Divine Harem: My Sect of Heavenly Beauties

Chapter 268: Child of Evernight

Nancy couldn't control her emotions and jumped into Shen Yu's arms with a face full of smiles. She hugged him tightly and said,

"Master! I succeeded! I actually created a system just like me!"

While she had been confident that she would be able to create a system for the dungeon, she had always known it would merely be a part of her...nothing more.

That was why she had asked Shen Yu if she could try something else when he made the plans for the dungeon.

She wanted to create an independent system just like herself, one that could evolve over time and eventually become what she currently was.

Granted, it would take millions—if not billions—of years before the system matured, but it was still a step she had never dared to take before.

Creating a system was a domain no one aside from the Outer Deities had ever touched, and by making one, she was basically declaring rebellion against the Outer Gods.

Or maybe not.

Now that she was a part of Shen Yu, she was essentially related to an Outer God herself, so she didn't need to worry about any retaliation.

The harder part was actually constructing the system, and she had spent a long time crafting its structure and providing everything it needed.

Even after all the preparations, she was afraid of failure. But now, she had succeeded. Her efforts were not in vain.

Knowing how much work she had put into the creation of the dungeon system, Shen Yu lovingly stroked her hair and said,

"Good job! I assume this is the first time someone has managed to create a system like this, right?"

She nodded.

"Heh, then you just became the first person to do it. Congratulations!"

Nancy was obviously over the moon after hearing the praise, and since they were connected through their souls, she could also sense just how genuinely happy Shen Yu was for her.

It filled her with an unexplainable emotion that she never thought a system like her could ever experience.

Lan Ming and Ying Yue looked at each other and nodded in agreement.

While they didn't quite understand what was being discussed, especially since they hadn't even heard some of the things Nancy said, they understood one thing.

Nancy had accomplished something that nobody else had, and as fellow sister-wives, they were genuinely happy for her.

"Congratulations, Sister Nancy. You're really amazing."

"Congrats, Sister Nancy."

While Ying Yue was more reserved, Lan Ming smiled brilliantly to show her sincerity.

"Hehe, thanks! And you can just call me by my name,"

Nancy winked at them and then turned toward Shen Yu.

"Master, there's one final step that only you can do, so please help me create my first ever system."

Shen Yu blinked in confusion and nodded.

"Of course, just tell me what I need to do."

Nancy pointed at the sphere and said,

"This is currently more like a body without a soul—an egg, to be more exact. It needs a catalyst to hatch, and I'm too weak for that. Only your blood can hatch it."

Understanding her meaning, Shen Yu nodded and touched the sphere after slightly cutting his palm.

Normally, it would be nigh impossible to make him bleed, but this time it was his command, so his body had to follow it.

As the stream of crimson-red blood mixed with a golden hue dripped into the sphere, the world around them began to tremble as several fractures appeared in the fabric of reality.

The vast cosmos was visible on the other side of these fractures. A domineering aura swept out from them, shaking the entire world.

Every region—including the Qing Empire and the outer world—felt the impact. It felt like the apocalypse foretold in the ancient legends had arrived.

Many powerhouses of the Integration and Tribulation Realm woke up from their centuries-old seclusion in cultivation when they sensed the changes in the world.

It was as if the very world was crying out for help from every living being in existence.

They were shocked and fearful, wondering what kind of force could make even the heavens cry out in terror.

As the world descended into chaos, only the Hollow Mountains remained unchanged, though there was a strange mist at the peak that stirred awake.

However, it soon returned to normal, as if the changes happening throughout the world had nothing to do with it.

All of this happened in a matter of seconds, but those seconds were enough to alert every being in the world.

Meanwhile, Nancy narrowed her eyes. She hadn't expected such an outcome and failed to react in time. She would have responded normally, but she was drained after creating an entity similar to herself.

The moment the fractures formed, she shouted,

"Close your eyes and all your senses!"

The others didn't hesitate to follow her command. Even they could understand the gravity of the situation.

All of a sudden, the colors around them began to deepen until everything resembled something akin to an oil painting.

Nancy panicked, recognizing the strange power. A primal fear rose inside her—one she couldn't suppress, no matter how hard she tried.

Just then, a hand landed gently on her shoulder, and a soothing voice entered her ears.

"There is nothing to fear."

Nancy calmed down instantly and also realized something important. She wasn't afraid because she was weak, but because her past had shaped this primal fear.

Recognizing the oil painting, the fear had surged and enveloped her. But Shen Yu's voice had brought her back from that state.

Meanwhile, Shen Yu was calmly observing the surroundings with a light smile on his face.

He was genuinely impressed to find himself in this strange world that appeared like a two-dimensional oil painting pasted onto a canvas.

Strangely enough, they were in an odd state where they weren't composed of either three-dimensional or two-dimensional matter.

It was a state he couldn't quite explain, but he felt as though he wasn't truly within any dimension at all—everything around him felt the same.

"What a handy ability."

Shen Yu muttered and raised his hand, a smirk forming on his lips.

"Thanks for the patronage!"

As those words fell, the reality around him suddenly blurred and began to expand. There was a low growl before an ancient, domineering voice echoed.

"I will remember this, Child of Evernight!"
