As Lily Gray’s heart was pounding with fear, the phone in her hand suddenly rang.

The number displayed on the incoming call — it was Larry Scott!

Without thinking, she answered the phone and berated him, “Larry Scott, I didn’t expect you to be such a despicable person! How dare you call me at a time like this!”

Larry Scott on the other end of the line thought that her words were insinuating about his reassignment to B City.

He frowned slightly, and his cold and deep voice began to speak, “Why wouldn’t I? I’m calling to remind you that even if I’m back in B City, I still have ways to deal with you. My patience is limited, don’t let me wait too long.”

“Even if I’m not in A City, I can still order my subordinates to hold onto Aidan Lucas. Lily Gray… I have plenty of methods, and if you don’t believe me, just try.”

As Larry Scott coldly uttered his threats, in reality, he was too preoccupied with his own problems lately to bother about the Lucas family’s affairs.

The high-ranking military officials were being reshuffled due to the recent issues surrounding him.

Lily Gray’s tone was bleak with a hint of hoarseness.

Her words sounded strange, causing Larry Scott to furrow his brow, “Did anything happen over there?”

“You actually have the nerve to ask? Heh, Commander Scott, there’s no need for you to play dumb in front of me. Even if you don’t admit it, I know that everything is your doing! You’re ruthless enough, and now, I’ve come to realize that this is the thunderous method you told me about.”

Larry Scott’s eyes darkened, and he discerned the situation from Lily Gray’s brief words.

It seemed that something had happened on the Lucas family’s side.

Lily Gray believed that it was his doing.

It was also good to be misunderstood, as it could make Lily Gray leave the Lucas family sooner.

“Alright, I’ll arrange for someone to take you there, but don’t forget my condition. You can only leave by yourself, and if I find out that you left with the child, then…”

“No need for you to say it, I won’t take Ben with me.” Lily Gray interrupted him coldly.

How could she take Ben with her?

Being targeted by such a terrifying madman as Larry Scott, she didn’t dare to harbor any ounce of hope.
