Chapter 3: The Hogwarts train
Calum laid on his bed while he recounted the day, he had a good time, a wonderful time and he had heard such a beautiful speech from Eyeless, it made him want to puke from how sweet it was, but also cry. He had come up to a few conclusions already first off, he shouldn't mess like this in Hogwarts, at least not yet, there were people so much stronger than him that it would be quite hard to pull it off without no one noticing it was him. But it didn't mean he couldn't go the old way, manipulation, charmings suggestions, magicless torture, and the all too many ways he knew how to breed the darkness inside a cor and a soul.
Calum looked at the ceiling where cracks were showing with a thoughtful look, he had to gather more allies and minions, but magical ones, and ones who weren't as complacent as this ones, it ruined a lot of the fun.
Should he start reading ahead? Calum whipped his head to the untouched trunk which had his school trunk. He could get a head start, and be better than everybody else… yeah he didn't really care about that, school was stupid he would not read ahead in fact, but what could he do then?
Today, his birthday, was August fifteen which means there is a little over two weeks before classes start.
The question that made his brain hurt for thinking too much, which honestly thinking sucked, followed him to the next day.
He was watching the telly that 'All on red' stole from him, he was a funny fellow and the only one to suffer from a bit of modification.
He liked All on red, he was sixty… something he couldn't care or remember, who had fallen into ludopathy, quickly losing his family, his friends, his house and his money, all to the games. One would think that someone who always bet on the red like he did would at least win once. Well he did win a couple of times, two times indeed, the two times that Calum failed to manipulate the odds against him. Sad but necessary to create hope to destroy, to finally get him to become a minion when his life was broken.
The modification you might have asked, his eyes looked exactly like playing chips, which didn't do much but amuse Calum and unfortunately that was the most he could do that was permanent and not a curse.
That's it he what to do, cave into his desire to know more ways to fuck shit up.
In the days that followed Calum read his charm book and memorized all of it, trying to put principles into his magic, which for now seem to elude him. Another disastrous news, he couldn't really cast the spells as he had thought he could after all he needed a wand to cast them, he had previously thought that there would have been more instructions to it, but as far this spells went, they seemed to be easy enough that with wand movement and some fancy words he could simply ignore the need for magical theory and the spells would go on his own.
Absurd and easy, the kind of thing he liked, but he couldn't use his wand until he was in school so mostly he has been practicing with an unused spell on his arsenal.
Calum grabbed his truck, he was dressed nicely today, he had a tshirt with not noticeable stains and also a jean that was not ripped in uncomfortable places.
"Well gang" Cañum was in tears staring at the ten emotionless servants "Today is going to be a hard for me, leaving you all behind no All on red don't cry, it's going to be hard for me to leave you all alone, you all are my gang, my best friends and.." Calum paused and moved his eyes towards the individual who was on the far right "Josh" he said with a little apprehension and continued his speech "I know you will all miss me telling you what to do cause you can't do tasks on your own but I think this will be healthy for us, oh guys don't cry, you are going to make me sob cry too." Calum cried with the gang, well most like he cried while they stared unblinkingly at him, and individually hugged each of them, whispering sweet nothing to each one, and well, he also whispered what things they should do, like what to steal, what to buy, what to eat, that kind of thing until only Josh was left and he just did what was sincere and skipped him completely telling him to figure it out on his own.
Now he had to get to the station, to the 'magic mobile'.
Calum got off the taxi and got his trunk out of the trunk of the car, and weaved the dude off.
Really who would have thought his own magic mobile would have turned against him, so rude.
Calum walked with his trunk onto the station and blanked out, what… what damn platform was it again. Calum picked his own brain, what could it be, a couple of magic owning people walked past him and of course he eavesdropped on the conversation between the witches. Thankfully the witches talked about Hogwarts so they were heading to the platform. He followed the witches into a wall? And the witches just walk through it. Damn thank you random people he would not forget this act of unwilling kindness.
