Chapter 122: Chapter 122: Pilina is Out
Grand Priest: "Universe 9, Lavender is out!"
Hearing this, Zeno gleefully tapped the icon on his divine pad, his eyes wide with excitement. Another fighter down, another step closer to the ultimate showdown.
"Brother!" Bergamo and Basil yelled, frustration and anger mixing in their voices as they watched Lavender vanish from the stage. Losing their brother was a heavy blow; the Trio of Danger had trained, fought, and survived together, and seeing one of their own eliminated was almost unimaginable.
"Hohoho!" Frieza chuckled, casting a quick glance at Goten before flashing a smirk at Bergamo. The three wolves were a formidable team, but with Lavender out of the picture and Basil already wounded, Frieza felt his confidence surge. He knew he had the upper hand now.
Bergamo gritted his teeth, every muscle tense with anger. He clenched his fists tightly, the fur on his knuckles standing on end as he prepared to charge.
"Ha!" With a loud shout, Bergamo's body swelled, his muscles expanding as his power surged. He launched himself toward Frieza with renewed fury.
Frieza's eyes glinted with amusement. With a cold laugh, he sped forward to meet Bergamo, their fists colliding in mid-air.
BANG BANG BANG!!
The sound of their blows echoed through the arena as their bodies clashed, fists and feet moving like blurs, each strike resonating with explosive force. The speed and intensity of their battle left the ground trembling, cracks forming under the impact of each hit.
Bang!!
After a fierce exchange, Frieza sped up, his movements becoming a blur as he struck Bergamo's abdomen with a brutal right hook. The blow forced Bergamo back, gasping in pain.
"Brother!" Basil, who had been hovering near the edge of the stage, shouted in alarm.
Bergamo gritted his teeth, slamming his feet into the ground to regain his balance. He managed to slow down just enough to keep from toppling off the edge. But just as he steadied himself, Frieza's figure vanished.
"Brother, behind you!" Basil's urgent shout rang out across the arena.
"What?!" Bergamo spun around, his eyes widening in shock as he saw Frieza already inches away, a beam of red energy crackling at his fingertip.
Frieza sneered, unleashing the energy blast straight into Bergamo's abdomen at point-blank range. The force of the blast sent Bergamo flying back like a cannonball.
"Haha!" Frieza laughed coldly, savoring the sight of his foe struggling.
However, as Bergamo was propelled backward, he absorbed the energy from Frieza's attack, his body growing in size, swelling with the additional power. He managed to stop himself mid-air, landing back on the ground with a heavy thud, breathing heavily but standing tall.
"Huff… Huff…" Bergamo's breath came in ragged gasps, his body trembling from the effort. He eyed Frieza warily, realizing just how close he'd come to being knocked out. If the arena hadn't been so spacious, he might already be out of the game.
Frieza's sneer only grew wider as he watched Bergamo's labored breaths. Then, in a surprising move, he powered down, letting the golden aura dissipate and returning to his regular form.
"What are you doing?" Bergamo's voice was sharp, his eyes narrowed with suspicion.
Frieza chuckled, his voice filled with malice. "Oh, the game's just getting started. I don't want to waste all my fun on you just yet."
With that, he turned and started to walk away. Bergamo, confused, held his position, watching Frieza with wary eyes. Perhaps he could conserve his own strength, too—this tournament was just beginning, after all.
"What's going on? Why isn't Frieza fighting?" Beerus demanded, his eyes flashing with confusion and annoyance.
"I have no idea," Whis replied, his tone unreadable.
As Frieza stepped away, Basil quickly ran over to his brother's side. "Brother, why did you let him go?"
"The match has only just started," Bergamo replied, his voice low. "We need to conserve our strength."
"But… Lavender…" Basil's voice wavered, the memory of his brother's elimination still fresh.
"It's fine," Bergamo replied, his expression hardening. "If we get a chance, I'll avenge him myself."
Basil nodded slowly, his fists clenching in determination. He cast a sidelong glance at Goten. "By the way, wasn't it that brat from Universe 7 who attacked us earlier?"
