Divorced and Determined: The CEO’s Ex-Wife Fights for Love

Chapter 91

Chapter 91 “Grass, It’s a Kind of Plant, We Should Cherish It and Not Trample on It!”

A few of the snack stall owners were taken aback when they heard that Lu Qin was going to pick up his daughter from school. They thought it was ridiculous.

“Is this how young people do business now, so recklessly?” One of them muttered.

“Why didn’t he arrange his family matters in advance?” Another questioned.

“And the timing! Just as they finished their orders, he suddenly had to leave!”

They had just been whispering a bit when complaints started coming from the customers.

“Hey, hey, hey! Did you hear that? This young boss is leaving for such a long time to pick up his daughter. Is this normal or not? Hurry up, let’s drown him in spit!”

But to their surprise, none of the customers seemed to mind at all. They even offered to help Lu Qin watch the stall.

“Boss Lu, picking up your daughter is important, don’t be late! Go ahead, hurry!”

“Come on, pick up your little cutie, I miss her so much!”

“Hey, your own daughter is turning into a little madwoman, only looking at your daughter can heal my broken heart.”

“Boss Lu, hurry up, we’re not hungry, we can hold on!”

“Hurry, don’t let Yaoyao wait!”

“How are you going, Boss Lu? Are you taking a taxi? It’s hard to get a taxi here, let me take you!”

The few snack stall owners watched as one customer drove a ‘Don’t Touch Me’ X5 and took Lu Qin to pick up his daughter.

Wow!

“Can someone explain this? Why does a stall vendor get treated like this? Who can tell me?”

They always say that customers are gods, but when it comes to this young boss, it’s the other way around!

They couldn’t do much. The snack stall owners had no choice but to wait since there was no business at their own stalls. They were planning to eat fried noodles and teach this young man a lesson, to show him what it’s like to deal with other people’s turf.

Ugh!

What they really meant was to show him how treacherous people can be!

In less than twenty minutes, Lu Qin returned with his daughter, Lu Xiyao.

“Thank you, Uncle, for driving us!”

The little one was holding Lu Qin’s hand, bouncing along happily.

“No need to thank me, it was nothing!”

The little girl looked at the long line of customers and couldn’t help but exclaim.

“Wow! Daddy, so many people are waiting in line!”

“Daddy is so awesome, so amazing!”

The customers all smiled when they saw the little girl.

“Is this the cute one of Boss Lu? How was kindergarten today?”

“Here, Yaoyao, have an apple and grow tall!”

“Auntie has beef jerky, take a few extra packs!”

“Little cutie, come here, Uncle has some White Rabbit milk candies for you!”

The little girl’s eyes brightened up. She hadn’t had White Rabbit candy in a long time, as Lu Qin was strict with her to prevent cavities.

“Thank you, Uncle! You’re such a good person!”

The adult’s large hand gave her the candy, which she held with both hands.

“Haha, jackpot!”

The little girl’s eyes sparkled.

“Yaoyao, take just two pieces,” Lu Qin’s voice came from behind.

The little girl instantly became discouraged.

“Okay, Uncle, I’ll just take two pieces,” she said, handing the rest of the candy back to the uncle.

“Boss Lu, I don’t want the candy. You can have it,” the customer who had bought the candy said. They genuinely liked the little girl.

“Yeah, Daddy, take it, Uncle doesn’t want it!”

Everyone around laughed, and it was clear that the little girl was loved by all.

Lu Qin pinched her soft little face and stuffed the White Rabbit candies into his pocket. Afterward, as he was busy frying noodles, the little girl rummaged in her own pocket, but her dad just let her be.

The few snack stall owners, who had been standing or squatting at the front of the line, were close to doubting their life choices. When they saw Lu Qin again, they were ready to scold him.

“This is outrageous! Who goes off to do other things when they’re running a stall? Don’t you have any professional spirit?”

“Younger man, not to be rude, but how can you do this? You left all these customers waiting here. Look at the other stalls around here—they’re all focused and dedicated, unlike you, leaving the stall to go pick someone up!”

The few stall owners found a reason to criticize, and one by one, they started berating Lu Qin.

“Grass!”

Old Bull, one of the stall owners, was about to deliver a long string of complaints, but when he saw Lu Qin’s daughter, Lu Xiyao, he froze.

“How is it that such a beautiful little girl exists?! She looks like a little fairy!”

Old Bull’s words stopped abruptly.

“Grass… Ahem, grass is a plant, we should cherish it and not trample on it!”

The little girl, with a pitiful look, spoke up, “Uncles, I’m sorry for making you wait so long. Please don’t blame my daddy!”

“My daddy does everything by himself and runs the stall. It’s really hard work!”

“I don’t want my daddy to be so tired, so sometimes I try to tell him not to run the stall anymore, but he won’t listen. He says the family needs money, so he has to come out to make a living!”

The little girl spoke with such a sad, almost crying tone that the stall owners were left dumbfounded. Before they could say anything, other customers suddenly became upset.

“What’s wrong with you guys? Just because he’s picking up his daughter? It’s only been twenty minutes, and you can’t wait?”

“Boss Lu is raising his child on his own and trying to make a living. What’s wrong with that? Don’t you have any compassion?”

“Running a stall is a free job, you can do it when you want. Boss Lu thought about us, and after picking up his daughter, he came right back to continue working. He could have just closed his stall and left! Such a good guy, and you’re going to say this about him!”

“How can you say that about such a cute and well-behaved little girl? How could you be so heartless?”

The stall owners felt their backs getting cold and their hearts weighed down with guilt. They hadn’t even said anything about the child! They felt a bit ashamed.

“Sorry for making you wait.”

“You ordered three servings of fried noodles, right? And one serving of twice-cooked pork for that uncle?”

Lu Qin fired up the wok and began frying noodles. The stall owners exchanged glances, and they couldn’t help but acknowledge that this young man really had a sharp memory. He even remembered what they had ordered earlier.

With a hot wok and cold oil, he cracked an egg into the pan. Lu Qin’s technique was smooth, and anyone with experience could tell he was a pro.

The stall owners couldn’t help but look at Master Zhong, who ran another stall selling fried noodles. They were comparing. Master Zhong furrowed his brows and felt a sense of pressure building up inside him.

In just two minutes, Lu Qin’s stirring was perfect—208 flips. The high heat and fast flipping were necessary to prevent the noodles from sticking and to achieve that special crispy flavor.

A master!

No, an absolute top-tier master!

Master Zhong broke into a sweat on his forehead. The rich aroma from the wok wafted through the air.

The few stall owners couldn’t help but swallow. It smelled so good! They couldn’t resist.

Lu Qin packed the fried noodles.

“Don’t bother packing. We’ll taste it first.”

Lu Qin handed them the fried noodles, then continued frying the twice-cooked pork.

All three servings of fried noodles were opened, and they shared them with chopsticks.

“Master Zhong, look, this fried noodle breaks apart easily with chopsticks, not greasy, not dry, much better than your fried noodles!”

“Exactly! Master Zhong, I’ve eaten your fried noodles before. They’re all clumped together and not evenly fried. This one’s much smoother! Try it!”

Without comparison, there’s no harm.

Master Zhong silently took the hit.

The truth was too harsh—this young man’s skills were way better than his!
