Chapter 25: Ch.025 Lawyer Kisaki, Let’s celebrate my Promotion together!
[~1500 Words]
Location: Teitan High School
Shinichi Kudo held the newspaper, his jaw clenched, eyes deceptively calm despite the simmering rage within.
It's all reports about 'Inspector' Fujiwara Takuya .
With so many cases solved, he had to admit it required considerable skill to accomplish that many in just two weeks.
Even Shinichi acknowledges Officer Fujiwara's skills as a detective….Ah…he is an excellent policeman.
It's no surprise Takuya passed the police exam. This skill is sufficient, even surpassing that of other exam passers.
It's fair to say that Fujiwara Takuya is just as Intelligent and qualified as him.
However, Officer Fujiwara's fame made him indispensable to the police force, personally handling every case and he, Kudo Shinichi was being forgotten.
Despite his past loyalty, hard work, and unwavering support of the police, Inspector Megure has now ignored him.
The Metropolitan Police Department is, in his opinion, all are a bunch of scum.
Shinichi was very envious.
Two weeks had passed, and he still hadn't made the newspaper.
While he received some press coverage, the newspapers invariably used him to highlight Officer Fujiwara.
[Kudo Shinichi, the brilliant High School Detective, has suffered three consecutive defeats at the hands of Inspector Fujiwara, a setback that may signal the end of his reign.]
What is this crap about the end of Genius High School Detective?
Despite a comfortable life, opportunities are scarce for him. Should the opportunity arise, he would outmatch Fujiwara Takuya in terms of reasoning ability.
Unfortunately, he's still in school and can't participate in any cases.
Inspector Megure will not be looking for him either. He can't compare with Officer Fujiwara who is a Police.
He was afraid that if too much time went by, the police would forget about him, leaving Fujiwara to claim all the credit.
"Did you hear about the highly skilled police officer who recently solved three cold cases and cleared the name of an innocent person wrongly imprisoned?"
"That cop is super famous, hasn't everyone heard of him?"
"The papers are full of stories about him."
"Even Kudo-san was outdone by him. With all the other cases, it's been ages since Kudo-san was in the papers, right? "
All the guys in class looked at Kudo Shinichi, all smiles and mischief.
Shinichi is known for his sharp reasoning and loves to flaunt his talents in the newspapers.
He had an excellent family, has a relationship with Ran Mouri, and was naturally attractive, making him the envy of many of his male classmates.
Even if they don't usually show it, seeing Shinichi get stomped on makes them want to do the same.
"…"
Are they making fun of him?
Those guys are a bunch of losers who are judgmental. Previously showering him with compliments, they are now deliberately undermining him.
"I hear there's a new police officer, Kudo-san. He's tall, handsome, and really smart—smarter than you. "
Sonoko started making fun of Shinichi the second she got to the class.
She's always thought Shinichi was a show-off. He doesn't belong with Mori Ran.
Embarrassed, Ran stood nearby, her face all rosy.
It's tough for her to interfere; one's a good friend, the other her childhood sweetheart.
" Damn it ... Don't look down on me. School's keeping me from going. If not, I'd totally solve it before the cops got there. "
Shinichi was brimming with confidence, despite losing to Takuya three times.
Sonoko sneered, ignoring Shinichi, and grabbed the newspaper.
"That's one good-looking, heroic, and effective detective. I really like him."
Takuya's attractiveness is only remarkable compared to his exceptional looks. He remains quite handsome, aligning perfectly with Sonoko's preferences.
Shinichi's anger intensified due to his embarrassment in front of the girl he liked.
Wait for me, Fujiwara. I'm gonna win next time, I promise.
Location: Metropolitan Police Department.
Takuya held the worn leather case file, its pages filled with faded ink, and began to read.
This murder case file, from nineteen years prior, has only one week remaining before the twenty-year statute of limitations expires; the aging papers are a testament to it.
A 100% success rate in solving crimes can be achieved with the Sherlock Holmes hat, regardless of the number of clues available.
He just needed to put on the hat to solve the case.
The murder case Takuya had was a big one. Six people died one after another, making a big splash.
[T/N: Just a heads up, I'm a bit lost here, so don't expect a lot from what's coming next.]
The case was solved ages ago, but Fujiwara Takuya had doubts, so he used it for practice.
The whole nation's eyes are on this, so if he solves it at the end, it'll be a big deal.
Ten cases a day would be easy for him if he didn't care what people thought.
It takes him three to five days, typically, to crack a case. That's how quickly a great police officer solves a case.
Since the other Metropolitan Police officers are unconventional, we should ignore this.
"Hey Officer Fujiwara, lay off the case. It's getting late. I think you can crack this case tomorrow. "
Miwako walked up to Takuya, her eyes shining with love.
In the past two weeks, she's seen Takuya solve numerous previously unsolved cases.
Miwako slowly but surely developed feelings for Takuya afterward. Who doesn't love great guys? She was fond of him.
She believes Takuya is a real police officer.
She saw the victims' families weeping with joy at Takuya's successful case resolution.
"It's about that time. I must go home as well. Miwako, get some early rest. "
Takuya stored the file. He didn't bother looking at it. He was trying to decide where to head after work.
He's solved a ton of cases—he's got the files to prove it, and a clear method.
He wants to avoid overdoing it.
Solving dozens of cases daily is unusual, and bragging about it would be even stranger.
To an outsider, it would seem he committed the crimes.
[T/N: Not gonna lie, had a sherlock holmes series flashback]
Fujiwara got in his Porsche 356A after work and sent Eri a text message.
His daily routine now includes flirting with Eri and requesting to visit her place.
Unfortunately, Eri always says no.
That ride with her was crazy fast, he'll never forget it.
Fearing she might succumb to temptation and ruin her reputation, Eri stayed away from him for fifteen days.
Takuya knew what Eri was thinking the moment he saw her unread text.
This woman, is she sure she doesn't want a child? Is she confident she can succeed on the first attempt?
All right, then, let's not blame him for being impolite.
Takuya reached the law firm after making several turns.
"Excuse me, sir, do you have aa appointment?"
Before long, Midori Kuriyama was standing in front of Takuya.
Though he thought Kuriyama Midori was stunning, Takuya's attention today was on Eri.
"Attorney Eri scheduled me, and wants me there now."
"Alright, I'll let her know."
Kuriyama gave the door a gentle knock.
"Ms. Kisaki, you have a visitor."
" Come in. "
Eri didn't give it much thought, simply assuming a reservation had been made.
With a swift push, Takuya opened the door, then closed it and hugged Eri from behind, his hands settling just below her breasts.
" Lawyer Eri , do you miss me? "
"Why are you here?"
Eri thought she was being harassed by a hooligan who hugged her for no apparent reason.
She was poised to throw him with a judo move when Takuya's voice caused her to panic.
Afraid of succumbing to temptation, she avoided seeing Takuya. It was unexpected that Takuya came to her of his own accord.
"Lawyer Eri, I've been promoted to Police Inspector and I'd like to celebrate with fireworks."
Yes, Fujiwara Takuya intended to set off fireworks for the celebration. [Double meaning]
He sought to convey to Eri the experience of heavy gunfire.
[That's all for now]