Bergamo's eyes darkened. "Yes. If it weren't for him, Lavender wouldn't have been eliminated so quickly."
Basil's jaw tightened. "What do you say we go after that kid?"
"Not yet," Bergamo replied, his voice measured. "We'll wait. When the moment is right, we'll take him down."
…
Meanwhile, across the arena, Gohan and Piccolo were locked in a fierce battle with Universe 6's Namekian warriors, Pilina and Saonel. Their struggle had worn on, and both Gohan and Piccolo were feeling the strain.
"Gohan, I don't think it makes sense to keep dragging this out," Piccolo said, his eyes narrowed as he blocked another attack. "Why don't we unleash our full power?"
Gohan nodded. "I agree, Uncle Piccolo."
With a determined look, Gohan clenched his fists, a powerful surge of ki emanating from him as his energy spiked. "Ahhh!" he roared, his hair and eyebrows turning silver, his pupils blazing red, and a fierce, silver aura with crackling pink lightning swirling around him.
This was Beast Gohan.
"Ha!" Piccolo roared as well, his muscles expanding, his skin turning a fiery shade of orange, his eyes glowing red. His presence radiated pure power and intensity—he was now Orange Piccolo.
"What… What?!" Pilina and Saonel stared in shock, disbelief etched on their faces.
In the stands, the two Omni-Kings gasped in unison.
"Gohan transformed!" Present Omni-King said, his excitement evident.
"Yes, and it's a transformation we've never seen before!" the Future Omni-King added, his voice filled with awe.
The Grand Priest smiled as he watched the Omni-Kings, their delight filling him with pride.
On the battlefield, Frieza scowled, watching Gohan with undisguised resentment. The memory of being defeated by Beast Gohan after his resurrection was still fresh, a bitter reminder of his own limits.
With an explosion of movement, Gohan and Piccolo rushed forward, their speed blurring them into streaks of color as they charged at Pilina and Saonel. Within seconds, they were upon them, fists and feet flying at lightning speed.
Unable to keep up with the rapid attacks, Pilina and Saonel were forced to retreat, scrambling to block each incoming blow as they were pushed closer and closer to the edge of the arena.
Realizing the danger, Champa, who had been watching anxiously from the stands, couldn't hold back any longer. "Hit! Go help Pilina and Saonel!" he shouted, his voice desperate.
Hit nodded, his expression impassive as he turned toward the chaos unfolding across the arena. In an instant, he vanished, moving with his characteristic Time-Skip ability.
Nearby, Tien noticed Hit's movement and quickly formed his hands into a triangle. "Tri-Beam!" he shouted, unleashing a powerful energy wave in Hit's direction.
BANG!!
The attack landed behind Hit, creating an explosion of dust and debris. Tien's energy waves weren't like typical blasts; they were invisible ki waves, detectable only through environmental changes.
Despite the attack, Hit had already vanished, forcing Tien to stop his assault and scan the battlefield for his target.
"Gohan, Piccolo, Hit is heading your way!" Tien shouted.
Hearing this, Piccolo took immediate action, launching a powerful punch forward. Bang!! His fist connected with Saonel's abdomen, sending him flying back.
Just as Saonel was about to tumble off the stage, Hit appeared beside him, catching him mid-air and stabilizing him. But his intervention came too late to save Pilina, who was locked in combat with Gohan. With a single, earth-shaking punch, Gohan sent Pilina hurtling backward.
"Universe 6, Pilina is out!" The Grand Priest's voice resonated through the arena.
Champa clenched his fists, seething as he glared at Pilina, who had been teleported back to the spectator seats.
"Why didn't you two listen to me? I told you not to pick a fight with Universe 7!" Champa shouted, his frustration boiling over.
"We only wanted to test their strength, but we didn't expect… to get tangled up with them," Pilina muttered, looking down in shame.
Champa could only huff in exasperation, his anger momentarily robbing him of words.
