Chapter 274: C234

"Cyborg…"

Upon witnessing this scene, Coulson began to doubt the legitimacy of the war between S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Justice League.

Hill, however, felt no such doubt.

Her tragic childhood had shaped her into a person of cold, decisive action. With S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Justice League now embroiled in such chaos, there was no turning back.

Before firing the cannon, Hill had considered that the Sky Mothership's attacks might impact the city below.

But at this point, the damage was already done. S.H.I.E.L.D. couldn't afford to back down now. Furthermore, capturing Batman could still turn the tide in their favor.

To Hill, the sacrifice would be worth it. After all, it was Nick Fury himself who had taught her this hard truth.

"The Justice League is too arrogant!" Hill declared firmly.

"Since Cyborg has no intention of engaging in the fight, that leaves Batman alone to break into the Sky Mothership. This is to our advantage. Redirect all firepower—ignore Cyborg and focus everything on that fighter. Batman must be stopped at all costs!"

"Understood!"

"Yes, ma'am!"

The S.H.I.E.L.D. agents obeyed, accelerating their attacks. Yet, the Batplane was as elusive as a slippery eel, weaving through the barrage of cannon fire with uncanny precision.

Unable to land a direct hit, the agents resorted to saturating the air with ammunition, trying to force the Batplane away from the Sky Mothership.

Meanwhile, Cyborg remained on the outskirts, intercepting stray shells with his bare hands to protect the city below.

At that moment, the citizens of Washington turned their eyes skyward, unable to ignore the spectacle above.

The massive Sky Mothership loomed like a dark cloud, relentlessly firing on a Batplane that was no more than a fraction of its size.

Online, the news exploded. Photos and videos spread like wildfire, shared and reposted by countless users.

Among the most viral images were those of the Avengers—Captain America included—captured and bound on the ground.

Surrounding them stood the Justice League: Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, Spider-Man, Venom, Daredevil, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

And high above them, Cyborg, who had earlier fought Iron Man, now stood as a silent guardian, catching stray shells with his hands.

That left only Batman, who had yet to make a proper appearance.

For those familiar with the Justice League, there was one more name missing—a mysterious hero known only as the hobgoblin.

But at that moment, no one gave much thought to him. The public was certain that the figure piloting the Batplane had to be Batman.

And they weren't wrong.

Anton, piloting the Batplane, expertly evaded the Sky Mothership's barrage, firing precise energy rays to disable its shell launchers.

In a desperate bid to stop him, S.H.I.E.L.D. scrambled their F-35 fighter jets, hoping to deliver a decisive blow.

But they underestimated Anton—or rather, Batman.

What Anton had been waiting for was this very moment. When the F-35s were deployed, the Sky Mothership was forced to reduce its cannon fire to avoid hitting its own aircraft. This thinning of the barrage gave Anton the opening he needed.

As the first F-35 fighter began to take off, Anton seized the moment. With calculated precision, he fired a single energy ray, striking the jet's wing and disabling it before it could fully ascend.

Using this distraction, the Batplane surged forward, finally reaching close range with the Sky Mothership.

Click!

The rear compartment opened, and Anton jumped out.

Under the gaze of all eyes, Anton transformed into Batman. He glided for about a hundred meters, skillfully avoiding the barrage of shells, before landing on the deck of the Sky Mothership amid countless astonished stares.

"Batman is here!"

"The Sky Mothership has been breached! All agents, move out! We must stop him from reaching the command room!"

"Hurry!"

On the Sky Mothership, Hill remained calm but her expression darkened. A flurry of orders was issued as agents scrambled to arm themselves and take down Batman on the deck.

She hadn't anticipated that after all their effort, Batman would seize the opportunity so decisively.

Coulson sighed, the grim possibility of defeat looming over him. He could almost see the Sky Mothership falling to its opponent.

At the same time,

The radio host received a report from an on-site reporter.

"That pilot in the Batplane... it's really Batman!"

"Batman piloted the Batplane, destroyed an enemy fighter on the super battleship, and covered over 100 meters while dodging countless shells. He then glided onto the battleship's deck…"

"We can't yet predict what will happen next. After Batman arrived on the super battleship, the enormous ship ceased its attacks, and Cyborg returned to the team. He seemed confident in Batman's abilities."

"Now, let's stay tuned for the final outcome!"

