Chapter 125: Chapter 125: Universe 10 is Cleared
"That guy Vegeta… has he actually run into someone that strong?" Goku muttered, sensing the intensity of Vegeta's ki. Though focused on his own battle, he couldn't ignore the spike in energy from his rival and teammate.
In front of him, Ribrianne and Roasie stood, their expressions turning from smug to solemn as they watched Goku transform into Super Saiyan Blue. Until now, they had fought a Goku who seemed playful, almost disinterested in ending their bout. But now, faced with his transformed state, they felt a palpable shift in the air.
"Goku still hasn't defeated them?" Piccolo commented with a slight frown as he observed the ongoing battle from a distance. He knew Goku could have ended the fight quickly if he wanted, but Goku's tendency to toy with his opponents sometimes frustrated even his closest friends.
"Uncle Piccolo, it seems like Uncle Vegeta is up against a strong enemy. We should go help him!" Gohan said, his tone urgent.
"Right," Piccolo nodded in agreement.
Without delay, the two fighters, accompanied by Tien, sprang into action, making their way toward Vegeta's location.
Huff... Vegeta exhaled heavily, his breaths ragged. Although he had just managed to knock Toppo away, the continuous fighting had taken its toll. He could feel his strength waning, his energy reserves depleting faster than expected. Originally, he had planned to rest after taking down K'nsi and Vewon, but Toppo and Dyspo had forced him into another grueling clash.
"Uncle Vegeta!" Gohan called out, arriving just in time with Piccolo and Tien at his side.
Vegeta nodded at them, a hint of relief passing over his face. Despite his pride, even he recognized the advantage of having reinforcements in a situation like this. He was powerful, but in a team battle where endurance was key, having allies made a crucial difference.
Dyspo scowled, his gaze shifting from Vegeta to Gohan and the others. His fists tightened, and he looked to Toppo, who had just pulled himself out of the rubble, brushing dust off his uniform.
"What do we do, Captain? It's two against four now!" Dyspo said, his voice edged with frustration.
Toppo studied Vegeta and his allies, his face serious. "Vegeta's power is formidable. I'm not confident about winning a one-on-one fight with him, and now that he has backup, it's best we regroup and conserve our energy. We'll deal with them later when the numbers are more in our favor."
Dyspo nodded reluctantly. Though he was eager to fight, he understood Toppo's logic.
Without another word, the two warriors turned and made their way toward other parts of the arena, targeting contestants from other universes.
Watching them retreat, Vegeta let out a sigh of relief, allowing his body to revert to its base form. The tension in his muscles eased as he stood, regaining some composure.
As the warriors from each universe began pacing themselves, conserving their strength, Goten was busy targeting the weaker opponents, accompanied by Android 21.
Grand Priest: "Universe 4, Damom is out!"
Grand Priest: "Universe 10, Rubalt is out!"
Suddenly, the Grand Priest's voice echoed across the arena. "All contestants from Universe 10 are out and will be erased by Grand Zeno!"
In the spectator seats, Rumsshi, the God of Destruction for Universe 10, visibly panicked. "No, Grand Zeno, please! Show mercy!" he pleaded, desperation coloring his voice as he turned to the Omni-King.
But Grand Zeno seemed unfazed by Rumsshi's plea. With an impassive expression, he raised his left hand, his fingers glowing with an intense, dazzling light. In a single, silent moment, Universe 10 was erased. The light vanished, leaving only the angels, the sole survivors of each universe's erasure.
The immediate and total disappearance of Universe 10 sent shivers down the spines of those watching, especially the remaining Gods of Destruction and Supreme Kais. Even Beerus, who normally wore an air of casual indifference, was visibly shaken, a cold sweat trickling down his face.
"Vados… is Universe 10 truly gone?" Champa asked, his voice tinged with fear and disbelief.
Raising her staff, Vados peered into its crystal orb, confirming the outcome. "Yes, Lord Champa. Universe 10 is now a void. Complete darkness remains where it once was. Even the sun in their galaxy is gone."
