Demon Lord's Reincarnation

Chapter 1363 DOES IBARRA KNOW?!

Because right as we got home, Vera informed us of the news that Artem led an attack on the Old Bilibid Prison or the Manila City Jail while we were away.

It was something that should've taken careful planning and a good number of people, but brute force does work sometimes as long as a few things were guaranteed.

Firstly, whether that place still had allied forces or not, they should've been keeping contact with the outside and if they weren't, that only means that they either joined the other side or were doing their own thing or agenda.

Secondly, regarding the prisoners, whether they did something petty or not, while it was true that everyone deserved a second chance, there was still a difference between losing the first chance and someone who hadn't done anything in the first place.

But yeah, it was also with the help of Iskoh's blessing and his top-up of forces because after a thorough review of drone footage from above the Manila City Jail, they discovered that the prisoners used the place to contain them to be their personal domicile.

In addition, they had complete control of the prison and there were even guards who were assumed to have defected or just their brethren who tidied up, picked up some uniforms, and pretended to be that place's guards to take advantage of survivors who stumbled upon the place looking for refuge.

With that subject in mind, the main reason Iskoh supported Artem's initiative to attack that place was because of stolen identities.

If this was the old world, cleaning up the filth inside that place would need a more serious reason but once Iskoh's people made contact with the Manila City Jail's "people" for the first time since forever, some of the names they introduced themselves with were the people whom the Mayor lost pretty recently.

While they didn't manage to take their vehicle, they were probably taken themselves, and tortured and played with until they gave everything away, even their identities.

So yeah, with a Mayor's wrath plus a group who had a member who had a tendency to make napalm, describing their plan of attack as "smoking them out" wouldn't do them justice. Because they literally burned the place to the fucking ground and the luckier ones died instantly from the barrage of mortars and several types of explosives. Discover exclusive content at empire

Because for our last reason, living quite close to an enemy base was a huge no-no, because even a certain watchman said that the people who said to keep their enemies closer knows jack fucking shit about warfare.

Though it only involved head-on strategies to deal with the enemy, there was no way we'd try subterfuge or spy shit amongst people who were dumb enough to do stupid shit AND get caught doing stupid shit. They were the type where we could win using a rock against a rock—and the only difference was that we'd be using a bigger and better rock, and using paper would just be overkill.

So yeah, while I was skimming through the pages and pages of Vera's report, I also noticed the request for a mountain of construction resources requested by Bogan and Mikhail. It was to fully refurbish the jail that they set on fucking fire, and their next order of business was to spruce it up to a stronghold.

"Ah… no."

Vera's ears perked as I talked to myself out loud, "Excuse me?"

"This request for construction materials. Tell them no. As good as a location it was, the priority should be to do it on the station they're in and the preceding and succeeding ones. And that place's too huge for their numbers, the whole Line 1, even."

"Noted, I'll tell them just that. Is there anything else?"

"Umm, yeah. Do ask Bogdan for a barrel of napalm and some other improvised explosives he could cook up like— pipebombs. I'd love pipebombs that both explode quicker and longer."

"Huh?"

"I'm not sure if it's because of the longer wick or the schematics inside but I'd need a batch that could explode a few seconds as I threw it—like regular grenades—and I'd like another batch that would explode for a few more seconds because I'd request Ken to make small timers and have attached to the pipebombs Bogdan would be making."

"I see— to attract zombies in the general vicinity first."

"Yes—"

"But can't you just throw a timer first and then the pipebomb later?"

"I mean— That'll work just fine too but it depends on the situation, no? If we're trying to thin a horde, we'd need the quicker ones but if we're trying to get around them, we'd need the ones with the timers or just straight-up timers to have them move to another place. The bombs on 'em are just icing on the cake or if we're unlucky, attract more zombies lurking around."

"Makes sense. You never get around hordes though, you usually lead a group to take them head-on ALWAYS."

"I guess that's true, too. Let's just say if the situation calls for it, we'd have a way around it too."

"I understand."

"Okay..."

"..."

"Ah— Are you waiting for me to finish reading the report?"

"Yes. Katya wanted me to see you read it through the end."

"Umm… Okay, I guess?"

Quickly reading through the report, it surprisingly had a log of things they used and gathered themselves, and there were highlights to certain items or vehicles they procured that I might like to take from their hands. It involved nerdy things and other items they uncovered from abandoned survivor homes and what remained from the Manila City Jail.

While it was a little concerning that they now had an arsenal of weapons despite splitting it with the Mayor, I'm confident to leave it in their hands because I'm sure they'd put it to good use.

However, I've never been so excited when I discovered that Natasha was actually with child.

"HOLY SHIT! DOES IBARRA KNOW?!"
