Chapter 6: Chapter 6: Suppression

{T/N: As I said earlier, my little challenge was an experiment, so I was going to do the chapter regardless of whether or not y'all participated.

Today I ate the best dinner I've had in quite a while, so I'm in quite a good mood. Here's the chapter...}

...

Watching the two test subjects in the lab gradually turn green and grow stronger, Russell couldn't help but feel a sense of awe.

Compared to Russell's calm demeanor, Dr. Wilson who was standing beside him was far more excited.

Dr. Wilson not only let out bursts of excited cheers, but also waved his arms around, almost as if he wanted to run around the observation room in excitement.

The process of the test subjects growing larger and turning green didn't last very long, it took less than half a minute before it completely stopped.

Although they did not remain in the enhanced green state, this was enough to prove that the experiment had succeeded.

Moreover, based on the test subjects' current vital signs, it was clear that they had fully integrated the Abomination Serum.

"Let's go meet them after their rebirth!"

Without waiting for Russell's response, Dr. Wilson grabbed him and pulled him back into Lab 3.

"Vital signs normal, fusion reaction normal, no adverse rejection observed. Everything is normal!"

After confirming the status of the two test subjects, Dr. Wilson turned to the assistants in the observation room and said, "Release the restraints!"

After Russell had easily broken free of the restraints last time, Dr. Wilson had further reinforced the binding mechanisms on the operating tables.

In Dr. Wilson's own words, unless the test subjects could drag ten main battle tanks, there was no way they could break free from the reinforced restraints.

To test this, Dr. Wilson had even asked Russell to try the reinforced restraints, which ended with Russell failing to break free.

"Are you sure it's not too early to release the restraints? We haven't confirmed whether the test subjects will exhibit aggressive behavior."

An assistant standing next to Dr. Wilson spoke up quietly, glancing at Russell as he did so.

Russell's rebellion a month ago had left a deep impression on these assistants, so they weren't eager to experience another test subject rampage.

"It's fine. With Russell here, even if the test subjects go berserk, he can handle it!"

Russell hadn't spent much time with Dr. Wilson and was not very familiar with him.

But he always felt that Dr. Wilson seemed to have an inexplicable trust in him.

Dr. Wilson genuinely seemed to treat Russell as a core member of Hydra, showing no wariness or caution toward him.

It was precisely because of this inexplicable trust that Russell had been able to gather a lot of information over the past month and gain a semblance of freedom.

Although the assistant standing nearby didn't fully agree with Dr. Wilson's decision, he was just an assistant, so he had no choice but to comply.

As the restraints on the operating tables were slowly released, the two test subjects sat up and looked around in confusion at Dr. Wilson and Russell.

Russell felt a strange sense of familiarity with these two test subjects, perhaps because they had been injected with his blood.

When Dr. Wilson approached the male test subject to observe him up close, the male suddenly reached out with his right hand, aiming for Dr. Wilson's neck.

The male test subject's movement wasn't particularly fast, but it wasn't slow either.

To Dr. Wilson and the assistant, the male's attack was sudden, and they wouldn't have been able to dodge it.

But to Russell, the male's movement wasn't fast at all. He had more than enough time to intercept the attack.

Just as the male's hand was about to grab Dr. Wilson's neck, Russell seized his wrist and twisted it slightly, effortlessly neutralizing the attack.

The male test subject hadn't expected Russell to catch his wrist. Having just undergone enhancement, his mind wasn't fully clear, so his instincts took over.

The male tried to pull his right hand back but found that his strength was no match for Russell's. Instinctively, he entered his enhanced state.

His skin turned green, his body grew taller by over 20 centimeters, and his muscles bulged visibly. In moments, he had become significantly stronger.

With his enhanced strength, the male finally managed to pull his hand free, but before he could do anything else, Russell's right fist was already in his face.

*Boom!*

Taking the punch head-on, the male test subject was sent flying, crashing into the lab wall and leaving a noticeable dent.

After sending the male flying, Russell turned to the female test subject, his tone calm, "Do you want to try too?"

For some reason, despite Russell's calm tone, the female test subject felt an overwhelming sense of fear.

She instinctively shook her head and subconsciously scooted away, trying to put distance between herself and Russell.

Russell noticed her small movements but didn't say anything. Instead, he walked over to the male test subject, who had been sent flying.

Russell lifted the 2.1-meter-tall, muscular, green male test subject like a chicken and said calmly, "Don't do anything stupid if you want to live."

With that, he set the male down and gestured for him to return to the operating table.

Under Russell's suppression, the male test subject finally abandoned any rebellious thoughts and silently lay back on the operating table, allowing Dr. Wilson and the others to conduct their examination.

By the time Dr. Wilson finished the examination, half an hour had passed.

After fitting the two test subjects with the same Electroshock Explosive Collars as Russell's, Dr. Wilson arranged for them to be taken to their rooms.

"Based on the data alone, their enhancements are stronger than yours and closer to the original Abomination...

But why were you able to suppress him so easily? According to the strength comparison, your physical strength should be weaker than his!"

After glancing at the examination report, Dr. Wilson asked Russell with some confusion.

Although Dr. Wilson was a top-tier biological scientist, he wasn't a fighter, so he didn't understand that the outcome of a battle wasn't solely determined by data.

"I'm a trained fighter, while he's just an ordinary person with enhanced strength..."

Russell's simple answer was one of the reasons, but not the whole story...

During his brief confrontation with the male test subject, Russell had indeed noticed that his own strength was inferior to the male's. However, he had also discovered something else strange...
