Chapter 296: Obstacle Course.
From Red Dream's farm, he had to return to the tower of destiny before he could move anywhere else.
This need to always return to the tower of destiny before he could move to other places was a major constraint on his newfound ability to move anywhere. But he soon discovered other constraints.
The second constraint was that he could only move to places on Earth-11. He couldn't go to the Lignum.
He also couldn't go to the black market for some reason. The best he could do was appear at the entrances he had taken in the past.
The third constraint was that he had to be able to envision where he was going vividly before he could move there. But it had the advantage of not needing to have been there before.
He tested the limit of this constraint by looking at pictures of locations he had never been to before. As long as he familiarized himself with the location and could picture it in his mind, he could move there.
The fourth constraint was that he couldn't take living things and heavy objects with him while teleporting. This didn't diminish its usefulness by much, though.
The last constraint was the time and focus he needed to concentrate on visualizing where he wanted to go. If he was too excited or distracted, he wouldn't be able to succeed with the teleportation.
But despite all these constraints, he was impressed and happy with the ability. He became more satisfied with it when he found that he could use it with his shadows to break some of the constraints.
He sat on his couch and said, "There goes my last bit of regret for killing Wrath. But I would have liked to have her around to ask her how she was able to watch my first game and find my apartment."
He shook his head. "She kept too many secrets from me. I need someone to tell me what the Ring of Paragon can really do. But who can I ask?"
There was only one other paragon in existence that he could ask for advice. But he wants to kill the person, not ask them questions.
There was no other viable source of information apart from the Ring of Knowledge and the god kings of Yggdrasil. But he doesn't know how to contact these sources of information.
He stopped thinking about that issue and decided to do the things he came to earth to do.
The first thing he did was to sign up for the advancement game. For that, he entered the tower of destiny with his mind.
He appeared in the familiar white world. There were old and new messages waiting for him. As for the dossier for the Lignum world, they had been removed.
He ignored the messages in favor of signing up for his next game. There was a timer displaying how much time he had left until he was forcefully signed up for the advancement game.
The timer showed that he still had almost 52 weeks left. But the timer became zero when he willed it in his mind to enlist for the next advancement game.
The tower of destiny went ahead with enlisting him for advancement. It added his name to the list of individuals who had decided to advance and then grouped them into different games.
Then it sent him the information about his advancement game and a list of every participant that will take part in the game.
Destiny Game 30

- Rule 6: Points can be earned either by passing obstacles or destroying them. Passing obstacles will award a third of the points, while destroying obstacles will award the full available points.
- Rule 7: Sacrificing points to strengthen the obstacles of others will increase the reward they earn from overcoming obstacles. But if the participant whose obstacle course you strengthened is eliminated, you will earn their game points instead.
- Rule 8: Game weapons and artifacts can be used in this game.
He took note of the rules of the game. Then he looked through the list of names of the competitors that were going to participate in the game.
What he saw got him thinking. "I have three weeks left to prepare. Instead of studying up on their looks and abilities, I can find them and eliminate them before the game."
It is something that he can do now that he doesn't have to travel long distances across cities to find his competitors. If he can find where they are living over the internet, he will be able to get close to them and assassinate them before the battle.
But then he shook his head after thinking about it and said, "That will ensure that I will win. But it will deprive me of the reward of an increase in fan count for a thrilling performance and the game points acquired from killing others."
He decided to check his messages next. But he soon became discouraged because most of them were from his fans or enemies. It was a waste of time to read them. It made him unwilling to go through the hundreds of messages he had received.
He thought to himself as he left the tower, "It is a shame that my shadows can't enter my mental space in the tower of destiny, or they would be able to help me go through my messages."
"No matter. I'll just have to be content with what they can do."
When he stopped concentrating, he discovered that he had appeared in front of the white tower again. It didn't surprise him.
He thought about it and returned to his room. Then he began working on his next objectives.
He had already sent one of his shadows to inspect the business of his cabals. So he has time to do other things.
What he wants to do now is find Rewind. He came to his room to use his phone to do that. He needed internet access for it, which is something completely absent at the core of the world.
He has always admired Rewind's ability and would like to have it. If he could find his location either on the internet or through the database of the Villain League, he would be able to send himself over directly and take Rewind's ability for himself.
As he browsed the web, he noticed that only 2 months had elapsed on Earth-11 since he left for the foreign battlefield. He had spent 14 months on Lignum, so there was a time difference of 7.
He wasn't surprised by that. It was something he had learned from Wrath and the army that strong worlds have a large time difference with Earth.
The stronger the world and the higher the energy difference between it and Earth, the wider the disparity in time between the two worlds. Since he would be invading worlds stronger than Earth in the future, this difference in time is something he would experience more often.
He didn't dwell much on it apart from considering that the one month between games that the Tower of Destiny forces on everyone might not be considered too short by the person who made the rules.
"Maybe the people that made those rules experience a year during our one month. So they think they are giving us ample time."
He thought briefly on that before he was distracted by something else.
The second thing that distracted him was news about Lady Dimitri. Lady Dimitri was the one who killed a king of New London with a curse.
Wrath had been looking forward to seeing the fallout between her and the management of the city. Unfortunately, they missed it when he went to the foreign battlefield.
It had only been two months so it was understandable that she was still alive. But he doesn't think that will be so for long because she had released the information about the other three kings.
Not only had she exposed their identity to the world, but she had also managed to kill another one. It is a big victory for her, but it meant that she had lost all her leverage on the kings.
