Chapter 314: Zachary Wright.
The raid team entered the rift and they had scouted the area beforehand to know what kind of enemies they were going to face. The monsters inside mostly were airborne and it would be hard for them to kill them, and the fact the monsters had magic abilities made it even harder.
Zachary led the whole team since he was undeniably strong compared to the others. His achievements and abilities alone were above others, and he was more experienced than anyone else. Devlin and Aleric became his hands to help him lead the raid smoothly.
"This spot right here is their nest. It would be best if we go there once the moon is up and kill them all while they're resting," Zachary said and pointed at the map. "I will take the north side, Aleric will take the east, Devlin take the south, and Sir Tristan you will take the west. The long-range Gifted are going to stay around the area and prevent the monsters from leaving," he added.
"Javelin, I need you to be on top of the hill with your team. You're our last resort if things go badly," Zachary looked at the woman sitting on the stone in her all-black dress with her white hair let loose on her shoulders and chest.
The woman nodded her head and then she looked at her team where all of them were mages. The strongest mage from the Dystrovia nation and the only mage who was able to cast a calamity magic that could make an asteroid fall from outer space.
Everyone was gathered to discuss the plan as they waited until nighttime. The plan was to defeat all the monsters stealthily and it would be possible as long as the monsters stayed inside the sound barrier that Javelin created later on.
The moon brightened the dark sky and everyone started to move as they had planned earlier. Zachary with a hundred Awakeners went to the north side quietly since the monsters were still awake.
Once everyone was in their spot, they waited for all the monsters to sleep. Javelin started to create a dome of sound barrier slowly from top to bottom without alerting the monsters. It was unnerving when they watched the barrier form, and so everyone started to enter the barrier with their weapons ready in their hands.
Zachary was the first one who entered the nest that was as big as a football stadium. He unsheathed his long sword on his back, the famous sword that everyone wished to have. The sword that is as clear as pure silver, as sturdy as diamond, as sharp as the diamond blade, the [Light Sword].
The sword itself was too overpowered, but the achievements and abilities that Zachary possessed were more than just a cherry on top. His skills and the sword made him the strongest Awakener that had ever existed and the chance someone could surpass him was a big zero.
The moment his sword shone in the moonlight that was when he gave the signal to the others to start attacking. He immediately dashed forward and swung his sword at the gargoyles that had become statues. He swung his sword so fast that before the statues fell to the ground, he had already cut dozens of them off.
It went smoothly they didn't have to trouble the range awakeners and Javelin. All the monsters had been annihilated Thanks to Zachary who almost single-handedly massacred the monsters. But that didn't mean they were done, there were at least dozens of them out there, the nest.
It took them a whole week to kill the monsters and so far they hadn't encountered any monsters during the day. They were moving during the nighttime and hid during the daytime to avoid problems and everything went smoothly under Zachary's leadership. They were confident that they could clear the rift even if it took them baby steps.
After a whole month inside the rift, they had finally killed all the monsters with only a few of them that were heavily injured. As long as they were in there, the rift would stay stable and there wouldn't be a threat outside. But the problem was both Dystrovia nation and Faelethria Kingdom were vulnerable to breakout.
"We have two options," Zachary said as he sheathed his sword and looked at the gloomy castle on top of the mountain. "First, we are going to go up there and kill Sinestra. Second, we are going to postpone and let the other guilds enter this place and keep the rift stable," he pointed out and looked at everyone in front of him.
Aleric and Devlin would have chosen the second option right away, but they couldn't. They had no choice but to choose the first option, and most of them were going to take the first option as well.
"Why would you want to prolong this battle? What's your reasoning?" Javelin asked.
"I have a skill where I can detect danger..." Zachary answered as he turned around and looked at the castle. "Whatever inside that castle is giving me a warning that I'm too weak," he explained.
Zachary sensed the same feeling when Mykel entered the grand hall, and what surprised him was that Mykel's was more frightening than the one inside the castle. That was when he knew how strong Mykel was and how Mykel could defeat Sinestra easily if he joined the raid.
"You? Too weak?" A man asked with his eyebrows raised as he looked at Zachary.
"Yes, but I'm not alone. We are in this together and if we work together, it's possible to defeat Sinestra. That's why I'm giving you two options," Zachary answered and nodded his head. "So I'm giving you choices and we will do either one of them," he added.
The majority chose the first option after they gave a long thought about it and considered the other option. Their main reason for choosing the first one was their own nation's safety as they had been away for too long.
"Since we have decided to fight Sinestra. It would be our disadvantage if we go up there," Zachary said as he took a few steps back to look at the mountain. "Javelin. This might be your only chance to go all out," he glanced at Javelin with his eyebrows raised.
Javelin was sleepy, but when she heard that, she was wide awake and immediately looked at Zachary. She jolted from her seat and grabbed her staff then approached him with a huge smirk on her face.
"You mean it, Zach?" Javelin asked and couldn't stop smiling in excitement.
"Yes, so I think it would be best if we get as far as possible before you use that magic," Zachary nodded his head with a serious expression. "We are leaving now," he added.
Everyone left not knowing what it was all about since they had never seen Javelin's full power. The only one who knew about her power was Zachary because they both once took care of a breakout that happened in Dystrovia. The massive crater, the missing city, and the disappearance of thousands of monsters in a single night, those were all because of her, but they didn't know that.
Everyone was watching in the distance when Javelin created a magic circle with the help of her team. She guided them from the beginning and when it finished, the magic circle was twice the size of a basketball court. She then stood in the middle as her team went to the side to watch her magic with the others.
The magic circle and the magic letters on it started to glow and a strong gravitational pull started to push down right in the circle. Weirdly enough, Javelin was unaffected by it, and then a translucent barrier appeared from outside the circle and went all the way to the sky.
Everyone's jaw dropped when they saw the magic Javelin created and how everything around her was either pushed down to the ground or lifted into the sky. It looked like she was manipulating the space around her, and when they wondered what she was trying to do, they saw something bright in the night sky.
"Everyone get down and cover your head," Zachary said as he unsheathed his sword and put it right in front of his face.
Everyone followed Zachary's words and went down on their knees and covered their heads. They didn't know what had happened, but suddenly their ears started to ring and their hearts skipped a beat. A few of them were curious and lifted their heads, but the moment they did that, they broke their necks and were thrown away. They died stupidly and it was almost an instant, but thankfully they died without having to feel any pain.
The shockwave was too powerful and everyone was thrown away with broken bones and dislocated joints. They were all still in shock when they saw the mountain had disappeared and so had the castle. An asteroid destroyed them in an instant and they finally knew how terrifying Javelin was and why she was the strongest mage.

"You're alive?" Javelin asked as she looked at Zachary who was the only person that stood tall and was unharmed from the shockwave.
"You need to focus on what's in front of you," Zachary said as he lowered his sword and stared into the distance.
Javelin turned around and saw the cloud of dust in the distance slowly dissipating. That was when she noticed there was something big, a massive black cloth that was floating in the air behind the smoke.
"That wasn't enough, huh?" Javelin asked.
"Not only that. I think we pissed him off," Zachary answered as he tightened his grip on his sword.
