Chapter 4: 04.Fiancee and Speech
-- Gwen approached, surrounded by servants, and Victor very gentlemanly extended his hand and invited her into the conference room.
He and Gwen traveled together, and on the way Gwen kept sizing up Victor, glancing in passing at the dark, impossibly dark, one-eyed raven on Victor's shoulder.
Once the two entered the conference room, Victor gave a look toward the servants at his side, who left knowingly.
After the door to the conference room room closed, Gwen and Victor took their seats.
Gwen asked seriously, "Did you receive the invitation from the Academy?"
Victor tapped the table with his fingers and said, "Received."
After the answer, the air in the room suddenly went cold.
At this moment, Victor was completely unable to guess what attitude the woman in front of him had towards "himself".
Although the two of them had a marriage contract, but in the end, she was the one who killed Victor with her own hands, and Victor knew that Gwen did not have any feelings for him.
But Gwen helped him.
The academy had sent him an invitation to be a professor, and naturally, the Delin family had helped nominate him.
The more Victor thought about it, the more he felt fuzzy.
In short, if he could improve his relationship with Gwen, he might even be able to avoid a death ending.
With a wave of Victor's hand, five bottles of life potions of a fishy red color appeared on the table and were placed in front of Gwen.
"Please also take these."
Gwen merely glanced at them, with no intention of taking them.
Victor sighed as he watched her proudly and continued:
"This is as a thank you for your help, and from what Leah has told me, I don't want to owe you a favor."
He looked at Gwen's with those inky black eyes.
Gwen twisted her head away, bit her lip, and after a moment of agonizing, asked:
"Did you ... confess to the duke's daughter or not?"
Victor was silent, to be honest, yesterday or not did that thing ... He himself does not know.
That was yesterday's "Victor" made, and today's Victor is zero completely different personality.
Gwen saw that he continued to be silent, and really thought that he had done that kind of thing, her cheeks reddened and scolded:
"Victor! You beast! The Duke's daughter is only seventeen years old! How dare you strike out at an underage girl!"
Victor: ...
Now everyone knew that he had attempted to molest an underage girl.
Gwen was an extremely righteous knight at heart and naturally couldn't see this kind of molestation of an underage girl.
If he wasn't able to properly resolve this matter, it would most likely be the trigger that would lead to a complete break between Victor and Gwen in the future, so he had to deal with it properly.
It was a matter of his life.
Victor's heart sank much deeper and opened his mouth to say to her, "I hope you can understand that I don't like that Duke's great lady."
Gwen glared at him and continued, "This is already well known."
Victor looked at her eyes that revealed anger and helplessness, and replied heavily, "I will take care of this matter, and will not let public opinion continue to haunt us."
Victor himself knew very well that if this matter came out like this, not only his Clevena family, including the Delin family with whom he had a marriage contract would naturally be disgraced as a result.
By helping him, the Delin family was likewise helping themselves.
Gwen opened her mouth, but not a single word could be said, looking towards Victor, she always felt that there was some change in him now, but she couldn't tell exactly where it had changed.
Gwen stood up, took the vial, turned around and was ready to leave, the moment she opened the door, she said to Victor, "If you have any difficulties, come to me, I will help you."
With that, he pushed the door open and left.
Victor breathed a sigh of relief.
Vega couldn't help but see him in this state and spit in his ear at the top of his voice, "Who is she?"
"My fiancée."
Victor spread his hands, somewhat helpless.
The one-eyed crow gave him a pitying look, its beak stroking the feathers on its own body, "She's very sensitive, her eyes are scary, like she's trying to see through me, luckily my appearance is just an ordinary crow."
Victor was really speechless.
"There's nothing ordinary about a one-eyed raven."
...
Turning to the next day, Victor arrived at the academy as promised.
The Royal Magic Academy was just like its name, those who could study here were all young masters and young ladies who were not rich or noble.
There was also a special group of people who had superior magical talent, so they were exempted from tuition fees and could study magic here.
Tuition is not waived for nothing, as a price, in the future, these geniuses, naturally, will have to work for the royal family.
Victor looked at the magnificent magic academy and thought of the picture in the game:
He remembered that there was a huge library for mage players to learn magic of all ranks.
Victor planned to go there to study.
He was now in dire need of some very powerful skills to support his magic level, and although Victor's own magic was already sufficient, as a player from a player's background, the amount of magic would naturally provide him with more security.
The contract had been delivered to Victor yesterday, and he was now a senior professor at the Royal Magic Academy.