Across the internet, countless people refreshed the photos shared by Washington's citizens. These were uploaded to major forums, websites, and social media, while live radio continued broadcasting the host's impassioned commentary.

Everyone now knew that Batman had entered the enemy's camp. The final result would soon be revealed.

After reaching the deck, Anton raised his hand and fired a bat-shaped dart.

Dididi!

The dart exploded instantly.

The shockwave sent agents in protective gear flying. Their heads were bloodied, their ears ringing with a deafening buzz.

Though S.H.I.E.L.D.'s equipment was advanced and could withstand ordinary explosions, it couldn't prevent them from losing most of their combat effectiveness.

Boom!

Anton wasn't holding back now. He fired a flash bullet, blinding the agents who were coming in behind him, before charging forward like a wolf among sheep.

His fists, shoulders, knees, calves, and head became weapons of destruction.

Although S.H.I.E.L.D.'s agents were well-trained, they couldn't withstand the full force of Anton, now fully embodying Batman's combat style.

The entire clash on the deck lasted barely two minutes.

When it was over, only one person remained standing on the spacious deck: Batman.

Anton glared coldly at a camera in the corner of the deck, said nothing, and moved forward. He crossed the first line of defense with ease, and the command room seemed within reach.

Command room

Hill's face was one of utter shock.

She hadn't expected Batman to wipe out all the agents so quickly. Not only had he overpowered them, but he also seemed to have complete control over his actions, maintaining his principle of non-lethal force.

"We've lost."

Coulson's voice was bitter. He turned to Hill and said, "We need to surrender. Let Batman come through. It's the only way to minimize the damage."

Washington Square had been reduced to ruins.

All the Avengers watched as Batman entered the Sky Mothership, knowing that the outcome was sealed.

S.H.I.E.L.D. had lost.

Before this battle, some might have had doubts, but after seeing the Justice League's strength firsthand, those doubts were completely erased.

The power of the Justice League far exceeded anything they had imagined. No one could fathom that Batman, as the leader of the Justice League, would be defeated by a mere battleship.

In a sense, the defeated Avengers now held even more confidence in Batman than those who were only listening to the radio broadcasts.

Whoosh!

Cyborg returned to the square from the sky and joined his companions.

This had been the Justice League's largest mobilization yet. Except for Phil, everyone was present.

Of course, this battle also marked the Justice League's greatest triumph, showcasing their strength and momentum.

No one would dare underestimate the Justice League now. Even the military personnel in the Washington Military District were secretly astonished when they saw the news and pictures online.

On-site, as cyborg returned to the ground, Tony spoke up.

"Even if you win, this matter isn't over yet."

Tony's voice was serious. "Cyborg , how do you explain Hydra and the assassination of Nick?"

"Before we came here, we removed the military personnel and helped Nick Fury escape the hospital," cyborg responded, his gaze shifting to one of the Avengers who was tied up. "Soon you'll know the truth about Nick Fury identified Batman as the mastermind behind the scenes."

As cyborg continued, he spoke of incredible revelations, shocking the Avengers, who had no idea what was unfolding.

"By the way, whether or not there's a fake Nick Fury doesn't really matter."

"Based on our investigation, we have reason to believe there is a Hydra member among you."

"Who do you think that could be?"

The words hit like a bombshell. Not only the Avengers, but even the Justice League, except for Anton's clone, were stunned.

Spider-Man, Daredevil, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and others had learned of the threat before the Justice League took action.

Moreover, recent reports from the Daily bugle had revealed that Batman was battling a terrifying organization operating from the shadows. This organization was Hydra, with agents embedded worldwide.

But they never expected that even S.H.I.E.L.D.'s own superhero team—the Avengers, which was designed to be a counterpart to the Justice League, representing peace and justice—had Hydra members in their ranks.

The Avengers were, for the most part, high-ranking members of S.H.I.E.L.D., and the revelation that Hydra spies had infiltrated their ranks sent shockwaves through them.

Rumlow's heart went cold. He was horrified that Batman's intelligence network had uncovered his identity, but he tried to mask his shock with composure.

"Don't believe him," Rumlow gritted through his teeth, his voice low. "They want to create division within our ranks."

"This is it," cyborg said, his eyes narrowing at Rumlow. "Do you still think this is unnecessary?"

He looked directly at Rumlow and chuckled.

"Crossbones- Rumlow, or should I call you… a member of Hydra?"

The room fell silent.

In the next moment, every eye was on Rumlow.
