DC Heroes in Marvel

Chapter 282: C242

After listening to the old man's words, Anton caught the mention of a particular project:

The PEGASUS Project!

According to the timeline, this project first appeared in Captain Marvel. It was Dr. Lawson and Howard Stark, disguised by the Kree, who initiated the research project on the Tesseract.

Later, in Thor's Egg and The Avengers 1, Nick Fury restarted the Pegasus Project. When S.H.I.E.L.D. was using the Tesseract to study dark matter, it was stolen by the invading Loki.

The military is actually no stranger to the Pegasus Project.

From the start, the Pegasus Project was a joint research initiative by NASA, the Air Force, and S.H.I.E.L.D. to develop alternative energy sources and light-speed engines.

However, due to the Kree's interference, the death of Dr. Lawson, the absorption of all energy sources by Captain Marvel, the disappearance of the Tesseract , and other chaotic events, the Pegasus Project was reluctantly shelved.

No one wanted it—until decades later, when the Tesseract reappeared. S.H.I.E.L.D. then restarted the Pegasus Project, but it ultimately led to the New York battle in The Avengers 1...

From Anton's perspective, it was foreseeable that the military would agree to restart the Pegasus Project with S.H.I.E.L.D., driven by the desire for unlimited energy and a light-speed engine.

Even the military, with its limited knowledge of the Tesseract , could recognize its value.

"No wonder S.H.I.E.L.D. was able to retreat after this incident..."

When Anton heard this key point, he finally understood.

Nick Fury, the old fox, had used the Tesseract to lure the military.

However, after the Pegasus Project hit a snag, the relationship between the Justice League and the military gave the Justice League more reason to get involved.

For Anton, this was also a good thing.

"By the way, Wick has gone to take over the Ares factory, and news will come soon." The old man shifted the topic. "What are your plans lately? Since you don't plan to continue making movies, maybe you should join Wayne with John..."

"No, the new movie has been approved. I'll head to Los Angeles in a few days." Anton replied. "I won't get involved in Wayne. You know, company management is not my strength." He glanced at John. "Your cheap son is back. I believe he can be your successor and help you build Wayne Group."

"A new movie?" The old man was intrigued.

Anton's rise was quite legendary. What was most interesting was that every time Anton made a movie, a new superhero appeared in the Justice League.

This fact had been analyzed over and over by countless people.

No one wanted to acknowledge it, but this was Anton's golden touch.

There was a theory online: The Justice League wasn't a new organization but a mysterious one formed long ago. Batman was simply one of the founders.

Perhaps, with the changing times, Batman believed it was time for the Justice League to go public. He found Anton, filmed a biopic on Batman's debut, and then helped form the new Justice League.

As Batman's old comrades saw him getting involved, they changed their minds and joined one by one.

To introduce these old comrades, Batman ordered Anton to shoot a biographical film to announce their return.

Although this theory hadn't gained universal acceptance, it had garnered some attention online.

After all, with Batman's appearance, people were starting to realize that the world was much more complex than they had imagined.

In the shadows, aliens, mutants, tech conglomerates, and magical creatures were emerging in droves.

Who knows what the future holds?

"What are you going to shoot?"

Even John couldn't help but be curious.

"Constantine."

Anton wasn't afraid of spoilers in advance and said, "A story about the devil, involving God and Satan."

"What?"

The old man and John were both stunned.

God, Satan!

They had known it was related to Christianity.

The Wonder Woman movie Anton had previously made was tied to Greek mythology...

How did it feel like they were on a similar wavelength?

"Are there really demons and gods in this world?"

The old man stared straight at Anton, and John's expression mirrored his, both of them filled with curiosity.

"I don't know if there is a devil, but there must be a god."

Anton thought for a moment and said, "Isn't Wonder Woman a god? You'll see two gods in the near future... However, it's not so much a god as it is an alien."

"Alien..."

The old man and John exchanged looks, understanding the scientific explanation behind the so-called gods.

"So, this Constantine, is he also a member of the Justice League?"

John asked again.

As previously known, every time Anton makes a movie, a new Justice League hero appears.

As for Constantine...

John wasn't very familiar with DC's works, so he'd never heard of the name.

"No, Constantine is not a member of the Justice League. Strictly speaking, he's just a less intimate friend of Batman."

Anton thought for a moment and said, "If you have to classify him, he's a member of the Dark Justice League."

The founding members of the Dark Justice League include Madame Xanadu, Constantine, Zatanna, Deadman, and the Shadowpact.

In addition to these founding members, the organization has continued to add new members.

It's worth noting that the Dark Justice League consists entirely of supernatural heroes from the DC universe who use magic.

Most people believe they're not suited for the traditional Justice League, which is led by Batman. The two groups are different.

In previous iterations, the well-known members of the Dark Justice League included Wonder Woman, Etrigan, the Human Bat, Zatanna, and the Swamp Thing.

"Dark Justice League?"

Hearing Anton's answer, the old man and John exchanged glances. They felt like they'd learned another important piece of information.

Then, they recalled some of the speculation circulating on the Internet and suddenly felt they had unlocked the truth.

They decided not to ask any more questions.

...

At that moment, in a building in New York, in a laboratory.

"Reed, all the investors withdrew their capital. Our experiment lacks funds and can't continue."

Sue Storm looked at her frowning lover, worried that Reed Richards couldn't handle the blow. She felt a little down.

But to her surprise, Reed broke into a big smile.

"Sue, we made it!"

The future Mr. Fantastic, Reed Richards, clenched his fists, his expression filled with unprecedented excitement and ecstasy.

He repeated and emphasized, "We made it!"

"What?"

Sue still thought that Reed couldn't handle the disappointment. She was about to say something when she saw Reed slam his hand down. His arm stretched out like rubber, extending several meters.

"This..."

Sue's eyes widened as she thought of their friend, the researcher who had accompanied them to space, Ben Grimm.

After Ben Grimm returned from space, his body had changed, gaining a rock-hard body and immense strength—but he was disfigured as a result.

Sue had initially thought Ben's experience was a unique case, but now she realized an unbelievable change had occurred with Reed.

So...

"Sue!"

Reed looked at his girlfriend with intense eyes. "Something must have happened to you, to your brother Johnny, and even to Victor Von Doom. We made it! Our bodies were altered by the cosmic storm. The radiation from the sacred energy caused a transformation... Though it wasn't what we initially expected, we succeeded!"