The first time he came to the academy, he took the initiative to meet the dean, and after a brief greeting, the dean allowed him to go to the best class in the entire academy as a proof of strength.
After leaving the dean's room, he arrived at the Mage Tower based on the memories in his head.
The Mage Tower, also known as the Trial Tower, was a place where players could perform a trial once a day, and if they passed the trial, they would receive a large amount of experience value.
The tower was very imposing, straight up into the sky, the walls were covered with various spell formations, and looking upwards, the dense ripples covered one's eyes, as if it contained some kind of mystery.
Victor approached the magic tower and touched the barrier, the magic in his body shivered slightly.
[Identity verification successful, Professor Victor, welcome back to the Mage Tower.]
A slow black mist appeared in front of his eyes, and in looking back, he was already inside the tower.
"So this is the teleportation spell."
After walking up the stairs, all kinds of ores containing powerful magic were spread throughout the entire tower, and the books were in order, a far cry from what one saw outside the tower.
Looking at the spotless floor, Victor immediately realized that this place had been cleaned.
He heard a gasp from behind him and turned to look.
A woman with short shawl hair appeared in front of Victor's eyes, a pair of fluorescent yellow eyes staring at Victor, probably because Victor was staring at himself, her cheeks flushed red, and her voice slightly trembled as she asked:
"You are Mr. Victor?"
Victor turned back and nodded in acknowledgement.
The young girl followed, but the tension didn't diminish at all:
"I... I'm Hernie, your teaching assistant," and with that, handed Victor a copy of the speech, "All you need to do is memorize it before class this afternoon, and then you can deliver the lesson as it is written on this speech."
Victor took the speech, lightly scanned it, and nodded, "Thank you."
Hernie suddenly got overwhelmed and ran all the way out of Victor's office.
Victor secretly thought, "The academy is doing a pretty good job of dripping."
Right now no one in this school knew how Victor's true learning really was, even though he was a very strong third rank mage.
Even if the school administration gave him the position of a professor, it was only on the basis of his magical talent.
If Victor was just a loser, even with the nominations from two families, this professor wouldn't reach his head.
What he needed to do now was to go and give a speech with the school's script, and as long as he did not leak a single drop of water on this, at least let the people from the outside world see it, and they would definitely not be able to pick out any faults.
A professor of the Royal Academy was definitely not a half-bottle shaker!
Victor picked up the speech again and looked at it for a while.
After all, there was no need for him to spend more time on this when there was a ready-made one he could use.
Noon passed in a flash, and the afternoon was brighter.
People from all walks of life were waiting for the young professor of the Royal Academy of Magic to come out and give a speech, and they were equally curious if this genius professor who had been dormant for many years was just the academy scaring people.
Victor arrived at the classroom, he had long memorized the content of the speech, he only needed to take out a part of it and speak about it to be able to easily get through this hurdle.
Originally, Victor thought so.
But when he scanned the classroom for a week and saw a blonde girl sitting in the first row, he changed his mind.
At 17 years old, she was the most gifted student of the Royal Magic Academy in recent years.
Her family lineage, too, was particularly illustrious.
A person who was the daughter of a duke.
Erica du Chloe.
He didn't expect that the object he had messed with the day before had become her student.
Erica naturally noticed him as well, her eyes were colorful, unable to guess what she was thinking.
''This is that little beauty on yesterday's newspaper headlines, ah, quite pretty, let me take a look ..... Tsk, not too old, actually already a second rank mage, something."
Shoulder Vega secretly said to Victor.
The reason why Vega was able to come inside the classroom with Victor was because the Royal Magic Academy never prohibited the keeping of pets, nor did it restrict the type of pets.
The dean himself kept a watermelon with eyes.
Compared to something like that, a one-eyed crow wasn't a rare species.
Victor cleared his throat and spoke to the students in the classroom:
"I am Victor Klevena, a professor of the Royal Academy of Magic, now serving as your teacher."
"The content of the course covered today is: 'The Impact of Formation Composition on Higher Magic Systems'."
...
Victor gradually became skillful and engaged, and time passed quickly.
After about forty minutes, he looked at his clock, which had reached four in the afternoon, and waved his hand.
"Class dismissed."
Inwardly, he couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude:
Great, nothing went wrong in this class and no questions were asked, it went very well.
Victor was ready to leave when Erica, who was sitting in the first row, suddenly raised her hand with a smile on her face.
"Teacher, I have a question, can you answer it for me?"
Victor's face sank slightly when he heard it.
Sure enough there was no escaping it, it still came.
