Chapter 149: Chapter 149: Cassandra
For Morgana, the former Apollo Familia's residence has become a tasteless existence. While discarding it seems wasteful, holding onto it feels pointless.
Her own Familia's residence has just been built, making it impossible to relocate now. Besides, her residence is in no way inferior to the Apollo Familia's estate.
However, selling it would be a pity. After all, such a large piece of land with a ready-made house is a rare find in Orario.
But now, Janna's timely arrival provides the perfect opportunity—Morgana can directly hand over the estate to her.
As the saying goes, "Adding icing to the cake is not as meaningful as giving charcoal in the snow." This way, the estate can be put to good use.
She wasn't concerned about Janna's ability to pay. Instead, she saw this as an opportunity to offer a favor, strengthening their connection.
"You've been showing me around for quite some time now. So, tell me, why did you brings me here?" Janna asked.
"Well, seeing as you've just arrived in Orario, I thought you might need a Familia residence. What do you think of this one? It's fully built and just needs a little modification," Morgana said, her tone slightly enticing.
"It's truly a great place," Janna replied, her interest clearly piqued.
Janna already understood Morgana's intentions but decided to play along. Morgana wasn't wrong—she did need a Familia residence. Though it could remain vacant for now, it would provide accommodation for her Familia's members when they arrived in Orario.
"Think about it. As a colleague, I can let you owe me for now," Morgana added.
"Let me think about it," Janna responded.
Though she spoke cautiously, she had already made up her mind to secure the residence.
With her decision made, Janna began examining the estate more seriously, even considering potential renovations in her mind.
After over half an hour of exploration, their visit was interrupted by Vayne, who came to inform them that the former Apollo Familia adventurers had finished assembling.
Except for a few who voluntarily left the Familia, the rest had gathered in the spacious open area in front of the hall's main entrance.
Morgana stood confidently on the hall's steps, flanked by Sylas and Fiora on her left and right, using the spot as a makeshift podium.
"I believe you all know who I am," Morgana began. "The reason I've called you here today is to select a few of you to join the Morgana Familia."
The adventurers below immediately began murmuring. Though most spoke in hushed tones, the combined chatter created a noisy atmosphere.
Those who remained were keen on joining the Morgana Familia. The unwilling, such as Hyakinthos, had already left.
"Of course, I'm a generous goddess. Those not selected will still receive a share of severance pay," Morgana added. At her signal, Sylas dropped a large sack of Valis coins in front of everyone.
This money, which Morgana had just retrieved from the Guild, was meant as compensation for those who wouldn't be chosen. Most of the adventurers present were destined to be eliminated, so ample severance pay had been prepared.
"Daphne, Cassandra, Della..." Morgana began announcing names.
The inclusion of the two women from the Apollo Familia, Daphne and Cassandra, was no surprise. Apart from Hyakinthos, they were the most skilled members of the former Familia.
Including the two women, Morgana selected only five or six adventurers—a much smaller number than anyone had anticipated.
However, under the intimidating presence of Sylas and Fiora, no one dared to voice their dissatisfaction.
If someone had the courage to speak up, Morgana might have actually respected them.
Turning to Janna, Morgana asked, "Do you have anyone in mind? It's a rare opportunity to have so many adventurers gathered at once."
Janna shook her head slightly, signaling her disinterest.
"Letting you choose the best and leaving me with scraps—how thoughtful," she thought sarcastically.
Unlike believers, Familia members needed to be trustworthy, and Janna wasn't about to accept anything less than reliable.
"I've fallen in love with those two girls. Can you give them to me?" Janna joked rarely, her tone lighthearted.
"That's fine," Morgana replied, though she seemed somewhat concerned that Janna might truly be interested in her two prized gems.
To ease her worries, Morgana guided Cassandra into the bedroom.

"Oh—this skill set is practically cheating," Morgana exclaimed with delight as she reviewed the skills, particularly the prophecy element that even the Guild couldn't decipher.
"Havinf these abilities into my Familia is essential—like ensuring a precious dish is savored completely," she mused inwardly.
"You'll return to our base with Sylas and the others shortly," Morgana instructed the chosen adventurers, though her words were primarily directed at Cassandra.
Then, turning back to Janna, she asked, "You've seen how busy I am. Have you decided about this Familia residence yet?"
"I do need the station," Janna replied, "but I'll owe you the Valis for now."
"Small matter—that's exactly what we agreed on," Morgana said with a brightened smile. With a flick of her hand, a parchment for the household deed materialized in her palm. It was clear she had prepared everything in advance.
"Then this residence is yours from now on. I hope the Janna Familia takes shape soon," Morgana declared.
"Thank you for your kind words," Janna replied warmly.
Morgana didn't linger long. She understood Janna would need time to familiarize herself with the new Familia residence.
After briefly wandering around her new domain as if taking in the moment, Janna realized night had already fallen. Securing the Familia gates, she set off for her return journey.
The Apollo Familia was now completely deserted. Morgana had driven out the adventurers she eliminated, leaving behind only furniture and other essentials.
On her way back, Janna took a slight detour due to her unfamiliarity with Orario's streets. Despite having retraced her path, Morgana had taken her through several routes earlier, which made things confusing.
As Janna walked, she noticed a group heading toward her—a slightly disheveled but cheerful expedition team from the Loki Familia. Their smiles hinted at a successful venture.
What caught Janna's attention, however, wasn't their apparent success but rather a delicate girl in the group who looked like a living doll.