Calum skipped onto the Hogwarts Express, it was nice. Quite busy too but damn was his body killing him from using so much strength to carry the trunk.
Calum walked into the Express and looked through trying to find an empty compartment, when he stumbled into someone, a red headed he was, fifteen or sixteen not quite sure, had some freckles and he smelled of books and self proclaimed superiority.
The moment they bumped as the red headed was too focused on the book he was reading, Calum simply released his aura
Percy Weasley was just making his way to the prefect compartment to talk with his girlfriend and get ready for the new responsibilities, and while he was walking he was engrossed in a book about advanced arithmancy, his eyes scanned the book eagerly from meanings of numbers to equations of magical integrity, out of a sudden he bumped into someone.
Percy's eyes left the book for a second ready to apologize but his words got stuck in his mouth. Whoever he bumped to was ethereal so much so that he felt wrong about looking at him, but seeing his young age he also felt wrong about being attracted to him, this was weird too weird he never liked people younger than him. Percy was blushing like a schoolgirl,he could feel even his ears turning slightly pink.
The kid grabbed onto him not to fall and Percy could feel him grabbing onto his bicep, and even though it was not that muscular he did take care of himself so, the kid had something to grab onto. Percy grabbed the kid and let him steady himself. "Sorry for bumping into you" Percy said softly trying to gain the kid's interest.
"It's fine" The kid did not let his bicep go for a second before blushing and looking away. "Cute, wait no he is so youn-' "Could you help me, you just look so strong and I'm so tired of carrying this trunk."
Percy almost puffed up his chest involuntarily almost like he was one of his brothers being flirted on, why was he so complacent to this kid 'Cause he is beautiful' he thought to himself only to slap that thought away. Percy looked into the kids eyes, losing himself in them before he realized the kid had asked something for him. "Sure" he said awkwardly, wasn't supposed to be level headed what was going on.
Percy grabbed on the kid trunk and went into an empty compartment setting the trunk at the top and then smiling at the kid. God he wanted to stay, but it would be weird, he was acting weird, what the hell was happening to him.
"Could.." The kid got a hopeful look on and put some doggy eyes, and Percy was already willing to answer yes to the question "Could you tell me a bit about Hogwarts?"
What was he doing, Penelope was waiting for him, he just had to say no kindly and leave, yes that is what he is gonna do.
"I guess I could spare some time" Calum saw through the facade easily, he really wanted to stay, was his aura this strong when he was nine, because the red hea- fuck he doesn't know his name. "I'm Percy Weasley, nice to meet you" Percy led his hand out for Calum to shake and he could just only thank that he wasn't the one to ask the question, but this was a very good opportunity.
Calum grabbed Percy's hand and then Calum put effort into his aura, just trying to get him to be bolder and on cue Percy head went down as he kiss the knuckles of Calum's hand, so it worked like expected, the more aura he sent at someone the bolder they would get. "Calum, Calum Walker" He said with a giggle he let out involuntarily. Percy in response only smiled wider and sat down, "So what would you like to know?"
"Tell me what you know about charms" Damn this shit was just too easy.
After an hour of riding with Percy and him getting bolder and bolder with flirting, in instances even blushing, he left to find his girlfriend, like that would last, and when Percy left, he kissed his cheek. In that second he brought all the aura back to himself, and the bold Percy went back to being just a little daring so he blushed furiously and went on his way far too quickly.
It was so sweet, to toy around without really causing damage, well he already started to corrupt Percy's mind a little, that's just the effect he had.
Calum stood up from his compartment and went to look for more people to hang with, maybe one or two with whom he would have a laugh.
On his way to find people he sensed a grey core, rare, but oh so special, strong too. It was just a few compartments forward. Calum didn't know whether to actually use his aura this time or to simply act like himself.
Standing outside the door to the compartment, he made his choice and entered it.
"Hello"
