will fight using only the spells you've learned. This will help you understand how well you've progressed," Ojiisan declared.

A fight list was prepared:

1. Ryo vs. Toma

2. Takeshi vs. Daiki

3. Muscle vs. Kiyoshi

4. Kuroshin vs. Hikaru

5. Emi vs. Luna

6. Tatsuya vs. Akito

7. Santino vs. Hiroshi

8. Aoi vs. Asahi

9. Kaito vs. Fyodor

The Fights Begin

The first match between Ryo and Toma began. Toma dashed forward, using Speed Spell to land a punch, but Ryo retaliated with an enhanced Strength Spell punch that sent Toma flying backward. Toma quickly recovered, using Speed Spell to land multiple blows, but Ryo anticipated the attack. He activated Shield Spell at the last moment and countered, knocking Toma out of the ring.

"Winner: Ryo!" Ojiisan announced.

The next match between Takeshi and Daiki was a surprise to everyone. While most expected Daiki to win, Takeshi turned the tide by landing a clean jab followed by a hook. Activating Speed Spell and Strength Spell, Takeshi delivered a powerful punch, sending Daiki to the ground.

"Winner: Takeshi!"

When it was time for Muscle vs. Kiyoshi, the crowd grew excited. Both were known for their monstrous strength. Kiyoshi started off with Speed Spell, dodging and landing powerful blows, but Muscle blocked them and countered with a devastating Strength Spell uppercut. Kiyoshi was sent flying, losing the match.

"Winner: Muscle!"

Emi vs. Luna was over in an instant. Emi launched forward with Strength Spell, but before she could land a punch, Luna countered effortlessly—without even using a spell. Emi collapsed.

"Winner: Luna!"

Akito's fight against Tatsuya was just as one-sided. With his natural stealth skills, Akito maneuvered around Tatsuya and knocked him out in a single blow.

"Winner: Akito!"

When Santino and Hiroshi fought, Hiroshi appeared confident. However, Santino was on another level, dodging every attack with ease. Before Hiroshi could react, Santino delivered a clean strike.

"Winner: Santino!"

The Aoi vs. Asahi match was more competitive. Asahi went in with a powerful kick, but Aoi grabbed his leg mid-air and slammed him into the ground before finishing with a Strength Spell punch.

"Winner: Aoi!"

Then came Kaito vs. Fyodor, one of Ojiisan's strongest students. Fyodor was a towering beast, and Kaito looked terrified. As the match began, Fyodor dodged Kaito's punch and launched a powerful kick, sending Kaito flying.

"Kaito is done for," someone whispered.

But Kaito wasn't ready to give up. Activating Speed Spell, he rushed forward, landing a shocking punch to Fyodor's jaw. The crowd gasped. Fyodor smirked, impressed, but countered with a brutal Strength Spell punch that knocked Kaito unconscious.

"Winner: Fyodor!"

Finally, it was time for Kuroshin vs. Hikaru. The fight began, and Kuroshin wasted no time, activating Speed Spell to move at blinding speed. Before Hikaru could react, Kuroshin landed a clean hit, stunning him. Hikaru tried to fight back but was easily dodged.

Strength Spell—BOOM!

Hikaru was knocked out instantly. The audience laughed as Hikaru groaned in defeat.

"Winner: Kuroshin!"

A Night of Reflection

That night, a feast was held to celebrate the training. Everyone ate and laughed together, but Kuroshin sat alone on the rooftop, gazing at the moon.

"Why are you up here alone?" a voice called out. It was Luna.

Kuroshin didn't look at her. "Just thinking."

Luna sat beside him. "You destroyed Hikaru today. That was kind of funny."

"He's strong," Kuroshin replied. "But he's still not on my level."

Luna smirked. "You're good, you know that?"

Kuroshin didn't answer. The night stretched on, and the future battles loomed ahead.
