Chapter 137: The Force Unveiled, Master Yoda
The desert winds of Tatooine stirred the sands into swirling eddies as Bell and Anakin stood outside their modest quarters, discussing the modifications they'd made to a broken-down pod racer. Bell's white hair shimmered like starlight under the twin suns, and his sharp Six Eyes scanned the horizon, catching a faint ripple in the atmosphere.
"Someone's coming," Bell said, his voice calm but curious. Anakin perked up, shading his eyes with his hand.
"What do you mean? I don't see anyone."
Bell smiled faintly. "You will."
Moments later, the hum of a small, nondescript ship filled the air as it descended toward a flat expanse of sand nearby. The craft settled with a gentle hiss, and its ramp lowered. Emerging from the shadows of the ship was a diminutive figure, cloaked in a simple brown robe, leaning on a gnarled wooden cane.
Anakin blinked. "What is that?"
Bell tilted his head, a small smile playing on his lips. "Not what, Ani. Who."
The small figure approached slowly but deliberately, his large, pointed ears twitching slightly in the breeze. His sharp green eyes, filled with centuries of wisdom, met Bell's icy blue ones.
"Hmm," Yoda hummed, studying the towering figure before him. "Strong, you are. Balance, I sense. Unusual, this is."
Bell gave a polite nod. "You must be Master Yoda. It's an honor to meet someone so... seasoned."
Yoda chuckled softly, tapping his cane against the ground. "Flatter me, you do. But why, I wonder, does balance follow you, hmm?"
Bell merely shrugged. "I'm a traveler. Balance tends to find me."
Yoda turned his gaze to Anakin, who was nervously shifting from foot to foot. "And this one... curious, yes. A storm within him, I feel. But a calm breeze, also."
Bell rested a hand on Anakin's shoulder. "He's got potential, no doubt about that. But storms can be weathered, Master Yoda."
Yoda's eyes narrowed slightly. "Potential, yes. But guided, he must be. Else danger, he may bring."
Anakin piped up, his voice excited. "You're a Jedi, aren't you? Can you teach us? Teach me?"
Yoda's lips curved into a small smile. "Teach, I can. But ready, are you?"
Bell knelt to Yoda's level, his expression respectful. "I think we'd both appreciate learning from someone with your... unique perspective. Let's see what this Force of yours is all about."
Yoda raised an eyebrow. "Unique, my perspective is. But guarded, you are. Trust, earned it must be."
Bell's smile didn't waver. "Fair enough."
Under Yoda's guidance, Bell and Anakin began their training. Yoda started with meditation, teaching them to sense the Force, its currents and flows. Bell's adaptability astounded the old Jedi Master—he connected with the Force almost instantly, seamlessly integrating its duality of light and dark into his already balanced nature.
Anakin struggled at first, his emotions clouding his connection. But with Bell's calm guidance, the boy began to find his center. Bell had an innate ability to balance the Force within himself, and he used this skill to guide Anakin toward equilibrium.
"See, Ani?" Bell said gently during one session. "It's not about suppressing your feelings—it's about understanding them. Balance doesn't mean ignoring the storm; it means finding peace in the eye of it."
Yoda watched the interaction, his wrinkled face thoughtful. "Interesting, your methods are. Balance, not denial. New, this is."
Bell glanced at him, his gaze unreadable. "You can't deny part of yourself without creating cracks in the foundation. Balance is the only way to keep it all together."
After mastering the basics of the Force, Yoda introduced them to lightsaber combat, handing each of them training sabers set to non-lethal mode. The weapons hummed with energy as Bell and Anakin ignited their blades for the first time.
Bell's movements were fluid and precise, his years of experience with swords manifesting naturally in his handling of the lightsaber. Unbeknownst to him, his techniques aligned perfectly with the Seven Forms of lightsaber combat, though he moved through them intuitively rather than with conscious effort.
Yoda observed, his eyes narrowing. "Trained in the saber, you are not. Yet mastery, you show. How?"
Bell smiled faintly, twirling the saber effortlessly. "I've fought with blades before—just not ones that glow."
Anakin, meanwhile, struggled to keep up, his swings wild and unfocused. But Bell was patient, demonstrating techniques and offering encouragement. Under Bell's tutelage, Anakin began to improve, his strikes growing more controlled and his footwork more stable.
"Remember," Bell said, stepping beside Anakin, "it's not just about strength. It's about precision, timing, and balance. Feel the flow—don't force it."
Yoda nodded approvingly. "Wise, your words are. Much to learn from you, I see."
As the training progressed, Bell began to delve deeper into the Force, experimenting with its abilities. He quickly mastered techniques like Force Push, Force Pull, and Force Leap, while also demonstrating a knack for more advanced powers like Force Stasis and Force Sense.
Yoda was both impressed and intrigued. "Strange, your understanding is. Instinctive, yet complete."
Bell gave a modest shrug. "I just... see things differently, I guess."
Unbeknownst to Yoda, Bell had used his Ki-based mind-reading technique early on, analyzing the vast knowledge stored in the Jedi Master's mind. While Bell didn't plan to reveal this, he found value in experiencing the teachings firsthand rather than relying solely on what he'd gleaned.
With Bell's guidance, even Yoda began to experiment with new approaches to the Force, exploring its balance in ways he hadn't considered before.
By the end of their training arc, both Bell and Anakin had grown immensely. Bell's mastery of the Force was unparalleled, his innate balance allowing him to transcend the usual boundaries of light and dark. Anakin, meanwhile, had found a sense of stability and confidence under Bell's guidance, his connection to the Force stronger than ever.
Yoda, for his part, was quietly optimistic. "Unique, your presence is," he told Bell one evening. "Dangerous, you could be. But helpful, you are."
Bell smiled, his expression warm. "I'm just here to help, Master Yoda. Balance is my thing, after all."
As the three of them meditated under the stars, the Force swirled around them, perfectly balanced—a testament to what could be achieved when light and dark worked in harmony.