Champa's expression grew more serious, his anxiety mounting. With the possibility of complete erasure looming, he understood the reality of the situation. Despite Universe 6's strengths, he knew that Universe 7, with Goten and Goku, held a distinct advantage in this tournament. He had attempted to recruit Goten before the tournament, offering the young Saiyan enticing rewards to join Universe 6, but Goten had refused. His allegiance was firm, rooted in the bonds of Universe 7.
On the competition stage, the mood had shifted dramatically. The elimination of Universe 10 had reminded every contestant of the stakes, instilling a sense of urgency in the air. Those who were less powerful, already uncertain, now felt a deep-seated fear gnawing at them. With complete erasure as a looming threat, even the Gods of Destruction and Supreme Kais began urging their fighters, imploring them to fight harder, to secure every last chance for survival.
In this mounting tension, the warriors of Universe 3 took decisive action. Joitsukai, Pancea, Borareta, and Paparoni, recognizing their individual limitations, merged into a colossal warrior named Anilaza. Towering over the arena, Anilaza's form was both awe-inspiring and intimidating. His upper body was clad in white skin, while his lower half bore a deep purple hue. His pink eyes glowed with fierce energy, and a red energy core pulsed atop his head. Two antenna-like ears framed his face, each adorned with a large green gem. A massive green gem glistened on his chest, and each wrist bore its own crimson jewel.
Anilaza's sheer size made the ground quake with every step, and his powerful presence sent ripples of unease through the remaining fighters.
"Lord Grand Priest, Universe 3 has committed a foul! They've merged!" Champa protested loudly, his voice ringing out as he pointed toward the gigantic form of Anilaza.
The Grand Priest turned to the two Omni-Kings, who watched the scene with fascination, their expressions captivated by Anilaza's imposing presence. "As long as Grand Zeno is pleased, this is not considered a foul," the Grand Priest responded calmly.
Champa's face fell, his jaw slackening in disbelief. He quickly turned to Vados. "Vados, get the Potara earrings from the Supreme Kai! If they're going to fuse, then we will too!"
"Understood, Lord Champa." Vados wasted no time, procuring the Potara earrings from Fuwa, Universe 6's Supreme Kai.
"Give the earrings to Caulifla and Kale!" Champa ordered, his gaze sharp and determined.
With a flick of her staff, Vados transported the earrings directly into Caulifla's hands.
"What's this?" Caulifla asked, inspecting the unfamiliar earrings with a curious expression.
"Caulifla!" Champa shouted from the stands. "Those are fusion earrings! If you and Kale wear them on opposite ears, you'll merge into one being!"
"Fusion, huh?" Caulifla smirked, glancing at Kale. She could already feel the thrill of newfound power coursing through her veins at the thought of fusion.
In the stands, Beerus scowled, his fists clenched as he watched Champa's antics. "That guy Champa… what a low move!"
Though Goten's strength was undeniable, Beerus couldn't shake the feeling that Champa's actions were pushing the boundaries of fairness. But with Zeno's approval, there was little he could do.
Champa, catching Beerus's glare, smirked smugly. "Why the long face, Beerus? If you're so bothered, why don't you hand your Potara earrings over to Goku and the others?"
"Humph!" Beerus folded his arms, turning away with a look of defiance. "Not necessary!"
Seeing this, Universe 2's Supreme Kai turned to Heles, Universe 2's God of Destruction. "Lady Heles, shall we give the Potara earrings to our fighters as well?"
Heles pondered the suggestion, her expression contemplative as she weighed their options.
As other Supreme Kais observed, similar thoughts crossed their minds, each of them considering Potara fusion as a way to even the playing field.
But Quitela, the sly God of Destruction from Universe 4, scoffed. "If Beerus doesn't need it, then neither do I."
Despite the chaotic atmosphere, Quitela's comment only added fuel to the competitive fire. The remaining universes understood the stakes: fight with every ounce of strength, or face the erasure that had just claimed Universe 10.
